Is anyone else as offended as I am with the term "wealth redistribution"... I grew up in an era that taught us that we could have anything we wanted if we were willing to work for it. Wealth is to be EARNED not demanded.

Wealth redistribution is a basic tenent of C*******m. It is a bad idea because it is directly opposite human nature. Humans, as economic and rational animals, always want more. Those who are willing to risk failure in order to obtain more are rewarded. Otherwise, wealth acquisition can only be obtained through blind luck (lottery syndrom) or unjust theft. All of this needs to be balanced upon the scales of basic justice. During a time of need, charity should be available. Government charity, however, is tainted by the enormous overhead of tax collection, bureaucracy gone wild, union regulations - the list goes on and on. No one should freeze to death or starve. The poor are, however, not necessarily entitled to the goodies that may be owned by those in more positive economic circumstances. Similarly, those who have should be the primary and voluntary source of funds for those who do not have.

You were taught properly. Wealth is to be earned, not demanded. Demanding wealth redistribution is anti Constitution. The US Constitution tells us the government cannot take what is rightfully ours, that we can be secure in our persons and places of residence. Obviously we have some politicians who have never even read the Constitution regardless of the fact most of them are lawyers. Could it be they are lousy lawyers, hence fall back on politics to obtain their wealth? I read just this morning about a couple who lost their day cabin in Colorado because it posed a "health hazard" - it had no running water. They fought the claim in court to the tune of $75,000.00, yet lost to the government. This is NOT RIGHT. My garage has no running water to it too - wonder when the feds will come and take my garage because it poses a health hazard?

Wealth distribution is a politically correct name for c*******m. When all the wealth is distributed all of "We the People" will be poor and Government dependent and that's exactly what progressives are hoping for (many don't know their own wishes).
