My cousin was not as you describe.... and she did eat half of what I consume... I am 5'9" and weigh 118 to 121 pounds, depending on the season. She weighed 215 pounds.
She was put into hospital with only an IV in a room that was a containment room, no food was allowed in, women had to check their purses and all gifts were opened to make sure no one smuggled food in. She had only an IV drip for 15 days and did not lose an ounce even with a hired fitness trainer (3 times a day for 45 minutes, 7 days a week). Even after having part of her stomach removed. Even with a professional shopper who was a Nutrition specialist who weighed and measured out her food... and even with surprise inspections of her home in search of "illegal foods." She stuck to the program and could not lose weight. Doctors took blood,, x-rays, samples of all nature and could not explain why she could not lose weight.

And by the way... fat people are humans and some of them enjoy the window seat. They also like to eat in restaurants without people snickering.... they also enjoy a danish with their coffee (and many will not have because someone like you may be watching and judging).... And whats more, the person you hired ... what were you thinking when you brought in donuts? Would you take an alcoholic to the local pub too? Fat shaming your mother to tears must have made you feel so superior. I could go on about the horrors people like you subject them to, and I believe that is the major problem. I think if they were not ostracized and judged, they could allow their body to find its ideal weight without stigma.

But... as I said, good for you for getting your first class ride.

So should a person squeeze it up and suffer a five hour flight all crunched up? I feel for fat people and am reasonably considerate. But like you say, someone who actually needs two seats should pay for two seats. Instead of wanting a window seat that has an inflexible side she should get an aisle so that she can compensate way less on the one person next to her. Apologizing to the people you are crowding would be huge. And yes, in hindsight I could have gotten up and quietly asked the stewardess if there were any other seats.

I too had a cousin that was quite obese. Nobody could understand how she could be so overweight when according to her she ate half the calories needed just to survive. I hired her as office manager, three pastries before work, a couple more before noon, heaven help anyone touching one of her donuts, they were facing potential death. We had a little cutie working the front desk that apparently cut one of Renee's stashed donuts and took half. I heard Renee screaming obscenities at her, telling her keep her effing hands off of her donuts. I waded in and told her I bought a dozen donuts every day for 4/5 people, what was she talking about? She said she set aside donuts in the fridge and they were hers, that she needed them to get through until noon. One morning I walked in as she was shifting a two or three pound bag of little candy bars into her desk. Toward the end of the day I went to get one, she told me they were almost gone and they needed to last her until the end of the day, in other words, no I couldn't have one. She said she couldn't concentrate if she wasn't munching something.

I had a bird food company, my partner and my wife are nutritionists, fat cells need to be fed, there is no such thing as immaculate fat. It's eating habits and moderating how much you eat. My mom was obese as well, when she was here she ate the way we did as far as portions, and we eat good, and she could lose a few pounds a week, until two weeks when she maintained we were starving her to death (really...literally). My wife found a whole bunch of empty candy bar wrappers under the bed after a stay, I was teasing her about it, that we'd busted her, she started crying and told me she was starving to death the way we were feeding her. She made heroic attempts at dieting...that weren't really.

I feel sorry for overweight people, they generally have psychological or self control issues. My cousin's was that she was molested as a girl by her step father and his brother who lived there for a time.
So should a person squeeze it up and suffer a five... (show quote)

It is not a joke, it is nonsense, the only question is wether you are pimping the crap or swallowing it hook line and sinker. You are not too sharp so I am betting the later.

The first time I saw a story like this was in 2012 and I think it has been going around via email for years after 911. Although I can not recall the exact date, I am sure it was reported on Beliefnet. Donna Calvin, a columnist often prints article that are not politically pleasing to atheist and liberals and rarely, if ever, is printed in mainstream media. Beliefnet is a web page for religious people. They offer stories from humor down to advice on how to love even the most unlovable of people. If you want to find out more about this "story" you may want to start with some very old articles on that site.

Here is a link: https://www.beliefnet.com/inspiration.aspx

I like this story! It was an excellent way to handle a problem on an airplane.
It was a typical airline flight like any other — until one elderly Christian woman was insulted for her faith.
The flight attendant who stepped in is facing controversy for the way she handled the situation.
Two major US airline companies have recently come under fire after the world witnessed their lack of care and blatant abuse of their customers.
But I must admit, when I read this story I couldn’t help but smile.

T he young flight attendant in this situation stands head and shoulders above the rest and it’s no wonder this Facebook post has been shared over 83,000 times! The altercation reportedly began when a middle-aged man arrived at his seat on a crowded flight, but refused to sit down. His seat was next to an elderly white woman reading her Bible. Disgusted, the Muslim man immediately summoned the flight attendant and “demanded another seat". The outraged man proceeded to tell the young flight attendant that he refused to sit next to an “infidel”.
The flight attendant did what any good customer service representative would do and explained that she would try to find another seat. After searching for a seat, the flight attendant returned and reportedly stated: “There are no more seats in economy, but I will check with the captain and see if there is something in first class.”
Almost 10 minutes later, the flight attendant returned and explained that she had found one available seat. The flight attendant continued: “It is our company policy to never move a person from economy to first class, but being that it would be some sort of scandal to force a person to sit next to an unpleasant person, the captain agreed to make the switch to first class.”
Before the outraged man could reply, the attendant gestured to the elderly Christian woman with the Bible and continued: “Madam, if you would so kindly retrieve your personal items, we would like to move you to the comfort of first class as the captain doesn’t want you to sit next to such an unpleasant person”.
It didn’t take long for passengers in the surrounding seats to applaud, while some even gave a standing ovation for the flight attendant.
I couldn’t agree more with the brave flight attendant’s decision to defend this elderly woman and her faith!

That is exactly the person who should have been moved to first class...nice

My wife and I got a bump to first class when a substantially overweight woman, who had the window seat, was using over half of my wife's seat to where she was over into a quarter of mine. I'm a big guy, I use all of my seat, and was sticking out into the aisle enough that I was worried carts were going to be whacking me. I asked my wife what are you doing? She whispered the lady next to me is taking up more than half of my seat. I said loudly that's BS, that's not going to fly (I actually did say that). Jeanne was shushing me and telling me to be quiet (out of consideration for the hefty woman). I loudly said no way, this was not going to be okay. I called the stewardess over, my wife frantically telling me to be quiet, me saying no I'm not going to shush. The stewardess looked at how much of my wife's seat was being encroached on and said let me see what we can do. She came back and said they had two seats in first class for us. The woman was all outraged and loudly said she was the one that needed the first class seat, the stewardess nicely said that she now had three seats all to herself and could even stretch out if she wanted, that was it...done deal. I was sure glad they didn't give us just one first class seat and leave me with the coach seat, that would have been a cold and frosty flight.

Every plane I've flown in the middle seat always has had two arm rest so the fat woman must have been oozing out under said arm rest is that they way it was ?

I've found it helps to get one of the emergency exit seats, they ask if you are willing to assist in getting people out and I tell them oh yeah, I would anyway.

More room to stretch your feet out.
