If that statement of mine seems to make no sense, perhaps you can understand why your own statements are difficult to make sense of. That jibe is meant to be helpful rather than hurtful...my own statements are often so complicated in wording and references to be nonsensical. So both of us need to simplify our postings so they make more sense to others. OK?

Johnny, I remember you used to mock me for comparing these times to the interwar period. Apparently someone else on this site clearly identified one critical faction of the upcoming war: the Muslim Brotherhood. Since 1928, they have been plotting the o*******w of secular governments, primarily secular Muslim governments. They are ruthless, murderous, rapacious, and practice taqiyya (intentional deception -- lying).
In Algeria, the Brotherhood first intervened in the war of independence in the 1950s-60s. They turned a revolutionary, anti-colonial struggle into a war for Sharia. They turned what was a revolutionary coterie loosely modeled on Ho Chi Minh's fighters in Vietnam into a completely depraved Islamic fighting force, a mujahideen. In the 1990s, they tried to o*******w the secular Muslim government in Algeria. The Groupe Islamique Arme (GIA) is what gave birth to the modern day al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb. The Brotherhood is the force behind such movements.
On the other hand is Russia, and the "conservative revolutionary" Aleksandr Dugin. He's absolutely 100% against the Muslim Brotherhood, but more or less utilizes the same tactics. He wishes to rule Eurasia, from Vladivostok to Dublin (Lisbon?). The Russian Orthodox Church functions much the same way these "Islamic Society" mosques of the Brotherhood function, providing a religious cover for black markets - narcotics, money laundering, and human trafficking.
These are the two sides of the war that has already started. It began, perhaps, when in 2008 Dugin declared war on the United States following the Russian invasion of Georgia. I agree with you that the New Russia neo-f*****m and the even more virulent jihadist f*****m-in-vitro but not in power are the geopolitical problem that must be dealt with. However, then you go off on a false tangent of Obamaallying America with alQueda and the Muslim Brtherhood. Really, Randall, you're nothing but a nutcase with that story line and it twists your presentation of the main issue. To be blunt, you also complicate the main issue with obscure detail. I appreciate the details from a specialization viewpoint, but it handicaps plain and simple definition of the geopolitical situation. Moreover, the situation in the Middle East involves complications and contradictions that will require time and subtle moves to work through, and you imply it is a straight black and white, right and wrong, something resolvable today...that's not real. America is acting in a variety of ways, some effective and some not, but acting in our and the Free World's interest and in the interest of freedom and self-government's future. Arbitrary definitions and actions won't work. Geopolitics is a dicey matter always and it is unhelpful for us amateurs to micro-criticize these large measures, many of which are under the table and some not particularly nice.

Considering the Obama administrations implicit and explicit support in ousting Egyptian Hosni Mubarak, Libyan strongman Muammar Gaddafi (both whom were subsequently replaced by Muslim Brotherhood governments), and the administrations ongoing attempts to force Bashar Assad to cede control of Syria to al Qaeda rebels, the t***sgressions of Senator Yee highlight yet again a disturbing trend in the American government to provide aid and comfort to al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood. If Senator Yee is found guilty of his crimes, he should be charged with treason and sentenced accordingly. The weapons he was planning to sell would have been used to murder and kidnap innocent civilians, and likely have been used in the violence of human trafficking.
There is absolutely no way that Americans can look at this situation and not be outraged, even deeply alarmed. Since 9/11, the government was supposed to be separating terrorists and terrorist sympathizers from the civilized world, not using their positions of public influence and stature to prop up barbarians. Provided the evidence holds up in court, Yee should be made an example of, using all laws on the books to ensure he gets what he deserves, in a very public way.
