The Vicious Cycle of Apathy Towards Tyranny in Amerika

Nuclearian Loc: I live in a Fascist, Liberal State

Recently one of my friends and I were discussing the d********g level of apathy by the American public towards the tyrannical behavior of the US government, its agencies and its individual officials. The definition of the word “Apathy” via Wikipedia is defined as: “a lack of feeling, emotion, interest, or concern. It is a state of indifference, or the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, motivation, and/or passion.

An apathetic individual has an absence of interest in or concern about emotional, social, spiritual, philosophical and/or physical life and the world.” That pretty much sums up the attitude and state of mind of the vast majority of the American population in regards to the treasonous, criminal behavior being perpetrated on them by their own government.

Let’s briefly look at some recent examples of this Tyranny:

1.) The level of crony capitalism and financial crimes that have been committed in recent years including the blatant rigging and manipulation of every possible financial market. Even though this has been greatly exposed and accepted as t***h, few individuals have been prosecuted or jailed as a result.

2.) The last 4 Presidents of the United States have shown complete and total disregard for the American Constitution and the American legislative process by abusing the Executive Signing Order powers usurped by their offices in order to subjugate the citizenry of this country.

2.) The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has been turned into a financial assassination squad used to destroy individuals, organizations, and corporations who have become political enemies of the State.

3.) Eric Holder, the head of the Department of Justice and chief law enforcement officer of the Federal Government is a criminal who is blatantly guilty of Perjury and Contempt of Congress, and many other crimes too numerous to list here, crimes that would otherwise land your average citizen in a federal prison for many years.

4.) The NSA/ FBI / CIA and God knows who else have engaged in massive unconstitutional / illegal surveillance and data collection operations against millions of Americans under the guise of “National Security”.

5.) The level of extreme brutality by the police in America, and the formation of a totally militarized police state across the United States. Here we see Chief Ken Geddes posing with the Preston, Idaho PD’s shiny new MRAP.

6.) The deliberate destruction by government of any means for individuals to be self-sustaining or self-sufficient, including the excessive over regulation and interference of independently owned farms or ranches. Laws as ridiculous as criminalizing the collection of rain water on your own property.

7.) Our government using the label of potential “D******c T*******ts” in reference towards groups of American Veterans, Christians, Libertarians, Constitutionalists, Gun Owners, and “Sovereign Citizens”.

The items mentioned above are just a few recent examples that barely scratch the surface of Government Tyranny in America, and obviously don’t include any of the false f**g psychological operations, and outright lies conducted and perpetrated against American citizens, or their allies. We cannot forget to mention the illegal wars and foreign entanglements conducted by the American Industrial Complex, or the irresponsible and destructive fiscal policy being carried out against the US Dollar by the not so federal “Federal Reserve”. Even after mentioning all of these items, we still don’t have a totality of tyranny! Hopefully, you get the point. We are not talking about a few isolated examples tyranny.

So, why do most Americans turn such a blind eye towards all of this tyrannical criminal behavior which is perpetrated on them by many of the very people they think they elect into office? (I say they “think” they elect people into office because many of us know the popular v**e is not exactly how the so called “democratic process” works as we have been taught since childhood, but that is another story!) Is it that they simply don’t care? Are they “too busy” or too self-absorbed? Are they so dejected that they feel they no longer have a stake in the game anymore? Have they simply given up hope because they feel they are too insignificant to impact a change? I am sure there are a lot of t***hs to some of these points. However, I also feel that a large portion of the population has been dumbed down over the last 30 years or so, completely by design. If someone is ignorant of an issue it certainly does not make them immune from wh**ever ill effects or results that issue creates.

I think the main reason we see such a level of apathy in our society is because people don’t care about issues they don’t feel they have a stake in, regardless of whether they understand those issues or not. For example, someone who is not a gun owner or has no desire to ever own a gun may not care about the importance of why we have a Second Amendment. Someone who is not a farmer or rancher may not care about the federal government stealing land that does not belong to them. In my opinion, Apathy is created by the “I don’t care if it doesn’t affect me, or things I care about” attitude. This is very dangerous and a very slippery slope. Not only is this attitude common; it’s probably the norm for the vast majority of Americans. How else would you explain how we have fallen so far, so fast?

