Hitler treated the media completely opposite. He never undermined peoples faith that what they were told was the complete t***h. In fact he bolstered that belief. This way when he took control of the media people would not question what they heard on the news. Trump is causing people to question what they are told. Many on the right who previously accepted anything they heard on Fox as iron clad fact, are now becoming more skeptical. This is a good thing. Anytime you believe unquestioningly; you can be led like a lamb to the slaughter. This goes for both right and left. Once people get into the habit of questioning what they are told, they will NOT blindly follow any leader. So if Trump's goal were to get America to blindly accept and obey any proclamation he might give; he is going about it in a strange way.

Instead of believing any media outlet; why not check the facts for yourself. If it is a story on what someone said in a speech or while giving testimony, look up the transcripts. If it is a piece of legislation, don't accept any media outlets interpretation of it, go to the relevant government site and look it up.

When you make statements as if they are facts, then yes it is your responsibility to provide citations. It is only those who are afraid that minorities's lives will improve with a stronger economy and that they might no longer be victims but equally participating citizens in a strong free country. who d**g out the story that Trump wants w****s to rule over minorities. Just like Obama, it is d******e, not inclusive. Unless you believe America equates with w****s; Make America Great Again means all Americans.

So if you think him saying, ""You look at what they're sending us, they're not sending good people...they are sending us rapists and drug dealers.....""; then you must think Hispanics are all drug dealers and rapists. It is those that see trying to prevent rapes and drugs as being r****t who are the real r****ts.

When did he say Muslims are terrorists? I have been following his speeches and actions since the beginning of the primaries as soon as he became a candidate. I never heard those words or those sentiments. The travel restriction only restricts travel from a few Muslim majority countries. If he wanted a Muslim ban, why leave out the 50+ other Muslim majority countries? Why include Korea?

Just because the reporter was disabled, does not mean he was no less a reporter than those who are able bodied. Or should people NOT be treated the same if they are disabled? You think he was less of a man so needed extra protection? Trump frequently mocked reporters.

He may have colluded. No evidence but despite that he may have. You may have abused a family member. I have seen no evidence of it, but you may have. The only evidence that has come out of collusion with Russia so far has been of Clinton/Obama.
When you make statements as if they are facts, the... (show quote)

JoyV: I missed this earlier...so please allow me to respond. Trump makes statements daily that he presents as facts with NO PROOF whatsoever -are you asking him for proof and citations? [think "Obama tapped my wires" "Hillary and dems want to raise your taxes" "Susan Rice unmasked my supporters"] As far as those "who are afraid minority lives will improve" with a stronger economy: how is lowering taxes for the rich while systematically raising them for everyone else going to improve the economy? We tried "trickle down economics" under Reagan and Bush 2 - it doesn't work - corporations take that extra cash and give out stock dividends and more bonuses.....I am still waiting for my 'trickle' since Reagan. Trump proves his heart's desire when he makes misleading statements about things like the NFL athletes protests. Everyone knows that Kaepernick never once said he was protesting the actual f**g or our military. He and the others that joined him were only protesting the r****t words in the 3rd and 4th verses of the anthem. If you google the "Star Spangled Banner" (Francis Scot Key) you will clearly see what the protest was all about. I am a US Navy combat veteran who has fought and bled in 3 international conflicts. I have been spat upon, attacked and beaten, and had racial slurs hurled at me by extremists, but I have never once been attacked, beaten, or spat on by a f**g.not.once.ever. Yes, we can plan "word Twister" with what Trump said about the Mexicans being rapists, but sometimes Joy the real t***h is in what he doesn't say. I have yet to hear him even express remorse -and I would have a heart attack if the man ever truly apologized for any of his (human) mistakes. Regarding the Muslim Ban - you bring up a good point - but consider this - if he was truly trying to block the Muslim countries that support terrorists, why wasn't Saudi Arabia on his list -since that's where the 9-11 terrorists came from? He did in fact mock the disabled reporter -no spin will change that - it was on national television. Yes, collusion remains to be proven, but here's something else for you: IF Trump is in fact innocent, why has he done everything possible to stall the investigations? One would think if there was nothing to hide, he would have released his taxes and volunteer wh**ever is required if for no other reason than to shut the nay sayers up. As far as evidence, once again we see a double standard: Al Franken was accused by 5 women -with no proof....it has already been proven that the female comedian at the 2006 USO show was a setup...Franken was forced to resign. Trump has been accused by 19 women, many who claim there were witnesses present when the crimes occurred.....all we hear so far is crickets. I am still waiting for someone to show me ANY proof that Clinton/Obama colluded with Russia - that would really be a David Copperfield type event considering Putin is on record stating how much he h**es them both. Joy, I do not doubt your intelligence or your good will, but could it be even remotely possible that you backed the wrong horse?

