Love and laugh. That is what my partner and I did for 27 wonderful years. It would have been longer if we had met sooner. I shared so many of the jokes and anecdotes from this site with him that made us both laugh. He was a vet from WWII after joining the Navy at the age of 17 and I tried to get him to share his experiences on OPP. Unfortnately he could never figure out that “magic pad”.
He left us last Friday, at the ever-young age of 91. Whenever anyone asked him how he was, he said: “Fantastic, and getting better”. Every day to him was a bonus day.
Please keep up the jokes folks. Everyone needs all the laughs they can get.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all. Hug your loved ones and be sure to tell them you love them. Nobody can hear those words too many times.

This is no time to be sad, let us celebrate a long life of joy well lived. Thank you for sharing with us.

It is easy to tell people to not be sad, but much harder for them to comply. I will have my sad moments but I will always remember and enjoy the wonderful happy ones, which lessens the sad times. Sad happens! So does a long life of joy well lived (and I wish that for everyone). Thank you for your reply.

Clearly, as exhibited by your comments, your partner would have enjoyed an additional 27 years or more with you. While understanding your still mourning the loss of your beloved partner, enjoy the very best & merriest Christmas you can in his absence.
I figure he will be looking in on you, & your happiness will continue to please him. Have a healthy, prosperous and Happy New Year.

Thank you Slatten. My children and his children are all looking out for me and we are all God’s children so I know we are in good hands. I have been very blessed in my lifetime with much love and laughter, whether in sickness or health or through thick or thin.

Sorry to read this of your loss, elated you had 27 years with the love of your life...
How treasured they are and missed when they go on..
Time is the healer of all things and while you feel as you do right now it does lessen with time.. You will never forget and often will hear his voice all signs he is with you in your heart...
God Bless you and family, may 2019 bring you wonderful moments of memories reflecting on that love that never leaves you..❤️

Thanks so much. Every time I think I have cried myself dry, something triggers the waterworks again. His daughter was here for a couple of days and she is almost as good a hugger as her Dad. We sort of held each other up.
