We are in a trade war now. Already there are reports of rising prices on some items and farms and business losing markets or being unable to cope financially. This "war" is predicted to expand. Will it lead to more consumer items available to us that are made in the USA ? Was this needed? and will we slip back in to a recession? Will we come out on top? Your input matters.

I notice food prices are rising and less food products being imported from other countries which is a good sign for American farmers.

I guess we have to take the good along with the bad.

These things tend to snowball, i.e. grow larger as they head downhill. We won't see the full effect right away, but the early signs are definitely troubling.

America cannot win a trade war, certainly not with 80% of the world. Consider this; if worse came to worse, the Chinese Government could impose rationing of food, fuel, and everything else, and the Chinese people would have to accept it since they're c*******t - try that here in the USA and see what happens.

the boob tube are all c*********d and blackmailed. I can name em all.

As far as the executive goes I'd be willing to bet it's still 90% clinton/bush/obama holdovers.
It's difficult to clean all those career bureaucrat slackers out.

What I find interesting is that Trump thinks there is something he can win here. It would be bad enough if this war was simply with one country but Trump has decided to take to all of the world. In steel alone we manufacture 81.6 million metric tonnes of steel in 2017 million metric tonnes which compared to China's 831.7 million metric tonnes is absolutely nothing so how can Trump think we can become competitive? There is no leverage to be found here! If that's not bad enough China has said they are willing to slap tariffs on everything they import from us which would cripple our export business to China!

The problem with Chinese steel is that China has a backdoor to U.S. markets through a practice known as t***sshipment, whereby countries buy Chinese steel and modify it before exporting to the US. The problem here is that Chinese steel t***sshipment is hard to gauge. According to the Section 232 report, that probed the effect of steel and aluminum imports, on US national security said only that an "unknown portion" of Chinese steel is further processed in third-party countries before entering the US. So what does Trump plan on slapping a tariff on--the 4% of steel China claims to export--or the unknown portion of steel China actually exports through t***sshipment?

See the problem? China isn't as stupid as Trump thinks they are and even if Trump knows the t***sshipment problem since the government doesn't know the dept there is no F-ing way he can know the complete depth! So who's going to win that war--the country that imports $578.2 billion from China or the one who exports $115.5 to the China? And here a hint: Trump is an i***t so who is he going to say is the WEEENNERR of that war and what fricking i***ts are going to buy it and meme to everyone else???
