This is the Prayer from 4/11/16

We are like the wind. You and I are unique, led by the spirit within. We take pleasure watching our children run and play, full of spirit. The Lord looks down and smiles that our free spirit moves us like the wind. John 3:8 tells us "The wind blows where it wants to. You hear its sound, but you don't know where it comes from or where it is going. That's the way it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit." We are like the wind.

We are like the wind, we can be soft and gentle, or be like a roaring storm. Psalm 135:7 "He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who makes lightnings for the rain, Who brings forth the wind from His treasuries." He treasures us, He has crowned us with glory and honor. Remember that you are His child, go forth to bring Him honor. Always return from whence you came, be like the wind.

We are like the wind. As He appeared to the disciples, in Acts 2:2 "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting." Like a mighty rushing wind, we feel His stirring in our hearts. We feel the need to praise Him, worship and adore Him. May we feel that wind daily. Bless us with Your presence this day, Lord, in Jesus name we pray. Amen

Verse of the Day for Tuesday, October 10, 2017:

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. — Psalm 34:10

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

While even the most fierce h****rs cannot ensure their security and nourishment, those whose hunger is for God will find themselves nourished, blessed, and sustained.

My Prayer...

Thank you, Father, for the promise that you will never leave me or forsake me even though friends and partners may betray and forsake me. I confess that it is sometimes hard to fully comprehend, much less believe, that you are always faithful. Confusing and hurtful times come and I waver in my confidence in your grace. Please forgive me and renew my hope. I do believe, dear Father, that you love me like no one else can. I do believe, Almighty God, that you care about my wounds and worries. I recommit my heart this day to trust in your daily care, provision, and grace for me. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Since I've been gone, I've missed several - but I picked this one bbecause He has shown me His love, His care, His presence in my life in so many ways. To Him I offer all prise, honor, and glory. Amen

This is the Prayer from 4/12/16

The day has started out grey, it looks like rain upon the horizon. Have you ever had that feeling of nostalgia as you got ready to leave on a trip? Do you have a sense of wistful yearning, but lost as to what that yearning is for? Are you going back to memories of long ago, or of the recent past, or new ones? Put aside your fear, do not doubt, for the Lord your God is always with you, to love you and sustain you.

What comfort and joy we feel when we are wrapped in the envelope of family. We are busy making memories of these moments together, sharing stories, love, and always - good food. The excitement and pleasure of watching the new babies, their giggle, their tentative steps, holding their arms out to be lifted up. Always, we can turn to the Lord with uplifted arms, knowing He will lift us up, He loves us so very much.

Let not a grey day color your attitude, rather look at the light that does shine. Before long, you will see a break in the clouds, and the rays from heaven will come gleaming through. His radiant glory beams down upon the land, upon the children He so adores. Know the Lord, give Him your heart and trust. It will be well with your soul. We pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen.

Verse of the Day for Monday, October 16, 2017:

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. — Psalm 34:17

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

Deliverance! A great theme of the Bible is that God is a God of deliverance who keeps his promises and faithfully shares his grace, mercy, and justice. Let this promise stir you to righteous living and then to cry out to God in all your troubles. One way to do this is to read through the Psalms regularly, letting these inspired words from so long ago offer a rich topography of prayer from which you can call to God. Whether you use the Psalms or not, however, cry out to God with the praises, questions, and wounds that life brings. Let his presence be real to you and your heart open to him.

My Prayer...

Father, our world needs your deliverance. In your majesty and power, please destroy the plans of the wicked. In your mercy and grace, please raise up your people who find themselves facing hardship and trouble. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Only with You, Lord, will we be free to find peace, not only where we live, but more importantly within our soul. Lead us Lord so that we may lead a life pleasing to You, but first - forgive us our sins so that we may lift our eyes, hands, and hearts to You. Amen

This is the Prayer from 4/18/16

Day or night, the city is always a busy, buzzing hub. In the early morning hours, you hear a freight train rumbling in towards the city. With continuous welded rail, the old clickedy-clack is gone, just a heavy lumbering sound as it approaches. The darkness seems to lay like dead weight, everything melts one into the other. You sit there waiting for some light to break in the sky. Not to worry, the Lord is near. You can pray, He will hear you. You need Him, the city is a place where you feel alone.

The small town, what differences exist there? People want to proclaim it's a better life, more laid back, not the crush and rush of the big city. Yes, there's some t***h to that, but they are still people, only in a different setting. Gossip is more prevalent, much harder to hide a private life. Their little Payton Place becomes more widely known than they may suspect. If an outsider lifts an eyebrow, and wonders about their professed faith, what does the Lord think? He doesn't heed gossip, He deals in facts.

Then there is the country, He surrounds you with the country. The open fields offer their sense of freedom. His brilliant sun shining down to warm the earth, and the rain that comes to feed it. All around you nature speaks to His glory. The old gnarled oak trees that lift their gangling limbs to the heavens. The Lord generously feeds the birds with His earth. He also feeds our soul with this exquisite beauty and bountiful space. Thank You, Lord, thank You for giving us an understanding and appreciation of Your world. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Verse of the Day for Tuesday, October 17, 2017:

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. — Psalm 34:18

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

The LORD is... ...near! ...present! ...close! How do I know? He came close in the manger. He walked among us in ministry. He suffered with us and for us at Calvary. We know that in tragedy, trial, heartbreak, and brokenness he is near to us to save us. So, will our hearts be open to him and will we be seeking him to come near? Don't let troubles or heartache lead you to pull away from God or doubt his nearness. Let him draw close to you.

My Prayer...

O LORD, please be near me today. Make your presence known in my life. Father, I also ask that you bless those I know who are struggling with their faith, and with broken and disappointed hearts. Please be active in their lives and make your presence known in their lives. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Your quiet beauty in the early morning, before the break of dawn; Your soft voice to direct me; the sense of comfort I feel when You are near; and so many other ways that You show Your presence and protection in my life. For everything You have done and continue to do for me - I am grateful, I thank You, and above all I offer You all my praise. Amen
