Verse of the Day for Thursday, October 19, 2017:

Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned. — Psalm 34:21

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

God has promised a closing time, a reckoning where human power and influence cannot buy out the t***h and where each person will have to face up to what he or she has done. Evil will overtake those who have been partners with evil. Those that h**e good people, righteous people, will be condemned in their own h**e. God's righteousness, t***h, and justice will not be short-circuited!

My Prayer...

Father, thank you for making clean and whole by the purifying work of your Holy Spirit. Teach me to be righteous. Help me develop a revulsion for what is sinful and evil. Use me to help someone caught in the evil one's work to find deliverance. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Oh that we could find a lost soul and save them, what a wonderful reward that would be!

Forgive me, Dear Lord, for as I get older, I find I am more impatient with others.
Help me, Lord, to temper that impatience and think of, and be so thankful for Your patience with me.
Amen

This is the Prayer for 4/22/16

Very early this morning there was a flash of light, then a lull, and finally a faint boom. The Lord was ushering in the rain for an earth that was beginning to look a bit dry. On some mid-summer night have you ever stood at the window and watched the magnificent lightning show the Lord puts on? The power and beauty of His displays are breath taking. When my mother was little, she thought she would be able to see angels. Did you have some such fantasies?

He did usher in a gentle rain, just enough to wash the earth and make all the shades of green so vibrant and alive. That's how we are when He fills our heart. He fills our soul with a joy that seems to put an extra bounce to our step. He showers us with His love and care, in return He asks that we demonstrate Christian love and forgiveness towards others. Let us go forth today and follow His lead. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Verse of the Day for Wednesday, October 18, 2017:

A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken. — Psalm 34:19-20

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

We know that the righteous can have troubles, but how do we understand that God delivers us from them all? How do we understand that he protects all our bones, especially in light of recent tragedies and the persecution of believers in many places in the world? Paul demonstrates the answer: wh**ever happens to him will turn out for his deliverance — whether it is through his death to be with God or whether it is through his release from prison to continue ministry (Phil. 1:19-23). Our deliverance is secure. We are conquerors in Christ. Nothing Satan can do to us can steal us away from God's love, not even death (Romans 8:32-39).

My Prayer...

Father, please give me the faith I need to believe that wh**ever happens in my life will not steal me away from your love and deliverance for me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

This is the Prayer for 4/23/16

Bear woke me up earlier than usual, so I got up and went out on the deck - WOW! It was a wonderful moment to have been awakened to, a moment to be appreciated. An almost full moon bathed the countryside with its enchanting silvery light. Everything stood so still, not even a hint of a breeze stirred. The world around us was mesmerized by the beauty. The Lord presents these moments to us all through the day, a sharp eye, a mind attuned to nature, picks them up, and utters words of gratitude to our heavenly Father.

As you sit there your mind visualizes an enjoyable performance of the sugar plum fairies waltzing over the dew covered grass. The Lord has not only blessed us with the beauty at hand, but also with an exceptional mind that can take us to worlds unknown, scenes of great splendor, and all this as we bask in the serenity of His presence. Grasp every opportunity He affords you to join Him in scenes of His world, His world that He is coming soon to reclaim.

Yes, the day is approaching when He will return in triumphant pomp and circumstance. The world will stand still, awed by His glory and magnificence as He rides in, this time upon an amazing stead, not a lowly donkey. Even the lilies of the field will bow their heads in reverence. It will be a moment when the whole world stops to take note of the occasion. Thank You, Lord, that You bless us with such thoughts of Your regal presence. Thank You, for blessing us with the knowledge of You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Seems to me, the Lord touched me on this prayer and made it a short one that we should think about everyday if we want to keep a Republic.

This is the Prayer from 4/24/16

Today is a day to be in communion with other believers, a day to jointly lift our heart and soul to the Lord. May He forgive us our sins, and the sins of our leaders. May He hear our prayers. May He continue to bless America and keep us safe.

We ask that You wake up our nation, have parents become more active in teaching their children about the way of life they see slipping away. Have Christians be more active in living the way of Your Word and less active in the ways of the world.

Help us, Lord, to use our time in gratitude for Your blessing of this new day. Have us be aware that You are there, You are aware of our actions and our words. This we ask in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen

This is the Prayer from 4/26/16

The moon was still out bright, casting its ethereal shadows across the landscape. The serenity of the early morning hours inspires an easy conversation time with the Lord. Everything is so still, as if in reverence to His presence. It is the time of day to take advantage of the calm that envelops the tiny sphere of the world around you. A calm that soon turns into a busy time of running, but what do you accomplish - it leaves you wondering.

We have the exceptional opportunity of sitting in peace, communing with our maker, all the while knowing there are places in the world where His presence is sorely needed, places where He alone must hide His child from the view of violent perpetrators. Yet, He is with us, giving us His full attention. Thank You, Lord, for Your time and Your love. We sincerely appreciate this time, and we bend our head in sorrow for those who must fear for their lives just by mentioning Your name.

Bless us with a deep appreciate for these moments, may they last forever, may our nation always fly the banner of "IN GOD WE TRUST." Bless us with the strength exhibited by our foreign brothers who die for Your name and Your cause. Bless us with a fervent dedication to have America remain a Christian nation. By Your grace and mercy, we ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen

Verse of the Day for Sunday, October 22, 2017:

May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. — 1 Thessalonians 3:12

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

"I'm not sure I can love them any more! My supply of love is gone, my capacity to love is exhausted." Yes, there are times when it seems others will exhaust our ability to love, either because of their need being so great or because of their unwillingness to love in return. How do we go on? We need a community of love; other believers who will support and love us. We need brothers and sisters in Christ who will pray for God to increase our capacity to love. We need to trust that in response to all of our prayers, God will pour more love into our hearts through his everflowing stream of grace, the Holy Spirit (cf. Rom. 5:5). When love is low, don't withdraw or give up. Draw near to God and draw near to his people asking for his grace to help in your time of need (Heb. 4:16).

My Prayer...

Dear Father, graciously pour your love into my heart and pour your love into the hearts of those in my family and church family. We need your help to love those around us more. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
