Isaiah chapter 40

Verse 1 & 2

God’s mercy endures forever. God is not angry. We are all sinners. Sinners in the hand of God will be forgiven

Verse 3 & 4

John the Baptist came in the spirit of Elijah. One day these foolish ideas will be seen for the nonsense they really are. We have killed 60 million of our own children. Maxine Waters doesn’t even live in the district she represents. She thinks she can remove the president. She got elected.

Verse 5 – 8

Life in the flesh doesn’t last forever for any of God’s creation. When a pet dies, you never play with it again. One day we will all share the same fate. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but God’s word will never pass away.

Verse 9 – 11

This bubble gum Christianity, where instead of inserting a quarter and getting a gumdrop, we are taught “when praises go up, blessings come down”. The bible says, His reward is with Him. If this is true, we haven’t received it yet. If His work is before Him, He hasn’t done it yet. Instead of having pastors that teach chapter by chapter and verse by verse, some pastors sleep with the wives of the men that bring their families to church. Christ will change things. Until then, we should endure persecution.

Verse 12 – 14

God built this universe and put all life on this planet. He did this millions of years ago. None of us taught God anything. Compared to God, we are stupid.

Verse 15 – 17

God built this universe, we’re just here for the ride. The earth orbits the sun traveling a speed that is almost 25 times faster than a bullet fired from a high powered rifle.

Verse 18 – 20

We all have this illusion of control. The truth is God is in control. During Old Testament times, instead of obeying God who made them, they worshipped statues. Man-made idols. We do the same thing today. We want to sing praises to God while ignoring every sermon He preached, parable He taught, and miracle He performed.

Verse 21 & 22

At this time, most people thought the world was flat. It is actually spherical, but slightly egg shaped. There is no limit to outer space.

Verse 23 & 24

What happened to Prince? Where is Michael Jackson? They died childless. We shouldn’t judge. We are all sinners. It is a bigger sin to point fingers than what we think someone else has done. The only sin we can be sure of is our own.

Verse 25 & 26

This is an intelligently designed universe. There has to be an intelligent designer. Read the 19th Psalm.

Verse 27 – 31

The questions asked in verse 27 are answered in 28 – 31. They are so powerful that I don’t need to explain.
