Trump's longtime personal driver files lawsuit for backpay after 25 years of unpaid overtime

Noel Cintron spent 25 years working as Donald Trump’s personal driver and now he’s filed a lawsuit against his former employer for years of unpaid overtime. According to Blooomberg, he’s seeking compensation for 3,300 hours of overtime during a six-year period. He’s unable to seek compensation for the other 19 years of unpaid overtime due to the statute of limitations.
Cintron says that in 25 years of working for Trump, he only received two raises and the second wage came with a huge catch, a catch that essentially nullified any wage increase at all.
The wage bump in 2010 came with a catch, Cintron said. He was induced to surrender his health insurance, saving Trump approximately $17,866 per year in premiums, according to the lawsuit.
"President Trump’s further callousness and cupidity is further demonstrated by the fact that while he is purportedly a billionaire, he has not given his personal driver a meaningful raise in over 12 years!" Cintron said.
Cintron joins a long line of of people and businesses to be stiffed by “billionaire” Donald Trump.

Trump's generosity with others has been covered by many sources. So you have this one guy who worked for him for 25 years & now complains. If he was so dissatisfied, why didn't he leave his employe?

If you don't get paid, you don't do the work. Nobody works for 25 years without being paid and still hangs around. Again I call BS.

I would imagine that he did not know that he was being c***ted, and trump certainly would not tell him.

Cintron was responsible for driving Donald Trump until the Secret Service took over those duties in 2016. He also drove other Trump family members and business associates, his lawyers say, and handled car maintenance and other “required tasks.”
Trump’s treatment of his driver reflected “an utterly callous display of unwarranted privilege and entitlement,” the lawsuit reads, describing his “exploitation” of Cintron as lacking “even a minimal sense of noblesse oblige.”
“[Cintron] was forced to work thousands of hours of overtime without compensation,” the lawsuit continues. “President Trump’s further callousness and cupidity is further demonstrated by the fact that while he is purportedly a billionaire, he has not given his personal driver a meaningful raise in over 12 years!”
Bloomberg notes that Cintron is a registered Republican, and public records show a man with the same name donated just under $1,000 to Trump’s p**********l campaign in 2016.
A spokesperson for the Trump Organization disputed Cintron’s allegations and said the company never broke the law.
“Mr. Cintron was at all times paid generously and in accordance with the law,” the company said in an emailed statement. “Once the facts come out we expect to be fully vindicated in court.”
This story has been updated with comment from the Trump Organization and Cintron’s lawyer.

Every story has two sides, and I suspect that this one does too. His lawyer said “meaningful raise” not no raise at all. Meaningful, is subjective, and can mean different things to different people. Just because Trump is a billionaire doesn’t mean he has to run a profit sharing plan for his driver.

Moldyoldy, was correct in saying the driver could have quit if he wasn’t satisfied with his pay or treatment. I have heard interviews from dozens of people who have worked for Trump in the past, and said they loved working for him, including many women, who said they were paid on an even scale with the men they worked with. During Hillary’s campaign it was discovered she only paid women seventy six cents on the dollar compared to men, all the while blabbering about Trump’s war on women. I choose not to take this guy too seriously.

We have seen plenty of trumps generosity, he gives to a charity, gets a tax write off, then makes the charity rent his property for the event. Gets the money right back.

He gave him a raise and took away his health insurance, that raise was a loss.

As I have said before moldy you have served your tour of duty and you are allowed your thoughts and speech but on this you didn't list any web site or video to back up your story so I have to call BS on this it all seems to far fetched to be real.

We will have to wait and see how it is settled I know that when I was employed that I had to sign a contract and there were things that I didn't like but if I wanted that particular job these were the restrictions and you either agreed or found another job. If that is the case then Trump would owe nothing as he lived up to his end of the contract and the driver will be SOL. Trump is a business man and I am betting that he had a contract drawn up and the driver signed it. Even if the driver didn't understand it it isn't Trumps fault. I worked many jobs for a salary and didn't get any overtime pay and I cannot sue for that as it was in my contract.

I'm sure his lawyer is aware of his status as an hourly employee, not a salaried person.
Trump showed his smarts with his non existent contract on no nukes.

People from other countries don't always understand our laws, in fact, most right wingers don't either.
