I have been advocating for all politicians to have to face a primary challenge every time. That gives the people a true opportunity to keep their representatives responsive to the will of the people. Guaranteed victory for incumbants is what is leading to the tyranny of a government that is too big and too powerful.

Secondly, if a Republican challenger is more popular than the incumbant, and the incumbant would beat a Democrat challenger, then there is no reason to believe that the Democrat will beat the new Republican nominee.

Where were you during the Bush years? Surely you caught some of the Harry Reid act when he was declaring filibuster after filibuster and then a group of RINO Senators got together to block that nuclear action that Reid thew out some time back. Why do you think we call them RINOs? It has to do with all the things they did during those years to keep Reid relevant.
