Well, you should take that smidgen of p***e and warm flustration and cuddle up on those cold Montana nights. Brrr, I grew up in up state ny where a 10 below day was ok for a flannel shirt if the wind was down and the sun out for awhile, At night we rolled boiling quart water bottles on the sheets and had a piss pot so as to not have to use the outhouse. But 30 below on the plains, brrr. It's 50* here today and I'm still in shorts and flip-flops, trying not to let summer slip away.

You're initial introduction was fantastic. Where are you now? Haven't heard form you. Mike

I feel there is an America we never hear about. A quiet day-to-day goodness. No h**e or statements to be made. Just wake up early for work, feed the kids and make them feel safe, do your job. No fuss or drama. Simple love and duty. I see that here. People who only know to be decent and caring, not opinionated. The supposed "big picture" is confusing, even threatening to them. It slowly alienates by doubt at the basics of family life. Should I h**e the L**T community? If I don't, am I being remiss? If an L**T was down the road from me, I would bake a cake in welcome and keep an eye on them for their safety: they are part of our neighborhood.

Montana is about people and family. A somewhat extreme environment keeps our priorities in order. Community is precious. We are all neighbors. We need that to survive and prosper. The normal divide is for the East and West Coast against the Mid-West and South. People here are not a philosophical debate. Show yourself to be productive and caring and you are in. Embraced.

Good points Mamma. Nice thoughts;
But you do defend against wolves.
You know your geography; "...The normal divide is for the East and West Coast against the Mid-West and South...."
Some are also defending against "wolves" on both coasts.

That is really very clever. Gonna steal it. And he is!

Actually, I stole/paraphrased it from Roger Miller's 1964 hit record, 'Dang Me.'

Goggle it and listen, if you wish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pg9YGmmPX6w

That lyrical line is towards the end.

Wonderful post, and a perfect example of my comments on another thread about the calming effect of your words.

I'd like some of that pie, please.
