Nowadays it is very hard to find common ground between the liberals and the conservatives, yet I may have found one.

I was so upset at the actions of Barrack Obama in 2014 that I put my trust in the Lord, Our God!

I started a topic that ran for 151 days called Praying for America through the Psalm of David.
It was successful. I invited all walks of faith to pray to God. At the time, I felt that God was the answer as I do now.

I am thinking about starting the topic up again. However, instead of having it just a conservative thread, I want to invite my liberal friends to it. I only ask that you pray to God from the heart after I post the Psalm. Since this topic is for prayer and prayer only, I ask that you only pray to God as if you are typing your grievances to Him and Him alone. Not to our fellow members that post political gargen that end up causing arguments. The purpose of the re-boot is to pray to God, for we are a faithful nation. Second, it is to give an escape to us from the cut throat politicians on this site, and relax in the family of God.

bdamage, Beark, and even AuntieEm, joined me in the last adventure through the psalms and it brought peace and hope to the conservatives, that we journeyed with. Now, the stakes are higher. It is not that God, put Trump into office. God made Saul, king of Israel and he was regarded as an evil king. No, but that the people needed a new fresh perspective. It worrys me that the people are not getting the point.

So to chase the evil fears away, and to reunite America, I thought of doing the Thread again. But mind you this rule of the topic is this:

Be respectful of each other's posts when they are in prayer. When I am in prayer, I will begin it with, "In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen" I will conclude my prayer with the same. This is what I do. Every person has a different way of praying. Now mind you, when you pray, pray from the heart. Someone may be sent by God, to help you through your problems.

If we are adults here, we can respect each others viewpoints and religious asperations. We should be able to respect each other's prayers to the Almighty too.

We need to re-unite this country, and the best way to do it is in prayer. We, Americans are a family. And the family that prays together stays together.

I understand the negative feelings that the Democrats and liberals feel towards the conservatives. This comes with being intolerant to different points of view and perspective. I get that. But I cannot condone the hatred. I have been called everything under the son, from a Saint, or an Angel, to a bigot and a r****t. I am none of these, I am a Human. I am a Man. And being a Man, I sometimes go too far in my principles, where I need to step back and reevaluate myself, and prayer helps out with that.

I am also Roman Catholic and have a Roman Catholic Conservative view point, but being one of God's children in the quest for wisdom and knowledge, I will entertain a variety of views. Some I will agree with, others I will disagree with. But when presenting these problems to the Lord Our God, I will not interfere with that conversation. I will keep it as written.

So coming up with this idea, I wanted to ask anyone who stumbles upon this topic, whether I should reopen the Topic and go for another 151 day journey. This time I want all Americans to join it. Whether they be Jews, Christians(which includes all denominations from Catholic to Baptist, Mormon, Pentecostal, or even Evangelists. All Christians anyone who believes in Christ), I would also welcome Muslims. For all are God's children.

Through Christ, all can gather together peacefully, and be civil with one another. Although some may not believe in Christ, we must make them feel welcome in my topic. The topic of my idea, is based upon a story I was once told. I read it online from a woman who's son was a Navy Seal. He was sent away to get Bin Laden during the Obama administration. So they made a pact to pray, once a day, starting with the first verse of the Psalms of David, and meditate on the Psalm. For 151 days, the woman did not know the whereabouts or the status of her son. She said the last Psalm and the next day, he returned to her unharmed. Inspired by this story, I started in 2014, Praying for America, through a Psalm of David.

Many conservatives, including myself, disagreed with the Obama administration and were attacked by them. On this website alone, I was cussed out and labeled a bigot. But everyday, I would post the Psalm and a prayer. And everyday the attacks would keep coming. When I ended the first journey through the Psalms, I started a second journey. Then a third until work picked up and I could no longer write them. It was Christmas time of 2015, when I ended one of the journeys and that was the time when Trump was running for President. Eventually, He would win. From January of 2014 until November of 2016, I was unemployed and had no degree. And I watched the hatred of the Democrats demoralizing me and what I stood for. Posting the Psalms was the only way, I could do anything. Then in June of 2016, I graduated and by November I was working again. Steadily and Trump was president. Go figure.

Prayer does work. If you are Conservative today, do you remember when you were liberal, yesterday? No person is strictly one or the other, you are either liberal or conservative your whole life through, you are a combination of both. I have learned this, when I watch all these groups fighting each other, for what? I mean really? For what? To everything there is a purpose, we live, we die, we make war, we make peace, we love and we h**e. I promise that if we try this simple journey through the Psalms of David, that some will revolt, but the greater majority will try to work together.