Most people don’t understand how our liberties and rights are connected together. They don’t understand that there are definite paths which may take you to losing one right that you don’t care about, to losing one that you definitely DO care about. When people don’t care about their own civil liberties and rights because they don’t think it affects them, it is probably one of the most self-destructive mental attitudes that they can adopt. The “proof”… as they say, is in the pudding, and for many of us here who do understand where we have arrived, there is no denying that we are living in a state of tyranny.

One thing that never ceases to amaze me is the outright denial by some people that tyranny exists, even when they are confronted with it at point blank range. For example: I have seen people deny that there is such a thing as a “First Amendment Zone”. They say…”That can’t be…it’s impossible.” Yet we have seen these “zones” on numerous occasions across America over the last few years at political /campaign events, public protests and demonstrations, and recently in the Nevada Bundy Ranch standoff. Fortunately, these ‘zones” received such wide media coverage in Nevada; they were quickly dismantled once main stream media arrived and started covering the Bundy Ranch event. For many people this was proof positive that the Right to Free Speech is now limited to a “zone” instead of a nation. For many other people this was the first time they had heard of such a thing, and they still don’t know what to believe, even though they saw it with their own eyes.

Wh**ever reason people have for being apathetic towards tyranny regardless of if they recognize it or not, the outcome or response by those who are awake and aware seems to be Apathy towards those who are Apathetic. What I mean by that is people who do recognize the tyranny in their government, and recognize those who don’t care, or… those who support the tyranny directly or indirectly, will not respond kindly when the system inevitably falls apart. Why should we care about them, when not only did they not care about us, they did not care about themselves! Apathy towards apathy.

Personally, I will not give a s**t about my Obama bumper sticker having neighbor who I know has eagerly supported every tyrannical action of this current regime, or anyone else who falls into that category. If there is an event in this country which leads people of this type to find themselves in a situation where they have no food, no water, and no means to defend themselves or their families, they may find themselves in a position to where they need to contemplate the definition of apathy for themselves.

This may sound harsh to some people, and even though at times I have almost wished it would happen out of pure frustration, it does not make people like “Mr. Obamabumpersticker” less deserving of being responsible for their actions or inactions. I don’t think many of the people who have allowed the tyranny to reach the levels it has will ever look in the mirror and question if perhaps their lackadaisical attitude had something to do with their current bad situation or their possible demise. It’s not in their natures to do something like that, as they have been indoctrinated to shift the blame to someone or something else. If we have an event takes place in this country where basic necessities are no longer available and people need to fend for themselves for a period of time, fortunately, there are now millions of people (like many of you reading this) who are better prepared. What will your attitude be to the “Mr.Obamabumpersticker” in your neighborhood? I can’t speak for anyone else, but I know that I am not going to worry too much about him. He made his bed, and I want him lay in it weather he understands why he is in it, or not. I guess that’s another example of apathy towards apathy. It’s a vicious cycle. Sometimes when you remove / reduce, or take away the pain and consequences of making bad decisions from people, they tend to have a nasty habit of not learning their lesson, and making the same mistake over and over again. Unfortunately, many people are destined only to learn the hard way.

History shows us that when a society shows high levels of apathy towards tyrannical behavior by its own government, the results can be very deadly. As much as I like to try and be optimistic, I don’t see the trend of tyranny reversing itself anytime soon. While I am not much of a believer in the political process anymore, it will be interesting to see if the 2014 midterm e******ns reflect any change in the level of apathy of the American people. 2014 could be one of the last chances we have to make a peaceful improvement.

Best Wishes & Stay Safe!

I read your entire post. It is well written and made some good points. I'm not sure, however, that I agree with the chief premise. People often v**e for candidates based upon who is the lesser of two evils. I like many things about our president but I am not blind. I realized lately that I have usually v**ed for the person who I thought was least likely to start WWIII. That is called enlightened self-interest.

Most of us accept that presidents, like spouses, will never have all of the items on our "shopping list". Most of us as we get older know that life means a steady stream of compromises. The only people who live unc*********d lives are fictional characters in books.

You seem outraged at the lack of outrage. You view it as apathy. Many of the rest of us view our circumstances as just what to expect of life on earth.

My father taught me to realize that civilization is at best a very thin veneer. Just under that veneer, lies the "tooth and claw" animal world that we must all try to keep at bay.
Keeping that at bay is the most I expect of any leaders.

