Note the Headline and not what the Rabi actually said. Subtle, but effective.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/funerals-11-synagogue-shooting-victims-begin-trump-heads/story?id=58846431

Headline - "Rabbi says he won't meet with Trump as synagogue shooting victims' funerals begin"

What he actually said - "I have no plans at this time for any involvement" with Trump's visit, Myers told CNN. "My attention will be with the family. I have a funeral, and I must tend to their needs."

The press can claim they aren't lying and technically, they aren't. Or are they. Saying he "won't" meet with Trump has implications, whereas saying "I have no plans to" is an entirely different thing. This is just a small example of "f**e news" and how it works.

There is a reason that "guests" are discouraged before the funeral. It is not just tradition, which is a big thing with us, it has to do with Torah law. Before the person or people are buried, that time is for family and friends to think about life and honor the dead.
During this time, the grieving do not accept visitors or even condolences.
After the individual is buried, we sit Shiva, this lasts for a week. After this, then friends or acquaintances may approach the family with words of comfort and condolences.
For folks that are not Jewish, this may seem odd. But, it is tradition and law.
Most do not understand why we do not have open caskets... that has to do with both tradition and law... but mainly because the body is not 'made up' or adorned. The "box" is plain, in tradition, the bottom is loose so the body can be returned quickly to the earth, the body is dressed in a simple nightgown, and no person, by law, can stare at the body.

So, when a thousand Jews asked President Trump and others to stay away until the proper grieving and burial has taken place it was not because he was unwanted .... but rather observance of tradition and law.

You'd think someone would bring this out in the news.

Actually, Ryan is quite often incorrect about things. In this case, it can be changed but it will be immediately challenged for the SCOTUS to decide. He could even do the same with a******n for the very same reason; to get it into the SCOTUS.

So anti-Semitic, anti-G-d lefties protest President Trump's visit to the synagogue, yet he has demonstrated that he is pro-Jewish people and pro-Israel ever since taking office, yet the same l*****ts who supported B. Hussein Obama, who was as anti-Semitic as Rudolph Hess, suddenly care?

Those hypocritical ben zonim are symptomatic of the t***sparent insincerity of today's Democrats.

I can't understand why the Jews h**e Trump but love obama. Baffling that the Jews love the man who h**es them and h**e the man who loves them.

It's just the liberal ones, especially the "reform Jews," but most Orthodox Jews I know, and I know a few, are political conservatives.

obama and bb didn't get along and that's easy to understand but Obama gave them a lot of money and that's all our relationship is about anyway.
they can blow our ships out of the water and we do nothing
