The war on Christmas reached new heights with this attack on a town’s nativity scene
December 7, 2018

Christmas is under attack every year by the radical Left.

They do everything they can to take Christ out of Christmas.

But now the war on Christmas has reached new heights with this attack on the Ten Commandments and a town’s nativity scene.

In Dover, Ohio, city officials say they were forced to remove a statue of the Ten Commandments and a nativity scene from the city property after receiving threats from the atheist group Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF).

FFRF has said the removal of the religious scene was in “defense of the First Amendment.”

Fox 8 Cleveland News writes:

DOVER, Ohio — Season’s greetings in Dover will look different this year after the mayor says the city was threatened with a lawsuit if they refused to move a statue of the Ten Commandments and a nativity display off city property.

“We have freedom of religion and they’re saying that we’re endorsing one religion,” said Dover Mayor Richard Homrighausen.

In a January letter, a Wisconsin based group — the Freedom from Religion Foundation– wrote the Dover mayor, stating an area resident reported about the displays including a large “Latin”cross.

The foundation stated the displays were a conflict, citing the separation between church and state. The mayor says the displays nearby city hall were moved to a nearby church property as a result this holiday season.

“Twenty-seven years been mayor, nothing like this has ever happened,” said the mayor. “Never imagined it would happen.”

The Freedom From Religion Foundation thinks they are “defending” the First Amendment.

But in reality they are attacking the very purpose of it, that anyone can exercise Freedom of religion.

No one can take that away as a constitutionally given right.

Unfortunately, this is not FFRF’s first rodeo with an attack on Christmas.

As we reported, they recently set up a “secular nativity scene” that depicts Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington watching the Bill of Rights in a manger.

In doing so they flat-out disrespect the purpose of Christmas in the birth of Jesus.

But they also show their true colors by demanding that religious displays be removed, and simultaneously demanding that they be allowed to set up their own atheistic displays.

This shows the hypocrisy of the radical left.

They want to completely disregard the Constitution unless they can twist it in their favor.

This is hardly an attack on Christmas, the Ten Commandments has nothing to do with Christmas and when displayed by government is no different than endorsing the Old Testament version of sharia law. The nativity scene was moved to a church where Christians continue to enjoy it. In the mean time the government property remains a neutral space where people of all religious faiths along with atheists are equally welcome. The freedom from religion folks courageously defended our constitution and their marginalized neighbors from good meaning Christians jamming their beliefs down the throats of others.

How in the world did America ever survive with our Judeo/Christian heritage and spirituality before those, such as yourself, fought so hard to destroy its public pronouncement? Answer: we were a much better nation and people than we are today! You always bring death with your rotting corpse; both death of soul and death of the body.

Do you have such little faith in God That you feel he needs you to force plastic statues of baby Jesus and the wise men onto the front yard of city hall to prove his existence? Or sadder yet your devotion?

Kevyn, how do you feel about frescoes of Lady Justice, with or without blindfolds, being displayed in just about every court house in the country? FYI, it is directly derived from the polytheistic paganism of ancient Rome. So, in order to not be viewed as simply an i***tic l*****t automaton, you MUST say you are against it.

And further Kevyn, who says that a nativity scene must be viewed as a tribute to the birth of Jesus of Nazareth? In fact, the overwhelming number of births throughout the world are likely in similar and many in identical circumstances. In fact, Kevyn you, yourself, may have been born (assuming you were born of a woman, at all) in similar circumstances. Many children are born in a car, on the way to a hospital, in case you are not aware of this reality. Thus, a nativity scene may be viewed as a tribute to all of humanity.

If you do respond Kevyn, spare us please your banal, sophomoric platitudes. This nation was founded upon principles of a Judeo-Christian understanding of our rights. Address please, the ideas, for once.

Oh, and I almost forgot fair Kevyn. Jesus was the most important person in the history of Western Civilization. I think for that, he deserves recognition. Unless you dare challenge my hypothesis, which you cna't. So if anyone deserves recognition, such as George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, your venerated FRD, why exclude Jesus?

Kevyn can't refute this but given is history of shrinking from my past challenges, he may try but will not be able to deny receiving this, since I am sending a copy directly to him.

Every place you Marxist d**g your rotting corpse you k**l Christians. First you belittle it, dismiss it, pervert the morality of a society, burn bibles, etc.. It's incremental, bit by bit. Nothing you sorry excuses for humanity can ever do will stop it or slow it down. If conditions get harsh enough we go to the catacombs. Here in America we have the right to practice our faith and, according to our constitution at least, there is nothing you should be able to do to stop our age old traditions. That is why we need judges like Kavanaugh and why Progressives h**e constitutionalist! You will lose everything in the end.....final justice!

FREEDOM FROM religion folks courageously defended our constitution?????

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof:

How is government property a neutral space when it is on government property that some of the most contentious political battles take place?

If government property is a neutral space, why do some government properties such as court houses, office buildings, and public schools provide special washing, rest room and prayer facilities for Muslims?

Why are the Koran, the Bhagavad Gita, the Satanic Verses, The Golden Bough and other religious and pagan scriptures allowed in our public schools, but the Holy Bible is banned?

If displaying a nativity scene is seen as "jamming Christian beliefs down the throats of others", then why is the display of witches, ghosts, goblins, jack-o-lanterns and werewolves on Halloween not seen as jamming Celtic paganism down the throats of others?

If, as Jesus commanded, spreading the Gospel with compassion and mercy is jamming Christian beliefs down the throats of others, what then is threatening to take off your head if you don't convert to Islam?

Last question, why are liberal progressives so goddamned evil?

Hey Kevie...NEWS FLASH! The Old Testament is NOT a version of Sharia Law. You don't have the SLIGHTEST CLUE of what you're talking about.

Someone answer a question for me. The Constitution of the United States applies to the Federal Government. Each State has their own Constitution. So how does separation of Church and State (which is not in the Constitution) apply to individual States or individual Cities? State or City property is not Federal property so where does this argument apply? Thanks. Mike

They weren't for "freedom from religion". They were for freedom to practice one's chosen religion.

I doubt people would get as worked up if it were a symbol related to Islam or any other religion.