I don't v**e for Republicans. Why? They seem all too eager to unleash that lock and load "tooth and claw world".

Your list is sorely lacking. Where's any word Miley Cyrus' new love interest or Kim Kardashian's recent bad taste in dresses? Talk about apathy.

One source of the problems with our fellow citizens apathy is
the constant vile repugnant loud obnoxious ways of the far left when attempting to defend the indefensible. I'm thinking they have become so emboldened by their low-life leader's antics that they have found their voices and feel they have clear skies ahead in which to spew venom.
I have had liberal friends for a very long time however two of them have gone stark staring over the top nuts these past few years. During this same time there has been a tremendous upswing in trolls on the internet causing as much disruption as possible in an attempt to stomp out calm discourse. I truly believe there is a concerted effort in silencing the right by nauseating us into submission. AIN'T HAPPENING

A lot of it is Americans take for granted that they will always have the freedoms they grew up with, it's the it can't happen here belief. Then there is the undisguised bias of the media, that no loner even pretends to be objective, that happily tells us that this corruption is the"new normal",so many times one would just like to shake these fools and somehow make them open their eyes, because guess what you get when you accept tyranny

I'll get serious. The reason for the supposed apathy is the fear- and h**e-mongering by certain individuals on both side that evoke hopelessness and helplessness that leads to impotent rage at fellow Americans rather than at the source: a Congress bought and paid for that has been the very worst in our history.
This recent partisan war was started by Newt Gingrich; this is well-documented but inconsequential. What is consequential is the self-defeating acts by the citizens growing in total distrust and animosity for anything suggesting even in the slightest way a difference of opinion. 9/11 hurt us to the bone and scared the bejesus out of us, and we have not recovered. Add a devastating financial crisis just seven years later and we have the explanation for our present state and actions. Take a breath, America.

I agree wholeheartedly!

The only solution at this time seems to be the enlightenment of the under informed and civil disobedience.

The MSM is totally involved in this apathy. We must push the t***h at every point.

And, yes, there are people on this site who are professional trolls.

"In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet someone planned it that way." Franklin Delano Roosevelt. I might add that wh**ever "it" happens to be, an uninformed, uncaring e*****rate makes it easier. The intolerant on both ends of the spectrum, who would silence all opposition, cannot seem to grasp that one cannot compare apples to oranges when you have only apples. In order to make a choice, you must have a choice.
My choice is Libertarian, because while some government is necessary, and desirable, what we have now is a Brobdignagian horror show. Individual Liberty carries with it Individual Responsibility. Big Government is anathemic to the individual. I started to say you don't solve problems by giving more authority to the cause of the problems, but the root cause of the problem is the individual citizen, who can tell you everything about "American Idol" last night, but has no idea how his or her congressman v**ed last week, or why they v**ed that way, or in many cases, even who their congressman is.
When, in the early days of the Republic, v****g was restricted to property owners, the reasoning was that people with something to lose would make more informed decisions. Now those decisions are made, all too many times, by people with nothing to lose. In his book "Expanded Universe," the late Robert Heinlein compared the decline of the US with the Roman Empire; a fairly homongenous Republic becoming a sprawling, multicultural polyglot Empire. People who had no "skin in the game" were made citizens, by unscrupulous politicians who would sell their children for a v**e. An entire class of "citizen" arose, with an eye out for number one. They found that they could v**e themselves "bread and circuses" by electing a certain type of politician. These people, who contributed nothing, received unheard of benefits and largesse from a government that myopically cared about nothing but the next "e******n." The military, and the infrastructure was allowed to languish in pursuit of "everything for everybody." The Roman road system, a wonder of the ancient world, fell into disrepair. The Roman Army, the most feared in the world, had it's ranks filled by foreigners who served in exchange for citizenship. When Rome fell to the army of Odoacer in 476 AD, he and most of his soldiers had recieved their military training in the Roman Army.

Sadly the most vocal in response to troubles in general are the teabaggers who notice the smell but do not have a clue where it is coming from. Not to mention all they accomplish is to take the focus off the original offense.

If you read the bottom of the article, then you know the source. But dont bother. I can tell in your response that you cannot understand the tea baggers as the anti apathy crowd, and YOU are one of the apathy crowd. YOU are part of the problem, and those who are apathetic to the apathetic types mentioned in the article.
