Verse of the Day for Saturday, August 11, 2018:

I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. — Psalm 119:14

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

Our treasure and our t***h come from Scripture. Scripture is God's guidance for us on how to avoid Satan's harmful traps and to live God's blessed life. Rather than seeing God's Word as limiting, we need to see it as a gift of love and to value it more highly than riches.

My Prayer...

Holy God, thank you for your written Word, your people's Scripture. May your t***h come alive in my life just as it does in my heart and mind. In the name of your Son Jesus I pray. Amen.

Verse of the Day for Sunday, August 12, 2018:

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. — 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

We are God's temple! God lives in us. What we do in our bodies is part of our worship to him. We are called to not only abstain from impurity, but we are called to glorify God in our bodies and honor the sacrifice by which our holiness was bought.

My Prayer...

Father, I confess to you that I sometimes lose sight of how precious my body is to you. With aging and the other challenges that daily remind me that my body is a vessel of decay, I find it hard to believe that I can glorify you with it. Please, through your indwelling Spirit, quicken in me a deeper reverence and appreciation of your presence in me. In the name of Jesus, my atoning sacrifice, I pray. Amen.

Verse of the Day for Monday, August 13, 2018:

We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. — Ephesians 2:10

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

The Psalmist reminded us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and God has something definite planned for us to do while we are here. We display his craftsmanship and sk**l when we intentionally live for him and not like the rest of the world.

My Prayer...

Master, teach me to recognize your opportunities and your will when they come into my life. I want to live for you without reservation. I pray for boldness to not be shy in sharing my faith. I pray for patience as I wait for folks to respond. I pray for protection on those close to coming to Christ. I pray not for me but for your Kingdom to be displayed in my life. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Verse of the Day for Tuesday, August 14, 2018:

These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. ... "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." — Revelation 3:14, 20

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

It has always fascinated me that this verse has often been cited by those calling others to conversion when it is primarily written to lukewarm Christians needing to rekindle their love relationship to the Lord. As believers, we need to ask the Lord Jesus into our hearts, our home, and lives. It's not that he's not there, it's just that he awaits our invitation — he will not barge in. He only inhabits hearts into which he has been invited!

My Prayer...

Holy Lord and Savior, I know you long to share your presence and fellowship with me. I know you are nearby as I draw each breath. But I confess that I am often unaware, and even sometimes unappreciative of your presence. I ask you this day to come into my heart and fill my life with your presence, comfort, and power. I want my life to be lived for you and with you. Holy and Almighty God, thank you for providing Jesus as my Lord and Savior. In his name I offer my thanks and praise. Amen.

Verse of the Day for Wednesday, August 15, 2018:

If we live, we live to the Lord: and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. — Romans 14:8

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

One of the incredible realizations we have as Christians is that our relationship with the Lord is eternal. As we seek after him, he is always there and no one can separate us from his love. Even when we die, we go to "be with the Lord." When we sleep in death, we are still "in the Lord." When he returns in glory we will go to "be with the Lord forever." Everything we have on earth is temporary except our love for the Lord Jesus, our praise of God through him, and our friends with whom we share that love and praise!

My Prayer...

Almighty God, thank you so much for binding yourself to our world in Jesus and binding me close to you through his lordship in my life. I look forward to the day when the Lord I kneel to worship today will be recognized by all the living and the dead as the One True Lord. I commit to live this day to honor him, and I know dear Father, that by honoring him I honor you. I praise and thank you for the gift of Jesus' eternal and abiding lordship in the name of the Christ my Lord. Amen.

More about t***h and the "media" that is supposed to report on it.

