Trudeau is a gentleman and statesman but more importantly his word is good. Trump on the other hand is a boorish buffoon and a repeatedly proven compulsive liar. Under what circumstance should any thinking person take Trumps word over Trudeau’s?

You do realize that Trudeau supports his coutry's 270 % tariff on American milk ? Even such a Trump hating looney toon like Sen. Chuck You Schumer when speaking to New York State farmers had this to say ” They're unfair. They put up barriers. They treat us bad. "

No, Trump is finally the first President in years to stand up for American workers and farmers.

do you understand that milk amounts to .02% of trade.. A little cherry picked I would say..

As a counter to the milk tariff, we p ut a nearly the same tariff on buttermilk.. I guess we were trying to bring culture to the table... LOL get it>>>

Canada trying to protect their family farmers.. The US protects the super corporations...

rather then fuss over milk and cheese, a tiny part of the exchange.. the steel and aluminum tariff on Canada will affect what we pay for manufactured goods..

maybe even beer...

To not even mention the allied friendship factor..

the wrong is that tariffs are hampering trade.. they have been in place in one level or another for near the life of this Nation..

Should we end them all??? make an argument for that. Maybe a good idea.. Why haven't the brain-trust worked on the idea?

But I would not call it ass kissing.. They are, supposedly put in place to help one group of biz. Hopefully without hurting any other group..

If they all go into play, it seems this time that more harm then help will be the result..

trade is down from the last few years and if it becomes a little worse, the public will notice the added cost.

" Canada trying to protect their family farmers.. "

Why do you believe Canadian farmers are better than American farmers ? I can tell that you know nothing about the American Dairy Industry. It has got to be the toughest way to make a living in America. Bankruptcies and suicides are common in the industry.

The facts are that most of America's trading partners make out better than we do. Trump is trying to sort out the unfairness. Actually right now is great timing on Trump's part to negotiate with our trading partners. They will try retaliating right now, but with the economy so strong their efforts will fail. America can deal with the short term pain better than during a recession. We are the biggest market on Earth.

They have to sell to us. We do not have to buy from them. If they want a trade war, okay. We will win. We can sell within America far better than they can sell within their own countries. Their comments are meant for the anti Trump media. Again, if there was something to worry about the stock markets all over the World would be crashing right now, because everyone would be hurting.

I'm glad I vacationed in Canada LAST summer rather than this one. I'd have to spend half my time apologizing for that goonish oaf we call a president.

So you have no answer. I've never liked tariffs but at least Trump has shown the people the unfairness of it all. Why hasn't this been shown before? Because politicians owe favors to the people and corporations that donate to them. Not just ours either. If we just keep the status quo nothing changes. I guess you're fine with sucking hind tit.