Fourteen Defining
Characteristics Of F*****m
By Dr. Lawrence Britt
Source Free Inquiry.co
5-28-3

Dr. Lawrence Britt has examined the f*****t regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia) and several Latin American regimes. Britt found 14 defining characteristics common to each:

1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - F*****t regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. F**gs are seen everywhere, as are f**g symbols on clothing and in public displays.

<<So any patriotism should be quashed because it has been used by f*****ts? That is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.>>

2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in f*****t regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

<<And soo? When has Trump advocated ignoring human rights?>>

3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; c*******ts; socialists, terrorists, etc.

<<So you believe that if someone promises to k**l you, you should not try to protect yourself? Oh riiight. You should bribe them to delay k*****g you for a few years with $150 billion.>>

4. Supremacy of the Military - Even when there are widespread
domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

<<If the military hadn't been gutted it wouldn't take so much to keep it strong. Nor is the domestic agenda being ignored. Look at our economy. Instead of feel good patronizing promises, strengthening the economy helps most Americans. For example; we now have the lowest unemployment rate for b****s ever.>>

5. Rampant Sexism - The governments of f*****t nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under f*****t regimes, traditional g****r roles are made more rigid. Divorce, a******n and homosexuality are suppressed and the state is represented as the ultimate guardian of the family institution.

<<Reread your history. A******ns and sterilizations were MANDATED for anyone not fitting the pure ideal early on in N**i Germany. Later undesirables were simply exterminated.>>

6. Controlled Mass Media - Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

<<Yup. Like under the Obama administration. Intimidation by the use of the Espionage Act, while encouraging the populace to accept wh**ever they are told. Definitely NOT what Trump is doing. He has not used any government intimidation. He has been more accessible to the media than most presidents. And he has encouraged the populace to question the veracity of what they are told.>>

7. Obsession with National Security - Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

<<Fear mongering is what has been and is being used by the left. Even the creation of "safe spaces" is encouraging people to be afraid. Trump's message has been one of hope, p***e in accomplishment, and setting the bar high.>>

8. Religion and Government are Intertwined - Governments in f*****t nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

<<So the author has left off with the f*****t comparison? F*****t nations undermine, ban, or destroy religion. Our Constitution was written to protect religion from government interference. Trump addressed the infringement of the government on religion during his campaign. He wanted to return to the Constitutional separation of religion from government. As things stood when he was elected, government had infringed unconstitutionally on religions. >>

9. Corporate Power is Protected - The industrial and business aristocracy of a f*****t nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

<<In f*****ts nations the government takes over businesses. Those businesses who toe the line may be left alone for a while. But ultimately they are all following thew dictates of their leaders.>>

10. Labor Power is Suppressed - Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a f*****t government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.

<<While there is more than a little t***h to that, unions have been going down for decades with no help from Trump.>>

11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - F*****t nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts and letters is openly attacked.

<<And who has been censored let alone arrested? Free expression is allowed to ALL Americans, including our President.>>

12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment - Under f*****t regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in f*****t nations.

<<This author doesn't seem to understand that the rule of law PROTECTS the citizens from police usurpation of power. Trump stands for the rule of law as outlined in our constitution. Our constitution is written to protect the citizens FROM the government. Not to give power to the government over the citizens. Since civics ceased being taught in public schools, many young people are clueless of this concept.>>

13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption - F*****t regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in f*****t regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

<<And just how does cronyism apply to Trump even as much let alone more than previous presidents? As for appropiating resources and treasures, Trump has given back at least part of what Obama appropriated from western states.>>

14. F********t E******ns - Sometimes e******ns in f*****t nations are a complete sham. Other times e******ns are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control v****g numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. F*****t nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control e******ns.