200 Newspapers expected to protest Trump

Wednesday, August 15, 2018

Poynter.org's Al Thompson, whose bio includes that he "has taught thousands of journalists, journalism students and educators in newsrooms around the world," says there will be a massive protest of journalists Thursday where "more than 200 newspapers will publish editorials in a "coordinated response" to President Trump calling the press the "enemy of the people." Each publication will write its own editorial." Poynter.org claims to be the global leader in journalism as instructor, innovator, convener and resource for "anyone who aspires to engage and inform citizens in 21stcentury democracies." This is a case of never arguing with someone who buys their ink by the barrel. A protest of "journalists." Uh-huh, right.

Journalism is defined by Merriam-Webster as "writing characterized by a direct presentation of facts or description of events without an attempt at interpretation." Subsequently, a journalist is "a writer or editor for a news medium." Journalists are supposed to report the facts without interpretation. This is key. No matter whether atheist or religious, liberal or conservative, c*******t or capitalist, journalists are supposed to report the news without bias. Certainly, one can argue that journalists will report the news based on the lens in which they view it. Notwithstanding, journalists should make a conscious attempt to be unbiased in their reporting.

If you watch the news on television, hear it on the radio, or read it somewhere, discerning the t***h has become so difficult in this environment because of the bias of those reporting the news. Most are so l*****t in their belief system that they cannot imagine that anyone would disagree with them-so they report the news from an extremely biased position, making them editorialists, not journalists. Point number 1 of the smartest things for journalists Thompson says he heard anybody say in 2017 was "It is important for you to know what you believe, but it is more important for you to ask yourself regularly, "Why do I believe what I believe?" If you are unbiased, it shouldn't matter. But herein is the point: Journalists are supposed to report the facts in unbiased fashion, their beliefs aside.

Today's "journalists" report what they believe to be true. Most journalists v**e Democrat, and most admit they are progressive. The end, therefore, justifies the means. Hence, over 90% of the stories written or aired by mainstream "journalists" are negative toward the current pragmatic, conservative President. A Pew Research study revealed that this compares with 20% negative coverage of the progressive former president. To me, it boils down to Christ. He said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the t***h and the life." And in John 8:32, Christ said that if you continue in his word, "then you will know the t***h, and the t***h shall make you free." When you see those 200 editorials whining about Trump's characterization of journalists, keep in mind that collectively they have no clue of what is t***h, so they can't even write it.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Bible symbolism:
The serpent: a symbol of Satan’s subtlety Ge 3:1; Rev 12:9; Rev 20:1-3
Cedar Trees = Israelites/Israel (real blood line Israelites) Cedars of Lebanon
• Dry bones: a symbol of spiritual death Eze 37:1-2,11
A rock: a symbol of stability Ps 18:2; Ps 40:2
Arrows: symbols of God’s judgments Ps 38:2; Ps 120:4
Locusts: a symbol of God’s judgment Ex 10:12; Joel 1:4; Rev 9:3
Beasts: symbols of earthly kingdoms Da 7:2-7,17; Da 8:20-22
A dove: a symbol of the Holy Spirit Mt 3:16 pp Mk 1:10 pp Lk 3:22
A lamb: a symbol of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice Rev 5:6

Biblical parables
• The Good Samaritan
• The Prodigal son.

Biblical Types and shadows:

Twins; Cain and Abel, Esau and Jacob

Hosea 12:10
A similitude is a similarity, a comparison, a likeness, a shadow—essentially the same as a parable. Paul says all the Old Testament accounts are written for our understanding today. Hosea writes that the prophets spoke to us in similitudes or similarities. Thus, what happened to Israel and Judah in the prophecies applies in principle to the church today, the New Testament "Israel of God" (Galatians 6:16). Further, what is occurring in the church today is similar to what is occurring and prophesied to occur in the physical nations of Israel. It may not unfold in exactly the same detail, but very similarly. What understanding this concept opens up to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear!

Matthew 16:4
Jesus Christ had had this conversation before in Matthew 12:40, where He defines His terms: "For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

The Holy Spirit will let you know if its pleasing to God or not.
It's up to you to listen and turn away from it or continue it.
Is it really worth it?
