One small thing that could go along way to limiting access by one side of the equation is to insist that all contracts must have 3 bids. This doesn't help when you are talking specific company expansion's with unique or specialized sk**ls but it does for a fast majority of the things the fed gov contracts out for. Any exceptions must be authorized by let's say 2 different agencies like the CBO and a congressional committee for investment in US prosperity and economic future.

This is free market not cronyism corruption. The deck can still be stacked I have done it myself many times in the past but it would help

Great article!! This paragraph says it all:

"Government should not be concerned with the ine******y of income, which isn’t in its purview, but with the ine******y of access, which is. It’s not the job of government to even out how much money everyone makes, but it is its job to ensure that everyone has equal access to government."

The problem politicians have is that they aren't in politics to perform a service. Most of them are in it for what THEY can get from it. POWER and MONEY are the desired prizes.

Yes I agree the article hit the bullseye. Our founding fathers were right in fearing a powerful federal government. They were also right to fear we the people. They didn't do enough constitutionally to help protect us from ourselves.

Absolutely!! The one thing the Constitution did not cover: when the majority of our government becomes so insulated and vile at the same time,
when it sees it as all right to weasel around the Constitution to get what they want,
when the courts won't hear us,

when our Representatives won't hear us,

when there are true DUMMIES sitting in Congress,

when ONE political party elects someone to the Presidency who has no standing in America, no positive feelings for America, who is super-secretive, who waltzes around the Constitution as though it doesn't exist,

when non elected people can write regs that essentially are the same as law,

when a political party refuses to punish one of their own who has been impeached,

when the Senate Majority Leader effectively shuts out the opposing party,

when close to half the v**ers are totally ignorant about what they are v****g for,

when our government is bankrupting our nation, KNOWINGLY

- how can the citizens accomplish getting rid of such a government NOW rather than after all the damage is done?