<<You mean like encouraging v***r f***d by discouraging the use of v**er ID? How about that media manipulation. You can see by how much they praise him that he manipulates the media. And how bout the smear campaign of: 1) A phony dossier. 2) A foreign government posting a large amount of anti-Trump messages on social media. 3) Threatening e*****rs to change their v**es {A true f*****t tradition}.>>

1. Never said "any patriotism should be quashed" - but some forms of "patriotism" can grow into extremism -such as "America First" in everything to the point of going back on and even dissolving long standing American traditions (think immigration here) with little or no reasonable explanation.
2. Trump was an early advocate for "waterboarding" and extreme torture, he may have changed, but I'm not sure. He ignores 'human rights' when he tells his supporters to hurt or harm someone for having a different view point than his (think peaceful protesters here)
3. Freedom of Speech....allows one to SAY a lot of things....where's the motive and intent? Without those- just words being said.
4. Trump has done this with repeated visits to military facilities where he promises "great things" -but overlooks that military personnel need health care for their families and a reasonable tax structure just like everyone else. The "strength of the economy" is still riding on Obama's policies -we are currently in a 9-14 year trend of positive economy-depending on who you believe.
5. "Undesirables" were also exterminated during s***ery. I believe this point is more about "government controlling what people can and can not do with their own bodies." I personally feel that being gay, or having an a******n should be between you and your God....not me.
6. Your response here is truly funny. I'm sure you have some citations for Obama intimidating the media right? Trump comes out blatantly every day and screams "f**e news -f**e media" about nearly every outlet except Fox, Breitbart, and those who lean all the way to the right.
7. I am trying very hard after reading this one not to call you "delusional" because "fear" is exactly what Trump was spreading when he told the lies that Hillary just wants to raise your taxes, she's not healthy enough to be president, she is really a nasty woman. I would say Trump wins that category hands down.
8. You will have to help me out again on this one. I have seen no signs at all of Trump wanting to "separate church from state" as the Constitution intended. He regularly supports politicians who attempt to use their religion as 'authority' to do wh**ever because "its in the name of God." So far, I've only seen "wolves in sheep's clothing" [think Roy Moore, Orin Hatch, Romney, and that f**e preacher Trump has in charge of his "Religious Ethics Committee" -who just demanded everyone send her up to a month's salary "or there will be consequences."
9. I would say Trump's direct attempts to influence businesses fits right in line with this one. Think of those instances when he said, "NFL players should be fired, or this reporter should be fired for saying that...." -not really the job or something the president should be concerned with really.
10. I will agree with you here, except to say that I have seen nothing from Trump to help the factories and union types.
11. Nominating Betsy DeVos (a billionaire who never even visited a public school before in her life) Director of Education....that is really a slap in the face.
12. Not sure how you could even say Trump stands for the rule of law -after he shamelessly supported the Neo-N**is in Charlottesville.
13. Cronyism -see #11, then think Bannon, Jared, Ivanka, and nearly every cabinet member under Trump.....none have ever served in public office, and apparently have no clue what their job or department is for.
14. Funny that you would use V**er ID - when the states most affected by v**er suppression are those where most of the citizens cannot read or write past a 3rd grade level and therefore have no state ID.
Trump is seriously flawed on all accounts, and sadly, is most likely going to prison...unless of course he opts to move to Russia. sorry.

*The term "wiretapping" is commonly used for surveillance to those over 40.
*Hillary and especially Bernie SAID they wanted to raise taxes. And Obama did.
*And the documents and admissions proved unmasking was carried out.
*Whose taxes have been systematically raised?
*Trump's economic policy is NOT trickle down. He didn't simply give tax break to the rich. He gave tax breaks to all who pay taxes. He reduced regulations. He eliminated punitive consequences for big businesses to repatriate their money. He put in place penalties for American companies importing goods made elsewhere by non American labor. Reagan's Trickle Down had little positive effect. Bush did not use Trickle Down. He gave incentives for business to outsource. Just the opposite of Trump.
*He never said he was protesting the f**g. But t protest police brutality by protesting the f**g and anthem IS protesting the f**g and anthem. NFL players are not allowed to express public opinion for anything else. Why when they are in uniform and on duty should they get away with disrespecting the symbols of our country? He is spitting on every veteran and American citizen. The 3rd and 4th verses are not sung at the raising of our f**g. Nor did Kaepernick state that reason when asked what he was protesting on multiple occasions.
*Did you ever hear the phrase, "actions speak louder than words"? Look at his previous actions. His hiring and pay practices. Everyone treated equal. More minorities and women that most other businesses. Fighting the local government in palm Beach to open the doors of clubs to minorities. Compare and contrast with Hillary.
*The travel restrictions specify restrictions from areas where there is not only a high degree of terrorist recruitment, but even more importantly where there is inadequate identification processes. The point being unless we can know who someone is, how can we know who or what they are not?
*I never said he didn't mock a disabled reporter. I just think that the key word is reporter, not disabled. He mocked a reporter who was disabled. He has mocked other reporters who were not disabled. Should he treat this reporter as being less of a reporter because he is disabled than he treats other reporters?
*What has he done to stall the investigations? He has not fired nor even hampered Mueller. Nor has he refused or delayed turning over any requested evidence. But this last is N/A since there has been no evidence to request or subpoena.
*Since his business records are public, and reveal far more than any tax returns; whats the beef? Its not like most people would even look at them. If that were the case why did the joint 2014 tax return of the clintons not raise eyebrows when they claimed to have an income for the year of $98.00. That's for the entire year!!!
*Many of Trump's accusers have been proven wrong or at least unlikely. One claimed it happened at an event which had been cancelled. One on a plane where she had to run down the aisle to get away from him, yet no one saw her run nor did any of the flight attendants ask if something was wrong. One said it happened at a party when she was underaged, and she then attended three more parties at the same place when he was present and he molested her each time. In the first place, Trump wasn't at more than one of the parties. In the second if you were assaulted once why return again and again? Another was a journalist who supposedly sometime shortly after the alleged horrific incident which allegedly happened at his home while his wife was briefly out of the room, wrote a glowing article on Trump. Not a single accusation has been corroborated or even found credible. Can we say the same for Clinton?
*You provide not a scrap of evidence yet in return demand proof, not evidence. There are pages of evidence n Uranium One. As far as Putin goes; the theory is that he secretly wanted Trump as President so he could manipulate him or worse. So wouldn't he them publicly condemn him and openly embrace Hillary? But instead he publicly condemns Hillary while splashing anonymous anti-Trump rhetoric on social media.

