He had quite the expression of murder as he looked me in the eye.

Of course since then I have had more fortunate adventures with the little darlings. I was investigating a lightning strike on a house that dug a shallow trench 20 long and blew a terminal off of the house. As I stood next to the house I looked down to find my legs covered in yellow jackets. Fortunately they could not sting through my heavy work pants. Discretion being the better part of valor, I fled the scene and was not stung.

Then there was the rope bridge when I was young. My 3 brothers and I discovered an old rope bridge across a creek. It was in bad shape and I being the brave and stupid one crossed it first. The boards were rotted so I stayed on the sides of the rope as I gingerly crossed. I never realized how my fear of falling from the bridge saved me from something else. Three quarters across the bridge a plank was missing and especially there I walked like a fly on nitro glycerin. As I reached the far side I heard blood curdling screams. Looking back I saw my brothers in shorts standing at the missing plank covered in yellow jackets. Just past the missing plank and underneath was a nest. I had passed over the nest unharmed while they having seen me not collapse the bridge thought it would be amusing to rock the bridge as they crossed. They were piled up against each other trying to turn around. That visual really was hysterical because it wasn't me. Of course later we being vengeful little boys destroyed the nest.
