My name is Carolyn, I'm from a small town in Northern west Oregon. Born and raised on a small farm. I worked for 10 yes, owned my own business for 10 yes had 6 employees but couldn't afford the taxes. Got a different type of job worked another 10 yes. Got MS at the age of 42 & been struggling with it & bouts of cancer at the age of 66 I'm going strong day by day. I am a Democrat trying to survive a Republican world. I live on social security and with all sandards am below poverty I can't afford any more cuts in anything. We the little people who worked our whole life need the help. PLEASE help US.

No at this time no one is helping. At this time the only one helping is me though they get raises we get nothing we worked hard building up this country & I watch them tare it down Washington DC are not our freinds just our fear.

I still believe there are many good Dems around. You sound like one of them. But, I will be honest, it the l*****t liberals I can't stand. And the Rhinos are just as bad.

Hello Carolyn, I too live in ultra l*****t Oregon and have fought tooth and nail for everything that I've gained working here...what we have is a plethora of college and University options importing v**es for the liberal cause... mostly on the Western side of the state...in the less populated Central and eastern side we are on the right and some very conservative...but one thing is true...in Oregon you have mostly been subjected to the liberal progressive l*****ts ideals and not Republican...

While I empathize with your health issues, I too have suffered a life changing , limiting health crisis. I think you are looking at this from the wrong perspective. Life offers no guarantees, except that their are no guarantees, and there is no free lunch. Fair or unfair, young or old, sick or well, we are responsible for our own upkeep, failing that, we have charity. There is no magic box, holding funds for the needy, somebody pays for these services, people that dont even know you, work, and watch as a substancial chunk is taken for these programs.
Now I don't deny your need, or the fact that your circumstances have made self support impossible, but you are still not "entitled" to someone elses money. The government does not have the right to take from other citizens, that is theft, and they have committed this so extensively that those on the recieving end now believe it is a right. That just because we continue to breathe, we deserve support. But that is simply not so.

Unfortunately, most politicians believe the phrase " we the people " refers to real people, you know, those with the wherewithal to help THEM. That does NOT include those on Social security, welfare, minimum wage, or the middle class.....those folks are there to provide political hammers for pounding each others party, candidates and elected officials. It is irrelevant as to which party a politician belongs to, since they are essentially the same animal, just with different stripes.
The only advice I can offer is to get involved, stop being a victim, bug the piss out of your elected officials, get your neighbors/friends/family to bug the piss out of them, and either drive them out of office............or get them to pay attention and do their damn jobs, which is to take care of YOUR needs, not the needs of the folks with the thick checkbooks.

I am on social security as everyone else of the age of 66, I did receive it earlier age then most but it was my money that I paid into since the age of 16. You are right there should not be a free lunch but don't classify all gets this money are free loaders.