Yes it is remotely possible. The Trump I watched in the 70s and since could be just a very long term put up to gull me into v****g for him 40+ years later. I guess that must be the t***h.

Trump is seriously flawed on all accounts, and sadly, is most likely going to prison...unless of course he opts to move to Russia. sorry.[/quote]

"He ignores 'human rights' when he tells his supporters to hurt or harm someone for having a different view point than his (think peaceful protesters here)" I guess that's why his supporters have smashed, burned, pulled people down and beaten them, made videos of a victim being tortured and head dunked into a toilet, blocked traffic... Uh oh. Got the wrong supporters.

WHAT states have most of the citizens not being able to read passed (not past) a 3rd grade level? How bigoted!

I've wasted enough time. Turn off the TV. Read our constitution. Read legislation and bills on the congressional pages. Read historical documents and writings of our founders.

I live in Southern New Mexico in a small town. Our downtown is two blocks long. Every third Friday we have an Art Walk in that area. Over the few years we have had this event, it has steadily evolved. For a while, it was sparsely attended and of a somewhat limited venue. It was originally designed for local artisans to show their wares. But in the past six months it has become much more. And with a far greater attendance. Yet a word here on the population.

This region is ethnically and racially diverse with a long history of cooperative community. All groups seem to openly blend and work together. Of course there are problems but the various cultures here have shown harmony over many decades. On these Friday nights, we now have cultural singers and dancers perform, letting all there participate. A fun addition is the growing participation of cosplay people, even the kids get dressed up. The customs lend this extra element of festiveness. Watching the carefree and happy mingling of parents and children of these various backgrounds and traditions is extremely heartwarming. It is a joy to be there. Then there is the dark cloud of Trump with his r****m and xenophobia, his White separatism, steadily moving in this direction to asphyxiate the smiles and laughter and togetherness. Making rifts. Turning people against each other. Ending the joy.

I may be wrong but that is what I see and it seems very real. To be there with these people would make you just as protective and concerned. You would do anything to keep any harm from happening. And that is the bottom line on why I post as much true raw sewerage on Trump on this site. The thought of seeing even those smiles dimmed a bit or their ease stymied a moment is heart-wrenching. I see Trump as a Grinch who loves causing disruption and trouble just because he can. His mindless crusade to make America splinter into warring factions for the sake of some Nationalistic nightmare to end cultural diversity for a dream of dystopian America First White hegemony is h**eful.

Rum: your post is amazing, and so very well written! You have written down many of my grave concerns with how Trump is affecting America. The way you describe your town reminds me of the fictional town of "Grady" in the Michael J. Foxx movie - "Doc Hollywood" - a near perfect place to be, to live, and to raise a family. Trump has deliberately stoked the fire of r****m and division with his h**e rhetoric. It has taken us many, many years to attempt to wipe out r****m and ine******y in the country, now, Trump has nearly destroyed all of that effort in a few short months. However, I am confident that God is still in control, and this (Trumpism) is a wake-up call to each of us to remember that God loves each of us equally and that we are to strive to be more like Him (Jesus) each day. I want to encourage you to keep resisting, keep fighting for the good things in life, and keep putting the word out. May God bless and keep you and your family, and have a safe, prosperous, and Happy New Year!