However, I am wondering what you think? Would you post your prayers, to take advantage of this good will, I am attempting to spread? I comment once a day, after work. So let me know if you want to try this. Comment below. Please respond to me. Thank you and God Bless you all, liberals and conservatives alike. We must end this feud between us. That is a must. How will you do it? Our future is in all of our hands.

Thank you for your reply,

I think it could work if we sit down together and try. All I'm asking is to try. If it fails, we just lose an hour a day, for 151 days. Is that really too hard to do? Considering some of us live to 25,550 days old? So could we spare one hour per day, for 151 out of 25,550 days (that's 70 years btw). Also if it fails, were in no better shape then we were when we started.

It doesn't matter who or how many join in prayer for our nation, God will hear us, one and all. Personally, I never cease to pray for my country, its leaders, and its people. Even for the reprobates among us, in hopes that at least some will step out of the darkness into the light. Wouldn't be the first time a denier of God had an epiphany. The conversion of Saul of Tarsus, the persecutor of Christians, on the road to Damascus is the prime example.

Ranger, Thank you. Prayer is what WE ALL NEED!! It's the only thing that can unite people so divided! People, various groups, and nations have tried everything ese, and it hasn't work. Only makes sense to invite THE PRINCE OF PEACE into the conversation! We al need to remember that,"United WE stand, divided WE fa" Let's stand together, or we'll surely fall apart!

Nowadays it is very hard to find common ground bet... (show quote)

How will, you get liberals to pray? Most on OPP seem to be atheists and mock and joke about God and call us frauds.

I begin each day by reciting the Morning Offering, remembering throughout the day that with God all things are possible, and end each day by saying the Apostles Creed. I find this routine of praying to be a comfort.

Thank you for your responses. The power of prayer is the greatest asset, God ever gave man. Through prayer, enemies can become friends. The poor can be come rich. The lowly can rise up. The down in spirit can find new inspiration. It gives hope to the hopeless. It brings people in depression out of depression. It frees the s***e and empowers the powerless. It makes what seems impossible, possible.

Prayer is the greatest gift, that helps man on his journey in this mortal life, to become immortal and live with God forever. There is a power beyond us working towards a peace, prosperity, and tranquility, for us that is beyond our control. But Prayer can move this power. As society moves government, so does prayer move God. We man never agree on the details, but the rewards will be great if we just spend some time and pray.

When Abraham pleaded with God over the deeds of Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham asked God to spare the cities. Abraham interceded for the inhabitance of Sodom by asking, "If you find 100 people who believe in you, would you spare the city?" God said, "for the sake of the 100, I would". Abraham continued, "If you find 50 people, would you spare the city." God replied, "For the sake of the fifty, I would.", then Abraham pressed God one more time, "If you find 10 people, would you spare the city?" God said, "for the sake of the 10, I would spare the city"

When the angel of God, came to Sodom, all they found was Lot and his family. God spared Lot and his family, with the command, "Turn and flee the city, do not turn back." While fleeing the city, Lot's wife turned back and was turned into a pillar of salt.

When we pray, we must pray in the faith of Abraham and not turn back and watch the wrath of God. The mere presence of God, will destroy us, let alone His Wrath. God has established rules for all of us to live by. These rules are not intended to control you, but they are intended to help you keep an open mind to your neighbor. Give a little and take a little. This is the basis of all of God's laws, precepts, ordinances, etc.

It is the world of Man, that wants to control you. Partly because of fear, and partly because the World of Men are drunk with p***e, power, and lusting for pleasure. Christ usta say, "Would you rather suffer for a time, then recieve pleasure for eternity. Or would you rather receive pleasure for a time and suffer for eternity later?" This is the basis of following God's rules.

Now, the world of Men deceive even the most innocent among us. So, I ask all who want me to start the new, "Praying for America--Through a Psalm of David" to be respectful of each others prayers, and to post your prayer, according to the Psalm that is written for that day. Do not say any negative comments about someone's prayer. We have a whole forum for that. But we will have one thread, that encourages everyone who prays, to use their God given Talents, to encourage their fellow countrymen, to seek peace amongst ourselves.

How can the world achieve peace, if we cannot have peace between us and our neighbors living next door? The Family that prays together Stays together. Grows together and in some cases dies together. So, I ask you, liberals, and I ask you conservatives, to drop your politics for just one hour a day, and judge a person not on his political view, but rather on the beauty of God's love with in the person. Do you think we can accomplish this?
