Nancy and Chuck are spanked and put in a corner by daddy...
So tell Mexico to start paying for it!

That may be one way to look at the comedy of the day--especially Mike Rushmore Pence: Pelosi came up with a revolutionary idea: “an evidence-based conversation”. But just as she appeared to be cooling the temperature, Schumer and Trump traded verbal blows like New Yorkers rowing over a taxi.
'Trump vows to shut down government in heated public row with Democrats
It pushed Trump to say something he – or Republicans – may regret: “I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck, because the people of this country don’t want criminals and people that have lots of problems and drugs pouring into our country. So I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame you for it.”
Finally, it was over. Pence remained motionless. But a strange, beatific smile played on his lips. Until that moment the bust of Winston Churchill, glowering over Trump’s shoulder, had been much more expressive than the vice-president.'
...
Maybe Pence was praying that he had not heard Trump correctly when he said that he (Trump) would take 'the mantle' for shutting down the government for a wall that Mexico was going to pay for and for which the majority of Americans is not an urgent priority.

Trump just accepted ownership of the Trump Christmas government shutdown, publicly taking the blame from anyone but republicans. The republicans in the house do not have the v**es to buy his monument to hubris so it ain’t happening.

And after this great wall, what next? A mote to discourage all the tunneling going on?
You apparently weren't paying attention; Trump was full on toddler during that sham meeting and America saw it. This latest attempt at kabuki theater backfired.

The wall will not solve the problem 100%, but it would help a lot, imo. My question is why can't they work together? Nancy and Chuck say it's possible to have border security without a wall. Trump says the wall will make their border security efforts even better - so why not both? Why does it have to be one way or the other? That is what Trump was trying to show with this meeting in the Oval Office with the press present - that he wants to work with them, but they are flat out saying no way will they give them his wall - because they don't like that he won. Plain and simple.

You don't know what your talking about. Those citizens that are aware of the disaster i******s have caused in this country are all for the wall and that is 60% of Americans. The only people that arn't for the wall don't realize the deaths and destruction that these people have caused. These is also the economic destruction they and the chamber of congress has created and of course the welfare and medical cost that these i******s cost us. Just because you don't feel the pain dosen't mean its not very real.

The only people that thought these two shameless politicians made any sense is just demoRATS and their supporters. Over 70% of v**ers want the wall and only people who want open borders for control of government are for them.

I saw that too! I fleck of dust is what the Dems want (= nothing at all). But a moat, well that IS a good idea - one with a lot of electric eels!!
Amen! Trump is looking at some of the discretionary funds of the 171 billion allocated to defense to see if a small portion of that can be used for "border security", aka, the wall. If he elects to go forward with that plan, and finally gets the wall built, he'll be a shoe-in in 2020.
MAGA, all the way, baby!!
