The only way anybody could believe that this country is going in the right direction is if that person was looking backwards. And I don't mean looking back for guidance from our Founders, I mean backwards to the dark ages. The change of our country from a Republic to a Democracy was the beginning of this backwards movement.

The p***e in country has suffered a lot since the 50s and 60s. I don't know just who to blame for it all but I continue to say it is progressives who managed to take over the Democrat party long ago and what they have done to destroy that p***e in country along with the patriotism that that came with it. It is too obvious that our government providing all the "freebies" to people who don't want to work to make headway has destroyed a lot of the love of country among many who just love the "freebies" they can get.

America is losing her status as a "Free Republic" at an alarming rate. the onslaught of democratic attacks on the core values of this country are at the heart of the problem. It's not just the Democrats, but, also groups like the ACLU, the SCOTUS, liberal media bias against the conservative side of the road and others. If you look at the last 50 years, it all started with "Affirmative action", "Woe v. Wade", the sixties sexual revolution, and many other political follies that have corrupted the core values of this country. Please don't get me wrong, equal rights for All is a GOD given right. It can never be legislated into a law. Why? Because "Affirmative action" has elevated the path of some, and has put others into the path of "lost rights". The only way to get the "old" America back is to bring GOD back into the forefront of this country, its schools and into the every day lives of all of America.
America's values and the foundation of this country are all rooted in the belief of God. Our status in the eyes of the rest of the world has desentegrated to the point that we are now a "laughing stock" to every terror group on earth. Every American wants "MORE" from uncle Sam, but by this fact alone we are giving up our freedom of choice and other freedoms at an alarming rate. More Freedom in America can only be had with "LESS" government intrusion into our daily lives. I do not understand how this simple fundamental fact is so hard for American's to comprehend! More government means less freedom, less control over our daily lives and more taxes, controls and laws interfering in our lives!

I previously mentioned that we are becoming a Secular Theocracy. Where Government is becoming the Golden cow. Moreover, God is gradually becoming an (unfortunate Inconvenience ) to the Progressive party. After-all, if you believe in God, than you believe that their is an entity, other than the Government who is responsible for your well being. God forbid I mention "Free Will" , that too is an attribute that is seemingly another (Inconvenient t***h) for the Progressive movement.
That would convey that Americans are thinking on their own. We couldn't have that... The Government knows best.....

The Americans that don't understand this are the ones that live off the government teat. They are so ignorant and lazy, they either can't understand it or simply don't want to understand it. It all started with the b****s and poor white trash being paid for having babies and not working. Now it has been made worse with the Mexican invasion of this country. In nature, the fit adapt and survive and the breed improves. In our society we have a class of people that have no desire to adapt. This has been brought on by the government handout for being lazy and stupid.This brought on by the progressives buying v**es with our money.
This will sound harsh, but so be it. I think all welfare should be stopped except for those that are mentally or physically unable to care for themselves. The rest would be forced to adapt to survive.

Your interpretation is "Spot on" . Since the "Mayflower Compact " and John Winthrops " Model of Christian Charity" God and Nature have been a cornerstone of Americas Constitution. Literally, and Figuratively. You would be hard pressed to find an Elementary or High school that teaches either. The words inscribed on the bottom of the Statue of Liberty were not meant to be taken literally. Unfortunately, "Absolute Power corrupts Absolutely." Any rational thinking adult knows why the Omnipotent one and his cronies are in power, as you stated in your post. Jeremy Bentham,may have very well agreed with this type of Utilitarianism. However, in my humble carpenters opinion, I don't believe his motives would have been to secure v**es and have a Nation of Dependents.
This contradicts all that Our Constitution prescribed. I had a Briefe, intense discourse with a student at the University of Pennsylvania. He suggested (I use the term loosely) that the Constitution, Declaration of Independence were Antiquated and unnecessary. This, coming from one of the most prestigious Universities in Our Country. Needless to say, the conversation grew, and involved eventually a large gathering of students. My heart was troubled, but my resolve never wavered. Through a rational, logical display of the facts, I calmed him down and the crowd began to listen. I didn't want them to see things my way. I simply wanted them (Through Cognitive reasoning) to establish their own logical conclusion.. Some did , as I am positive they will on this site. Others remained defiant and angry. Accusing me of being (Rich and for the Man) . I smiled as I walked back to Independence Square. I was homeless at the time....

