You may not be aware of this,

I just want to ensure that you do, this has to do with putting folks into Hospitals "under observation."

Don't allow them to do this to you!

Our doctor warned us of this two days ago.

Here's a hint - READ WHAT YOU SIGN and QUESTION EVERYTHING. Hospitals and Drs. are in the biz to make money, that's it. Marketing aside, they do NOT give hoot about you, they only care about your ability to pay.

In some cases that may be true but not in all. My current doctor whom I have been with 1979 is an exception to that ability to pay. My payment was two Diet Cokes for office visit for my son with three shots. That was when we were first starting out and she knew things for us were very tight. So here we are 35 years later and she still does this with young couples on tight budgets.

So the Doctors without boarders are in in it solely for the money?

All generalisms are false (including this one)

Last time I looked a "generalism" was a statement, not a question. But, that aside, isn't your statement a "generalism" and subject to the same rules?

My response was to the statement in question, not the question. And yes, as I stated "including this one". Please engage brain before keyboard.

Well, I wasn't going to bring this up but, seeing you are SO intelligent you might want to know the definition of generalism. It's the study of many different subjects, rather than one. The word you wanted was generality if you wanted the singular form. You might want to check the clutch on your keyboard, it's slipping.

Actually, it isn't a word. It was simply adding "ism" to the word, which is described as:
an oppressive and especially discriminatory attitude or belief <we all have got to come to grips with our isms — Joycelyn Elders>

In other words, assigning negative qualities to any group of people usually turns out false. The part where I said "including this one" was because I am intelligent enough to understand that, by my definition, my "generalism" must also be false.
Let me make this clear. When I responded to your statement regarding doctors without borders, I was talking about the "generalism" made by lpnmajor that "drs are in it for the money(paraphrased)". I didn't realize you were so insecure that you would think you were being attacked by my humorous statement regarding his (again, my word) "generalism". I don't know whether you are simply immature, trying to compensate for a shortage you have in your hand when you aren't typing, or simply stupid, but if it makes you feel better, please go ahead and do your best to unleash your venom on me, I can take it and I want you to feel as big and grown up as you can. Have a good day and to all reading, enjoy a bit of humor in each of your days. Seriously, get as nasty as you can, this topic is no longer worth following for me and to any who were in this for a serious discussion, my apologies for the unintentional hijack of the topic.

For someone so defensive and full of venom (and who knows what else) I can't figure out why you're so full of yourself. But you're too small to be worth bandying words with. Bye

There are always exceptions, but exceptions do not make the rule. With it becoming harder for Dr's. to "get rich", is it surprising that fewer kids are choosing that profession? Not every Dr. can be a specialist and there are too many of those already.

Many Hospitals hire " hospitalists " to oversee inpatients because general practice Physicians don't see them there. Health care reform needed to be confined to CARE, not insurance. This focus on "method of payment" is only going to make it worse. Patients are CONSUMERS and should be treated as such by the businesses that rely on them. We have allowed the health care community to write it's own " rules of engagement", where health care delivery is concerned.

You simply made a blanket statement. Most general practitioners are not in it to get rich but to make a living and help people. It's like the plumber who does a good job, the word gets out and he has more business same with doctors. Make a buck, I sure as hell hope so, so they stick around.
