I think that is how my daughter works it as well.

This prayer is from 10/5/15

Today I felt the need to write a prayer, a prayer to praise our Lord for the beauty He places before us every day. We go through stages in our life missing much of that beauty because we are too busy, too preoccupied with getting an education, or training, to be able to make a living, for raising a family, or just for existing. At times the events of the day may lift us up, or turn us off, depending on how they impact that day's efforts. We have a tendency to turn off the urge to look for the hidden beauty, in order to turn our attention to our perceived needs of the day. Our experiences can dull our sense or make them more acute to the world around us.

This morning I woke up at 1:28 AM, something made me get up and go the kitchen for a drink of water. When I looked out the window, it was as though someone had a spotlight shining on my white bench. I had to step outside to see what, or who it was creating this light. It was God! He had me get up to appreciate the brightness of the waning half moon, and brilliant stars that were out at that time of the morning. The moon had moved on, stars were still out, but it was dark when I finally got up to get ready for the day. Had He not aroused me, I would have missed the beauty of that early morning moment. What a shame to miss those rare moments.

Later, I had to drive to town. When I pulled out on the highway, off to the east, I noticed three rows of fluffy clouds, one above the other. That made me think of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. The bottoms of the clouds were highlighted with a rosy glow from the rising sun. The haze, that comes with fall, hung in the valleys. It would disappear when you approached it, like a mysterious visitor beckoning you on to search for it. Little things, that He provides, to make our day, and our surroundings delightfully enchanting, but we have to be attuned to His nature to see it and appreciate it. May each of us, have a amazingly blessed day. Thank You, Lord. We pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

My computer was out for the entire week-end. My left leg is causing me pain if I sit too long, therefore I am starting fresh today, and will not go back to catch up.

This is the prayer from 10/9/15

What beauty the Lord places before our eyes, if we only take the time to observe it. Early this morning, long before the sun began to break over the horizon, I went out on the deck to have my morning coffee. There in the eastern sky hung the waning moon with the morning star so brilliantly following it. A hazy, thin cloud encircled the moon, touching on the edge of the star. The dark night sky accentuated the bright lights of the moon and star. Most of the other stars were concealed by lazy clouds drifting overhead. One of His breath-taking moments to observe.

As I noticed the clouds all turning a soft rosy color, greeting His new day, I again went back out on the deck. This time, the moon and morning star had risen much higher in the sky, but still very obvious. They were now set off by the glowing clouds, blooming with color, from the sun that soon would break through. As the sun rises into the sky warming the day, billowy white cumulus clouds begin to form. The day wears on and these puffy, cotton-like clouds develop a dark grey base that makes for a sharp contrast to the pale blue sky, rain is coming to water His earth.

The rain came, and the earth smells fresh and clean. He has given us another day. A day to put forth His Word by our actions and deeds. A day that has a invigorating breeze that makes you want to draw the air deep into your lungs. A day to observe the quiet beauty He places before our eyes. A day to freely go about our necessary activities, to greet our neighbors, and smile at strangers. Another glorious day to offer Him prayer and praise. May each of us, have a amazingly blessed day. Thank You, Lord. We pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

Sorry I haven't made comments or been on the different sites -my computer was out over the week-end and now my back is out. It becomes quite painful to just sit here and read, and make comments. I'm going to therapy and the chiropractor. Between the two - I pray SOON my back will be back in shape. I have not abandoned you my faithful friends, I just need some time to heal.

This is the prayer from 11/13/15

The early morning breezes sway through the treetops telling them secrets that they have seen. We hear their whispered voices, but cannot discern what they are saying. They speak to us though, but in a different language, sometimes soft, sometimes sharp, but always bringing us some message. The wind is a magical thing, it can blow from any direction, but usually continues in a westerly flow. How uplifting to walk in an open field and have the wind blow through your hair. I believe that it is the Lord's gentle touch, letting you know He is near.

