Nowhere does the intent of this obligation suggest that we should be limited to weaponry insufficient to meet this solemn obligation and any armed force which attempts to subvert or usurp our Constitution...

Assualt is a verb, not an adjective...a weapon must be picked up in order to be used in an assault.

Guns are motionless objects and are incapable of committing an assault without a human being to do the assaulting...

The rhetoric being used by those who attempt to usurp our constitutional and inalienable rights,. are committed by those who will become the very threats we are obligated to protect our constitution from!!!

The Constitution and Federal Law and Statutes are the law of the land... Any State, County, or Local Municipalities who attempt or succeed in passing, Laws, Statutes, Ordinances, Rules Or Regulations which are contrary to the Constitution are guilty of attempting to subvert or usurp the Law of the Land, therefore are guilty of s******n...

Politicians who prompt or promote these types of Statues, ordinances, rules or regulations are therefore guilty of attempting to subvert our constitution and therefore become the very domestic threat we are obligated to defend against...

In essence, all Politicians who are attempting to change the second amendment or eliminate the second amendment are also guilty of s******n and should be impeached, arrested, tried and when found guilty sentenced to the harshest sentence that the law provides...

Any State, County or Local Municipalities which ban the purchase or ownership of "assault" labeled weapons are guilty of treasonous acts against our nation and our people by attempting to subvert the Constitution and the obligation of the citizens to defend our Constitution from all threats...

They themselves become the very threat we seek and are obligated to defend against...

Patriots time is nearing quickly to stand and deliver on our obligation as defined in the Second Amendment to our Constitution... Time to lock and load Patriots, and prepare to defend our constitution from the domestic threat now emerging by those who seek to take away our obligation as American citizens, by usurping the second amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America...

Very true. Should we give up the second amendment we will, in short order, lose all our freedoms. We will be at the mercy of any takeover by foreign or domestic pressure and/or force.

I have been preaching that for years. All of the employees here are ex military and most are in their fiftys or older. The youngest is in her mid twenties and we refer to her lovingly as "Old Mother Nurse".

She is. An ex Navy nurse who lost her husband on an accident. Her father was a chief petty officer and works here. We are all family and loyal American patriots.

People should study history. In WWII, the Japanese were seriously considering an invasion of the United States but didn't do it because they were afraid of facing not just our military forces but of facing an armed citizenry. It has always been a part of our national defense. Now other nations are getting emboldened by the gun control lobby and those who want to eliminate the second amendment and disarming us.

While the second amendment does give people the right to own firearms, it does not give anybody the right to enter a school and murder children. As Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, " the constitution is not a suicide pact ". I own two pistols to protect my home, a 9mm Springfield, and a 357 cal S&W revolver. While I wouldn't necessarily shoot anybody entering my house without my knowledge and/or permission, anybody trying to enter my bedroom would see nothing but bullets heading toward them. I believe that weapons like AR 15 assault assault rifles are unnecessary . They were not designed for this purpose. They were meant to be combat weapons in the hands of soldiers. They are now being used by murderers to k**l as many innocent kids as possible in the shortest time.
Nobody really needs them. Lets make sure that they can not be sold to civilians, especially felons and disturbed people.

saltwind 78, No weapons which are dubbed "assault" should be banned from an American Citizen and Patriot just because the enemy has incorrectly assigned a verb (assault) to describe a weapon (noun)... The Second Amendment is not the "right" to bear arms, it is an obligation of all citizens to have ready sufficient firepower and ammo to take on any and all threats both foreign and domestic... Would you prefer to take on an enemy with a .22-7 shot handgun, against the enemy who has an ak47?

The defense of our nation has always been to deter by overwhelming firepower and we will keep it that way even if it means taking on a domestic threat which groups of liberal politicians have decided to become...

The Constitution and our founding fathers in their infinite wisdom included this amendment so that "NO" weapons could be banned from the American citizen's ability to possess and use in the event of threats against our constitution and very way of life become a reality... Therefore any state, county or local municipality which has enacted a policy to ban any weapon is unconstitutional and a direct threat to our constitution and should be repealed or simply ignored...

To suggest that isolated incidents (however very painful and wrong} are only committed because of a weapons ability to discharge ammo at an accelerated rate is convoluted thinking at best... If all guns were banned the kids who were teased and bullied into committing these crimes, to begin with, would merely change their method of k*****g by using gasoline or fashioning their own homemade devices of destruction...

Do not be fooled by media which is attempting to disarm Americans as we are the biggest threat to their success in o*******wing our government and very way of life...

How about holding accountable the kids which bullied the child in the Parkland Florida shootings and set up counseling for those distributed children who get off by berating, teasing, bullying and ostracizing fellow students for the sheer fun of it... That would go a long way to solving the problem instead of trying to weaken our defensive posture as the enemy would have us do...

Intersting set of conflicts:
You say that you own 2 handguns, which combined hold about as many shots as the dreaded "combat weapons".
Your 9MM was designed primarily as a "close quarters combat weapon", but that's OK because it's your choice?
You say that anyone entering your bedroom will "see nothing but bullets heading towards them"?
How many shots would it take you to HIT that intruder, from across your bedroom?
What about the many individuals who simply choose a rifle because they believe the myth that handguns are inherently inaccurate?

Many of the rifles that you decry, are owned by former Service Members, simply because it is the type of weapon
that they were trained to use, and , in most cases, the first firearm that they have ever fired. They choose it because they have confidence
not only in the weapon, but of their ability to employ it effectively and safely.

As for keeping them out of undesirable hands, just as with anything else, all that you can accomplish by banning either sale or possession is,
to create a "black market" in illegal importation and distribution, by the very elements of society that you want to deny them to.

Just look at Chicago to see the results of your "catch the gun, release the criminal" theory, in practical application!

Sales of any kind of fire arms to felons and disturbed people HAD BEEN AGAINST THE LAW FOR YEARS. The only problem is that the black market ignores the laws because money talks louder than laws.

A criminal can always find a fire arm for the right amount of money. Outlawing guns will make matters worse, stiffer mandatory sentences is the answer.

Death sentence for murder with a fire arm. Robbery without a gun minimum thirty years no early release.
