2Wheeljunkie: When I Was Living In South Central Fla., some time ago, I had a Rhodesian Ridgeback/German Shepherd Mix, I was usually
at work, even working 18 hr.'s a day, six day's
a week, & had to leave her, double collared to a
TRACTOR CHAIN, wrapped around a Big Tree, With her Bucket of Water, where she couldn't turn it over. Anyway, within a one year period, she had severely bitten, a friend of mine, whom was drunk, & trying to mow his yard, but he slipped over onto my property by mistake. I yelled a warning, but it was too late, She Schredded his left arm, by "springing" upon him
like a Cat with 45lb.'s of Chain, on it's back.
I treated the wound, Gave him some codeine,
ampicillin, & a percodan 5mg. tab., & that was the way it ended. However, on at least three occassion's, I'd come home from work, late at
Night & would find, "apparent, "would-be" Burglar's" bloody underwear, bloody shirt sleeve, & the last one, a bloody, NIKI RUNNING
SHOE, & part of a bloody shirt, still in my DOG'S
Mouth, & her "Two Steel Collar's", broken off, the
heavy duty tractor chain. Folk's, I & my dog, "FLED THE SCENE", the next day, before the Trespasser/Burglar's "BODY", was "DISCOVERED"!!! My dog was unharmed, so I
believe, SHE launched a "BLITZ ATTACK" upon
The misguided, unlucky, "TAR BABY"!!!! SO SORRY!!!

I carry a Mastiff, because when you gotta dispose of a body there's no quicker way than to feed it to him.

Was given a dog once by a friend because he kept tearing up the clothes on the clothes line. Turns out Tarzan was a one man dog... would eat up any one who came close. We pushed his food and water to him with a long stick for about a month. Finally, he adopted us and was okay. We had a country store with gas pumps and we lived above it. One night some high school or college kids decide to park near the pumps and broke out a case of beer after the store was closed and we were in bed. They get loud and talking ugly. My dad opened the window and asked the to hold it down and stop the four letter words. They cussed dad out for a bout five seconds. Dad whistled for Tarzan, who was no longer chained, he sailed over the fence and started chewing arms and legs until they got their cars going and arms and legs back in the windows.
Dad and I had a really good laugh together. It was priceless.

I prefer the dog threads to anything else here anymore. Is that just me?

I once had a Jack Russell who was given to me by a friend because he was an escape artist, and kept going to jail from jumping in the cab of the dog catchers truck. I couldn't keep him in here either but he loved swimming in the stock tank. I came home one day, and he wasn't around, and never came home. He was a mess!

He must be a toe biter. He seems to small to be an ankle biter. Very cute but around this house he might be stepped on accidentally. We have never had to look that close to the ground to see any of our dogs. They have always been in the 60# to 90# size. Either a Australian Shepard or German Shepard mix.

Animals are good for the soul. We have 3 canines, and 1 equine who identifies as a canine, and a goldfish named Norbert.

No, they never did that we knew of. Had lots of dogs of different breeds, a hyper Jack Russel who a co-worker gave me, who when I got home with him and put him in the back yard, he promptly climbed the chain link fence and k**led my cat lady neighbor's cats, she only had about 20. A border collie pup who chewed up everything, flower pots, plants, the wooden handles on my tools, newspapers, you name it he chewed it, even large rocks. Several German Shepherds with and w/o papers, and several Heinz 57 strays, a Yorkie and Chihuahuas. Every dog has a personality and a story. Will share some more stories on another day. I have a few more good ones.

I should write a book of my life... but nobody would believe it. All that stuff couldn't happen in one life time... but it has... and I'm "only" 63, ha. Like, my cousin was 5 and I was 4 and he and I had just finished watching the Lone Ranger and he persuaded me to put a can on my head and he was going to shoot it off.... with Papa's shotgun. The gun was so heavy that when he raised it up to shoot, he raised it too high and thankfully missed. Scared our parents so bad we didn't even get spanked. City kids and kids today just don't know what they have missed and are missing. I wouldn't trade my life for anyone else's. I've been richly blessed... but never with too much money but always enough...:)

And Norbert rules the roost except when AuntiE kicks him out of the swimming pool for taking his camera where it doesn't belong.