As the day grows into afternoon, the wind picks up strength, sending the cotton ball clouds scudding across the sky. It blows the dry leaves over the grass like a group of children playing tag. Here and there still lie a colorful leaf that appears left out of the play. The murmur of the wind reverberates through the bare branches as it speeds across the sky, carrying its tune, how far we never know. The crispness, in the air, makes us zip up our jackets. Fall is here, we hope an Indian Summer day will follow. In due time, the Lord will let us know.

Fall is a bright colorful time, the color of the remaining leaves that flutter on the trees, fanciful yellow mums, contrast with the serious red poinsettias, with their dark green leaves. We look around and also see the dry and dying plants that have been taken away by the wind, and morning frosts. There is a warmth in the air with an edge of chill - what a contrast. Life and death in the same picture. For us, there is always life as long as we have Jesus in our hearts. This we pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

This is the prayer from 11/20/15

This is more like a journey into the past than a prayer. I visit this site where I first started my prayers, and it's like going back to an old school building. The halls echo your hollow footsteps. You open a door and see the empty desks sitting there. You recall many friends gathering around, we laughed, made jokes, went through tests - we did this together, now I sit here alone.

Is that rain upon the window pane, or are those tears for those who have passed away, or moved on to other things? A melancholy sense descends upon me. A melancholy sense of times past, not the right now time, but the what was. We felt young and playful, full of exuberance. The days drifted by into weeks, and now it's approaching two years. How time flies, how fast it changes.

Time to leave this room of memories and go back down the hall. The rows of lockers stand empty, an open door here and there. They now lay bare, maybe a pencil stub or piece of paper left, and empty memories. Are they empty memories, or are they the little light that brings a smile to your face. Yes, I prefer the smile. I walk with those happy memories and the idea of hope for America.

Walking out the door I entered so often, makes me feel like I'm abandoning an old friend. I turn to look the building over, it still looks pretty good, except for a couple of broken windows, the weeds are growing up around it, and ivy is beginning to eat into the tuck pointing around the bricks. I pray the Lord holds it together yet, that the exceptionalism of its past will once again rise like a Phoenix from the ashes. Keep our country a Christian Nation, O Lord, I pray. Amen

This prayer is from for 11/24/15

How Great Thou Art, words to a much loved hymn, words we should utter each morning as we awaken, in a land where we have peace. Most of us have a place to sleep, enough to eat, and a winter coat or two. Do we start our day thanking the Lord for these gifts? All that we have, He has so generously supplied, it is His. Do we care for it, like the two good servants, in the Bible story from Matthew 25:14-30? His daily blessings are more than we even imagine. Praise the Lord, from whom all blessings flow.

Yes, Lord, each morning You Raise Me Up. You have blessed me with more than I can begin to enumerate, more than I need, how do I thank You, how do I show my gratitude? There is nothing You need that I can supply, so what can I give to You? Humbly, I bring You my heart, my soul, my words of praise and blessings. I invite You to join me as I drink my coffee, to be with me as I gaze up at Your remarkable heaven. All that You provide for me, the beauty of nature that surrounds me, Your generous love and care.

Each day, I awake to Your Amazing Grace. Do I share that grace, and the story of Your love and sacrifice for me? How best can I do that, how do I give back to You? I have only my words of praise for You, for all Your blessings. It seems like I am walking in a world I no longer recognize, a world where some want to exclude You. Bless me with the strength to always stand tall for You and for Your Word, Lord. Walk with each of us this day, I pray in the name of Jesus, giving You all honor, glory, and praise. Amen

URGENT prayer request!!!

A long time friend of our family, Patty Broderick, is in her mid 80's and fell backwards today when leaving a restaurant with her visiting family members.
She is a sister in Christ and has bleeding in her brain.
In ICU right now and so far they cannot stop the bleeding.

Prayers in this moment of uncertainty is vital to her situation.

She is now in the hands of our Father above and only He will do His will....whether it is to bring her home, or grant her more time in this life.

Please pray for comfort in this trying situation....not only for Patty, but for the many family members who are now at her side.

Thank you all for considering this request.

Brian
