I honestly think that a lot of these people use the "language barrier" as a crutch.
The Bosnian that I mentioned in my post is a perfect example.
9 years ago, I trained this man on how to do this job. It was a brutal game of charades with his broken english, and apparent lack of understanding of how things are here. He is still at it, and I know that he knows what's going on, but he claims not to understand sometimes. I know his son, and son in law, who speak very good english, and tell me that he can too.
His English sk**ls are good enough to negotiate the purchase a brand new veehicle every two years, but not good enough to understand why the box he left at point C should have been left at point A. And why, as a contractor, he is required to correct his mistake because he doesn't understand, and can't communicate.

I was a contractor for this company for years, then lost my route. A month later, they begged me to come work for them.
I'm starting over at the bottom of the pile now, but climbing that mountain fast.
I'm one step away from being able to hold these people to the contracts that they have signed. Once there I will write them up for breaches every chance I get until their contracts are terminated, or they do their job. It's a process for me right now.
But the frustration level is high since I have a spoiled rotten terminal manager with no spine who doesn't want to do any work. E mails wear him out! So he says......sorry.....it's just work stuff that pisses me off.

I did text the "manager" earlier, and tell him that I wanted two hours of overtime added to my timecard because of dealing with the emails, and phone calls from home off the clock. He said he would give me four.

This is bulls**t. It's a personal problem, and I shouldn't be venting it here.

My apologies.

Crutch, and covert tool. But on occasion, they run into a Spanish speaking black person. Now THAT, is entertaining. Lol!

I ask because I deal with several immigrants in my work situation. I'm not being a bigot, I'm trying to communicate with these people, and make them understand what needs to be done.
I'm dealing with people from Bosnia, Pakistan, Iran, Cuba, India, and Mexico. How many damn languages should I be required to learn in my own country to get my job done without being a bigot? Honest question!

I had to download a t***slator app on my phone this morning in order to make the line haul driver from Cuba understand the simple thing that needed to be done this morning. I tried typing it out, and printing it in English because maybe my accent threw him off, but he couldn't read it. He drew me a picture, so I did the app thing out of frustration, and finally got through to him. It is aggravating, at best!

And another thing! How in the HELL does a person get a license to drive an 80,000 lb. vehicle when they can't read, and understand the road signs?
Diversity is great, and all; but how much do we accept?
I want all comers to learn the language that I speak in the country where I live....period!!
If they want to speak their native tongue with people who understand it....GREAT!!

BUT THEY SHOULD LEARN TO COMMUNICATE WITH US. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!

OK...... (sigh)......rant over.

Many of these people know some english. They choose not to use or learn our language. I am a Industrail Pipe Insulator and work with and around mexicans, alot of mexicans. Sometimes I get a friend to hang around and listen to the mexicans and believe me they know more than they say they know. My friend speaks and understands their language and they don't know he knows their language and they talk cold, cash s**t about w****s and b****s. They talk s**t about the company they work for, (the place where they live, the UNITED STATES) and a number of other things they don't like. People say you are a r****ts for not liking them or not wanting to be around them. They are a very r****ts people. I don't understand why people born and raised in AMERICA (b****s, w****s, or wh**ever race you may be) don't like and are always talking s**t about my country. They want to get here and live the good life but they are offended by everything. So they get the demos to change the very laws that this country was founded on. If you are offended by GOD and FREEDOM please leave, and that goes for everyone that does not like it here. Go live in your own country and put up with the muslims that k**l anyone that does not bow down to them, or the drug cartels that k**l your family for not running their drugs, etc. I believe the US should stop taking all these people in and take care of your own.

It's called m**************m and it is yet another way the liberals are using to divide this country. I lived in French West Africa for eight and a half years. I spoke French. Some complained about my accent but I sure didn't expect them to understand English. One of the benefits of Peace Corps service is learning a foreign language. We are the only country that requires v**ers to be able to understand English to v**e, but prints b****ts in foreign languages. It's insane.

I believe you're correct. I had a man from Monterrey tell me something very similar.

He also said that the i*****l i*******ts were basically the mongrels of Mexico. His words.

I agree with you, with our collection of different cultures, there has to be something that ties us all together, and it has to be communication, it's the only rational way for it to work, it's our common thread, as someone said, it became English by the process of the English establishing this country. It was a bad move to start this new bilingual culture, to begin with, it creates a divide and is unfair to other ethnic groups who enter, and from people I've spoken to this from the left side of the fence, it's something that bothers them too.

I get t***sferred a 3rd time to a Girl with a slight Spanish accent but (i caught it again) and I Throttled her and the XM (recorded phone call for training purposes) and let them have it like they've never heard anyone before !

It is frustrating when your confused about something in the first place and you call for technical support and you are trying to pay attention to the task at hand and trying to decipher what the person on the other end of the phone is trying to say. What usually happens with me is, I start not understanding anything, and I don't want to keep interrupting and saying I didn't understand that last part, could you please repeat that, so I just hang up and call back and hope to get someone else. Most of the time it's no better, I hear your pain!

When was the last time a fast food restaurant got your order right? I told someone once that it's not a r****t thing, but the invasion is so complete that we, in many regions and because of so many things, are beginning to feel like strangers in our own lands.
