Martinez tells a group of legislators that they are wanting to install c*******m and that is why they want to do away with guns for citizens. He talks about it being done in Cuba, Russia, Hungary and a number of other nations. He even shows pictures from "news" magazines that show what he is saying.

We need more people like Mr. Martinez but surely will never find them when so many want to be subjugated in order to get freebies from our government.

Its easy to cherry pick authoritarian countries with gun control. How about the non-authoritarian democracies with gun control?

The following countries all have dramatically lower rates of gun violence than the U.S. They all have gun control laws.

U.K.,France,Italy,Spain,Israel,Belgium,Netherlands,Sweden,Japan,Norway,Denmark,Canada, and Australia.

Japan has incredibly restrictive gun laws. It is virtually impossible for a citizen to own a gun. In 2008, there were 11 gun deaths in that nation. The U.S., that year, had 10,000. Japan is hardly c*******t. It is probably the ultimate capitalist success story.

Nice try,Brian. Of course, all your numbers tell very little other that in those nations the government can use its guns to force its citizens to do things they don't want to do. How many of your examples aren't just a tad socialist? Japan, only?

You say that like its a bad thing. Many in this country are actually supportive of the U.S. becoming more of an EU type Social Democrat society. We could do worse than being like the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands.

2012= 8,855; however, if you remove Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia and DC the United States drops to number 21 in the world for gun related deaths, per the FBI And DOJ. It should be noted the four cities listed have some of the strictest gun laws inthe country.

By the way, it was not 10,000 in 2008. Rounding up is very convenient for you and comes from sources such as The Atlantic and Huffington Post. It was 9,535, per the FBI.

Having been to Japan, I can assure you that it is a VERY different country than the USA. I'm sure Brian, if he had to live there, would complain that they are r****t and xenophobic.

Brian frequently finds all other countries more suitable then the one in which he resides. :hunf:

Devon, you are devoid of brain. Those countries are not the most successful. This country was raised with gun in the hands of citizens. They are what they are and less than the US but, you want to make us like them. You are so stupid that you can't see that. We ant broke and we don't need fixins from the likes of you. Because you are totally incompetent.

I suspect Brian fails to understand we are a Constitutional Republic as opposed to a democracy. Failure to understand the basic government premise seems to be an issue for him.

Brien! Have you forgot that we fought a revolution so we would not have to be like the UK. You are talking about some of the most liberal countries in the world who could not even talk care of themselves during World War II because they did not have the means then and still do not. If you or anyone else wants to live in that utopia world then MOVE THERE and do the rest of us a favor!

I do believe that you are asking for a miracle and Brian doesn't believe in miracles so I doubt it will happen. The other thing is that he prefers that we all change to his way of thinking and become more socialist like the UK even though the majority in America would reject that idea. I don't think the idea of six dollar a gallon for gas would really fly here. Actually before Obama took control of our country gas was at 1.85 per gallon. Do you like the direction that we are heading?

Brian once again your wrong.
Japan’s Low Murder Rate is Due to its Immigration Policies, Not its Gun Control
December 16, 2012 by Daniel Greenfield
Japan’s crime rates have always been ridiculously low, for reasons that have nothing to do with the possession of guns. The issues are cultural. And they can only be replicated in the United States by making the country more Japanese, in ways that liberals would positively h**e, rather than by banning guns.
Step 1 in the process of making America more Japanese would involve ending immigration and m**************m and there is little doubt, statistically, that this would do far more to lower our homicide rate, than banning guns.
In 1900, the United States had a lower murder rate than Japan. The United States homicide rate doubled between the 1900s and the 1920s. It declined in the wartime and post-war period when most immigrants had been successfully integrated and it spiked again during the 1960s.

Brian once again your wrong.

The murder rate in 2010/2011 in England and Wales rose to 636, an increase of 28 murders, including the 12 victims of the Cumbrian shootings. This is a rise from the 608 murders recorded in 2009/10 which was the lowest murder rate seen for 11 years. The number one weapon used was knifes and then bats.
The quarterly crime figures covering the 12 months to September 2011, however, reveal a worrying rise in robbery and some kinds of theft, including a 10% rise in robberies at knifepoint to 15,313.
