The real-life DEATH STAR: US researchers developing laser 100,000 times more powerful than all of Earth's power stations combined.

They will be able to burn the Hell out of wh**ever they touch. It will melt metal in seconds.

Can not find any kind things to say about this, Very interesting, but I feel it is being made for k*****g and domination of the world. How about the same money got spent to fix up the mess in our nation.... Certain it could be better spent...

this could help discover a way to amplify power and create a near free source of energy?
also this could help us become one step closer to attaining a self-sustaining fusion reaction.
what do you think?

I think you have a point, if it happens or not may be a political issue rather than a science issue. Or maybe I mean a military issue. It seems better ways to k**l more and faster will always have financing while other developments go begging.. But I should be more hopeful... Do you think this could move in direction to cure our energy needs? I know little about fusion reactions. A few decades ago, someone insisted they were impossible. I hope we are beyond that now...
