Two things I noticed with this

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/06/us/politics/tech-industry-flexes-muscle-in-california-race.html?nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_20140206&_r=0

First, not even the writer batted an eye at the premise of corporations electing someone to Congress. Second, an awful lot of middle eastern names backing this person.

Just shows you we can get used to ANYTHING.

"If" indeed we believe Howard Dean's comment about the Tech Community attempting to buy a seat, it doesn't bode well. Think at this point, we can see "how well", if it is true, the "buying of the Olympic games" by the Russian Mafia, is going. The Tech Community entering into politics sends shivers down my spine. Is our societal disconnect not ugly enough as it is?

Interesting - now liberals are concerned about liberals who aren't getting all the money available to Democrats - or is it the big money that's a concern - one that didn't seem to be a problem when Penny Pritzker and many other billionaires financed Obama - or even now that Soros and Alice Walton (yes that Walton from the WalMart fortune) are spending huge amounts for Hillary.

Also interesting is the big tent liberal inclusiveness bringing in "middle eastern names" as a point of concern.

One loves to see the ball bounce in all directions.

Harder to keep track of though. If there were such a thing as "Speed Chess at warp speed" this is what I think it "might" resemble.

Regardless where you are on the political spectrum two things have negatively effected our e******ns and in the end our government at all levels. Court decisions that equate money with speech and allow a corporation to be treated as a person have turned our nation into a cleptocracy, justice is a commodity available to the highest bidder with the rest of us shut out. Isnt't it funny that the crooked bankers were not prosecuted under RICO like drug kingpins? If this is done all of the ill gotten assets would be confiscated up front! Yachts, Jets, real estate, trust funds, stock accounts everything. The investment the uber wealthy made when they bought our politicians and judges has paid off handsomely while the rest of us get screwed.

JimMe-won't matter much as California will either become Mexico North or the goodies will dry up and half the population will return home to Mexico and the others will migrate to other States. Good Luck America !!!

Agreed. We need 2 more constitutional amendments. (1) limiting personhood to real live human beings. This does not include corporations. (2) Outlawing the false equivalency of free speech and money.

If one should read a little history, one would find this same pattern repeated, and the results thereof. Ancient Rome finally succumbed from it. More recently, the French Monarchy, and interestingly enough, the Americans.

The rich may control the money, but, you can't eat money. When the little people have had enough, there will be an upheaval, similar to the French revolution. Here's the thing though, the rich will flee taking ALL our wealth with them. Most of that wealth has already been deposited outside CONUS.
