Amen is all I will say regarding this moron. I can't stand the sight of him and won't get HBO. Now I've been informed his lair is on this channel. What a sick individual indeed. And b****sheep is obviously an admirer of anyone anti Christian. So sad .......

In addition to Old Gringo's references above, Maher, this poor excuse for a human being, disparages Christians, compares "special" children with dogs, and after 9/11 had the unmitigated gall of calling our soldiers cowards. This d********g comment was made on ABC's Politically Incorrect, while he, at the same time, PRAISED THE BARBARIANS, who k**led almost 3,000 people in New York.

“We have been the cowards, lobbying cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away. That’s cowardly! Staying in the airplane when it hits the building, say what you want about it, it’s not cowardly.”

Yes – k*****g thousands of unarmed innocents without warning…that’s the stuff of brave men! Following the subsequent severe backlash, network advertisers pulled out quickly. He would be fired a few months later. HBO hired Maher to essentially do the same show (without the pesky FCC to police content/language) two years after getting the boot from ABC. SHAME ON THEM!!!

If you harbor any sympathy for this reprobate, I urge you to watch this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xe57F77ZKIs

This video is no less worthy of Maher's being fired. The fact that he said it on cable TV is no excuse for allowing such an obnoxious, condescending, cruel, offensive, smug narcissist to spew his venom on TV.

The victims of the Boston Marathon bombings were also subject to Maher's invective:

“It was, again, a bad day. Three people died — that’s terrible. More were maimed — that’s horrible, but unfortunately that happens every day in car accidents and everything else,” Maher said. “I mean, your city was not leveled by Godzilla.”

But it is not caused by "accidents," either, Mr. Know-It-All. It was a terrorist act, and that means deliberate targeting of people, including children.

America is a country which espouses freedom of speech - but when that speech causes even more pain to people who have been injured and are suffering, or are grieving the loss of loved ones, then that perpetrator has gone beyond the bounds of civility and common decency.
In addition to Old Gringo's references above, Mahe... (show quote)

However, I get tired of people who think we should live our lives by the historic fables of pre-scientific people. Almost all peoples have creation myths and natural catastrophe myths...such as Noah and the flood.

Grown-ups recognize these stories as primitive attempts to explain the world to pre-literate people.

Bill Maher is just stretching the language to make a point. Do you really believe that Bill thinks God is a psychotic mass murderer...really??? Maybe Bill is correct and the right wing really is as stupid as he portrays them.

I may occasionally disagree with Bill, but overall I think he is brilliant...and he makes me laugh.

It must be very lonely to consider yourself the be all and end all, but atheism is his choice and he's welcome to it. But his disdain of our soldiers after 9/11/01 vs. his deference to the terrorists who "remained in the planes" or the comparison he makes regarding "special" children and dogs is NOT FUNNY!! It's cruel!!!

The only brilliance about Maher is that he chooses controversial subjects, makes provocative, mean-spirited and insulting remarks about them, and then counts the bucks which his comments trigger (yeah, like mine)!!

It doesn't take intellectual acumen to hurt people when there is no kindness or compassion in your heart.

How about challenged? Michelle is so challenged that she doesn't realize her bed-mate is a "Lindsay Graham" style Republican.

You are quite knowledgeable about Republicans aren't you? NOT

Bachmann and Graham are on opposite sides of the Party. She is conservative, he is a Rino, endeavoring to change his color from Blue to Red prior to the midterm e******ns. He is being challenged by a true Republican Conservative. We hope he is defeated by another, real, Republican.

You are missing the point Graham has long been suspected of being a closeted homosexual by members of his own party, The same is suspected of Bachmans husband. it is all rumor but amongst republicans considered to be a vicious insult.

I have never heard of either being what you posted. But then you are just rumor mongering. If one tells a lie big enough, and keeps it going, some dolts will begin to, at least partially, believe it. That is what you Progressives excel at.

It is indeed a rumor regarding both men but one not either encouraged or started by me. A couple of minutes of web search will bring it up, take time and look if you do not believe me. I was just pointing out the intent of the first poster as it escaped the person I responded to.

There was no reason to even bring it up, except to spread the rumor and denigrate those named. It had no place in the discussion. Should I spread the rumor that Obama is q***r? It has been mentioned numerous times, but not by me, until now. I only do so to make a point about rumor mongering. Do I believe it, I don't know and don't care. it has nothing to do with his total incompetence.

Sadly these "Rumors " may have some merit. Michelle and hubby had their own "gay"reparitive company that was designed to Cure homosexuality.
Many question why they claimed the successful "cure"rate and the business was shut down when it became apparent she was trying to succeed in the political arena.
Graham I'm not too familiar with.
But anyone single after 25 seems fair game on assumption that they they "must be Homosexual
I'm fairly sure that the Bachmans are hiding something that is of a sexual d*****t nature.
But it's up to v**ers to determine if it's so bad they shouldn't hold office. Unless she runs for president I'm not overly concerned that's for sure.

I did not bother to watch his apparent take on being brave and fighting the ACA
I wasn't very happy nor surprised that many don't see the old slip of the hand routine being played by him. another, real, Republican.

Old Gringo,

I wasn't referring to Lindsay Graham's politics. I guess you missed the news about what his senate seat challenger had to say about Lindsay's lifestyle. Normally, I think that people should only "out" themselves. However, when someone is a conservative gay-basher there are exceptions.

A good many legends have a solid factual basis. For instance, there was most definitely a flood, although it happened several thousand years before the supposed Creation, and was the result of tectonic activity rather than forty days and nights of rain. Oral traditions become written traditions. There was a fairly well established Neolithic civilization in the Eastern Mediterranean about the time a flood did occur. Oral traditions become exaggerated over the years. Bear in mind that oral histories, or "campfire stories" are often embellished to make them more entertaining, and memorable. The Babylonians have a flood story which is considerably older than the one in the Bible.
In the 1840s, there actually was a man who was swallowed by a whale and lived to tell about it. It wasn't three days, but it was well past the time he should have survived. Could this not have happened in ancient times, and the event become the basis for the story of Jonah? Many legends, as I said, are factual events which have been exaggerated over the years, especially in the days when oral traditions were so much more important than today.

It depends on whether the weak and vulnerable meet his political beliefs, live a geographical area meeting his approval and are only minorities. No one else need seek his championing of them.
