Why is Congress discussing a band aide solution to the Florida shooting?

We know these facts:

-Children are getting guns and shooting fellow classmates, faculty and staff.

-These children were emotionally unstable.

-We punish law enforcement the schools and security forces for not responding.

-we punish the gun manufacturers and gun shops and gun dealers as well as owners of guns.

None of these solutions work. Why does Congress focus on a band aide solution rather than solving the problem?

I recommend holding first off the parents of the shooter just like we hold manufacturers for the consequences of their product.

The culture must change. Parents of children under the age of 25 should be held liable for the actions of their children.

Next, if warning signs of the mental health of such students then CPS should get.involved as well as law enforcement. And parents should be held accountable for their children's actions.

This may not completely solve the problem but we need a solution.

This was one of trumps talking point before he was elected the need for a data base that picks up mental health issues when doing back ground checks #2 why did the FBI not pull him in for questioning in Sept /sounds like they let it slip through like so many OTHER issues/ Why didnt they pick up that this kid had a gun!!!!!! This isnt about Guns its about our GOVERMENT agencys doing their Damn job (nobody should be able to buy legally a gun till they are 18/20

The gun lobby has effectively blocked a computerized data base of firearms sales. As a result someone can buy an assault rifle pass the background check and if they become mentally ill after the fact there is no way for local officials to know if they have a gun.

Great idea, in North Korea families are punished for the misdeeds of their relatives, why not here.

Guns are not the problem. Guns do not think or act on their own. The problem is the breakdown of society, the cultural corruption, moral decay, failure of education, the destruction of the nuclear family. Gun control laws never have nor ever will cure this sickness.

This k**lers parents are dead, hard to prosecute them. Some one did say something, somebody else didn't get their job done!

A bail bondsman in Mississippi last year alerted the feds about an alarming online message Cruz wrote

saying he was ‘going to be a professional school shooter’.

He claims that he alerted the FBI to a comment shared by Cruz on one of his YouTube videos back in September.

He says the FBI was quick to respond to the concerning statement, arriving at his office the very next day

to find out if he knew anything about the young man.

He didn’t get a follow up from the FBI until Wednesday though, after the shooting. At a press conference Thursday morning,

an FBI officials said they followed up on the report but were unable to further identify the person who made the comment.

When drug tests are complete, prescribed psyco-tropic drugs will be found in his system, like nearly all mass k**lers.

Wow, for once I agree completely with your assessment.

And the number of appeals this slug gets should also be limited.

But if he doesn't get the death penalty, then convict him as a d******c t*******t and put him in trump's newly refurbished Guantanamo Prison