Is this a trick question? Our government has been headed in the wrong direction for decades and is just now bearing fruit whose seeds were planted years ago by the US Socialists. They wanted a controlled state and have worked since the turn of the century to have just such a "Utopia". They had to operate under the wire however, as their idea of control wasn't acceptable back then. They got themselves involved in all areas of American life that could wield the most influence on the public, especially young minds that were young and mushy.

When they graduated enough mushy brains from indoctrination classes (public schools and universities), it became safer and safer to surface. With the e******n of Obama, they believe they are safe to show their true colors, which consist of black hearts, icy cold blue minds, and skin purple with rage that the rest of us should be allowed to exist beside them what with them being so perfect and all.

I hope everyone is paying attention to the absolute frenzy with which the controllers are FORCING through tons and tons and tons of laws, edicts, regulations, orders, etc to truly BIND every American in such a way as to be unable to find any way out of the slop the controllers have created. They MUST SUCCEED because re-entering the closet they have recently vacated would be to admit defeat, and everyone KNOWS that socialists DO NOT ADMIT DEFEAT. It's being an exciting ride - the controllers do know how to stir people, and if karma has anything to do with the entire fiasco, the controllers are in for one huge surprise - hope they are ready for it. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes.

Yes , this subversive behavior has been indoctrinated into the youths psyche for generations. Why did you, old Roy, Dutchman, the rest of the 51 % v****g public myself included not fall pray to this Ideology. Now don't misunderstand me , however, I think a majority are just plain unintelligent. No, I do not equate Education with Intelligence. They certainly are not synonymous. I mean, we saw cryptic writing on the cave walls decades ago. Hell, I have been fighting this since college. I am relatively speaking, an old man. I still have a good bit of fight in me. I found myself in the group of left leaning people in college until one day I delivered a "heckling speech" in a speech class and all of a sudden I saw what I had maybe done. I chose to speak about becoming C*******t to that class of 19 year olds and after painting the rosy picture with not one bit of heckling realized that I may have created something I didn't want to create. I panicked and started trying to point out some of the weaknesses of C*******m and then the heckling started. I begged them to explain to me how and when the Dictatorship of the Proletariat would end as promised. Too many of them didn't seem to care and this was all in 1952. if that many had been reached that early in the Cold War period think about the recent past and how many have been convinced.

I had already read from C*******ts of the 1920s and 1930s about how they viewed college students who were such easy targets since they were finally away from their parents' influences.

Yes, some of us served during the Cold War in places where we could fight against what was in control in Europe and even with C*******ts in Europe. More than once I was involved in direct combat with civilian C*******ts and don't think they knew why we Americans used our fists on their heads while they were trying to slap us.

I didn't leave the left leaners till they nominated McGovern who was an admitted Socialist and then I had to leave them where they were and now I find that that party is controlled by what I call progressives or progs.

It is good to have you on our side oldroy. I have been trying very hard to come up with a reason why the left leaners think like they do and I feel I have finally come up with the answer. It involves the drinking and/or drugs that they so fervently support. The continued use of these has damaged the section of their brain where "common sense" is housed, therefore, they no longer have the ability to think rationally. This leaves them as easy targets for the socialist agenda.

That is conveniently what the progressives call the Logical side of reason. If you fly in the face of Conventional Wisdom, you are frowned upon. After-all, no one stood up to Hitler until he Gassed 6 million Jews. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find the t***h. Let alone, speak it. America is polarized and Pissed off at this juncture in History. The writers can profess what they will. However, if any care to seriously review the Facts they will find nothing Liberating about this time in History. Moreover, they will recognize a dictator infused with power. Liberty and Tyranny will be the topic of discussion. Those are the diametrically opposed forces tearing America apart.

Actually, you might be surprised to know how many people I know around here who do live off the grid - quite a number and that number is growing. We are rural, somewhat isolated - have trees, rocks, and hills to hide behind and canyons in which to seek cover. Everyone I know here and in Texas is getting ready for the collapse of either our economy OR our government. Either presents a horrendous problem for the nation, but if people can still think positively, it could be our very earthly salvation from the controllers. We may be harmed, may be k**led, but surprised we will NOT be. Wanna know what I think? I think knowledgeable people are better prepared for the collapse than are the politicians who are causing it and those who deny it can happen. ;)
