Verse of the Day for Wednesday, August 8, 2018:

For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. — Psalm 149:4

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

Jesus, who left heaven and made himself a servant, did so to enable the last to be first, the servant to be greatest, and the least to be best. For ages, the arrogant, the abusive and the powerful have found it easy to reject the call of Christ — after all he died and they're "important" and have no need for a Savior. But those who are humble find him to not only be Savior, but also Conqueror, King, and Friend.

My Prayer...

Precious Servant, Almighty King, thank you for coming to our world and serving us at great cost and showing us that we can reign with you. I look forward to the day every other knee will join mine as I bow before you as my Lord. Until that day, I pray that you will use me to bless those so often forgotten by our busy and glamour-intoxicated world. To our God be glory and praise for sending you, Jesus my Lord. In the holy name of Jesus I offer my praise. Amen.

Verse of the Day for Thursday, August 9, 2018:

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. — Luke 12:6-7

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

In a universe so vast, what is our little planet? In a planet so diverse and so full of life, what are simple everyday people? Among all the billions of people alive and who have lived before us, what significance do I have? Jesus reminds us that our significance is great — not because we are so important, but because we are known personally by God. We don't have to be afraid; we are known and loved by the One who is and was and is to come!

My Prayer...

Eternal God, Almighty Father, Tender Shepherd, you already know my heart. You know where I struggle with sin; please empower and forgive me. You know my fears; please encourage and strengthen me. You know my immaturity; please nurture and mature me. You know my weakness and disease, please comfort and heal me. Holy God, I am both awed and comforted that you know me and love me. Thank you! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

When I feel the weight of this world heavily upon my shoulders, I pray asking my Heavenly Father for His divine mercy and grace!
He always delivers in ways that I cannot or may not see.
Yet, I know.
My advice to those reading this, stop trying to control the situation(s) surrounding you.
It was never yours' to attempt to control.
All is according to God's Will.
Ask Him to reveal His divine Will, allow it and step back.
Soon, it will come to pass.... - George Anthony Meza

A heads up.
Any one else not getting notifications in their E mails of OPP responses?
I have had none starting yesterday, and I always have many in the morning when I open my E mail in box.

I turned off those notifications 4 years ago when I was getting too many.

Verse of the Day for Friday, August 10, 2018:

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. — Psalm 46:1

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

Where can we go when all the walls fall and all the armies crumble and all hope is lost? To the eternal God, who is our Father. He preserved Israel through the most difficult of times, protected the Bible from those who would eradicate it, and has led his Church through troubles and triumphs through the centuries. He will do the same with us until he brings us home to himself.

My Prayer...

My Rock, My Hope and My Protector, I thank you for preserving my life. I thank you for hearing my cries for help and healing. I thank you for guiding my feet into ways that have been a blessing. Please, O God, stay close by as I face the stresses and challenges in my life. Through your Spirit, enable me to grow and be an example to others as I pass through life's storm. In the name of Jesus, my Savior and Lord, I ask it. Amen.

In this day and age, persecution of the followers of our faith in Christ no longer needs to be a physical one.
It can now be done from a basement, coffee shop, the workplace, or anywhere else without ever seeing or knowing the persecutor.

Free speech vs h**e speech

Friday, August 10, 2018

In the early days of the commercialization of the internet, those of us working in the space were committed to freedom of speech and building on a platform where ideas could flow unimpeded at the speed of the wire. It was a time when invention was flourishing. Free speech was unlimited in this wild west of technology. It was an open network that revolutionized how people communicated, conducted commerce, and expressed their beliefs. There was good and bad, but the information superhighway brought people closer together, afforded opportunity to evangelize the Word of God, and increased opportunity for those who would take advantage of it. Today, however, that freedom is dwindling fast.

Technology companies like Apple, Yahoo, Google, YouTube, Facebook, Spotify, and others pledged to be open to all forms of expression and ideas in the beginning. These companies lured people into their platforms using as bait a sense of freedom and security. They built empires based on masses of people using their free and open services. Then came along their politics-an extreme l*****t nature where their strength in numbers allows them to dictate political thought. They sold out to the l*****ts in government who used these open platforms to spy on Americans, and now many of them are making up their own definitions of h**e speech and shutting down people who disagree with them.

Not surprising those who disagree with them and are most vulnerable to Silicon Valley's political intolerance and ideological bigotry are conservative thought leaders. Make no mistake that Christians who openly share the Lord, and also voice opposition to a******n and sexual deviation are in the cross-hairs. A New York Times editorial by University of Richmond Professor Erik Nielson is questioning the use of h**e speech to shut down conservatives the left considers extreme "because "h**e" is a dangerously elastic label, one that has long been used in America to demonize unpopular expression. If we become overzealous in our efforts to limit so-called h**e speech, we run the risk of setting a trap for the very people we are trying to defend."

Nielson then lists those who could fall into that trap if it were applied according to "h**e speech" criteria: Black L***s M****r, Black Nationalists groups like the Nation of Islam, the Women's March (because it was organized by questionable groups), the Palestinian-led Boycott, and Divestment and Sanctions Movement against Israel. Nielson's fear is that if the h**e speech argument is prosecuted equally, the extreme l*****t resistance would be shut down-those, he says, are the people "we can least afford to lose." It's an admission that "h**e speech" restrictions are designed to protect the h**ers and quell their opposition. Ultimately, the opposition is God and the target is religious free speech. May we always, as Ephesians 6:19 exhorts, "open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel" in following God, not man.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Why do so many go in the wrong direction?

Maybe because they think the world can provide for them more than our good, good Father above?
