They are an amazing group. I always have enjoyed them, and the bagpipes. When I lived up north, hectic days at the clinic. One of my neighbors played bagpipes. She liked practicing in her backyard. It was so nice to come home, prop my feet up on my back deck and listen for a bit. She almost always played Amazing Grace. You might enjoy hearing this Brazilian boy, Jotta, sing a different version of Amazing Grace. His version contains a chorus that starts with..."my chains are gone, I've been set free, his mercy reigns..." For someone so young, such a beautiful voice. http://www.youtube.com/user/strongtower27. If for some reason, this doesn't come up properly, just Google Jotta.

Thanks for sharing the group and song info. Had a Scottish great grandpa, visited Scotland in '82, bought a Bagpipe
and was too dumb to learn to play it well. Love them, though there's a sadness to the pipes

I'm glad "Retired" put it the thread up initially this morning. I agree with you that there is a haunting sadness, but such a rich sound, so I have not the will to resist.

I start every morning by breathing on a mirror. If the mirror fogs, I know it will be a great day.

On the day the mirror doesn't fog, I will go back to bed.

Thanks for sharing a nostalgic look back!! Of course, I get the distinct impression that a certain song is going to be playing in my head all day!! I'm normally up before or by that time of the morning myself. This morning, I slept in. Too much fresh air yesterday, I guess.

A little Operatic for my taste, this is more my style (my taste is younger than myself, obviously...)

Oooh, Myy Goshhhh! That was so beautiful wasn't it? Had me with goose-pimples up and down my arms and legs through the whole thing. Thank you so much for that~(think I answered this post on the wrong comment. Sorry)

There is a song just a beautiful that I heard back in Jr-high school at a talent contest. "Angel of the Morning". The student who sang it, playing her guitar, was as well so awesome I've never forgotten it. She took 1st place.
