Greed is Everywhere

There is the greed for power, for sex, forvanity, but I think that the number one category for avarice is the lust for money. For one thing, you can acquire all three of the above if you have enough of the green stuff(and I'm not talking about spinach).
Greed is a very selfish thing and can be very hurtful to others. Here is a true story illustrating that trueism:The realtors of my current home in an apartment building are kicking all of the tenants out in the snow by the end of this month so that they, the greedmeisters, can rennovate and charge more rent.Sad but all too true.
But wail not for me,my friends, for I will forge ahead, regroup and survive.I leave you with these few thoughts on that terrible human failing called greed for you to contemplate.ZENO

Sorry to hear about your getting kicked out. There is a proper way of doing this, but it would seem that these people are taking the short way and hurting a lot of people in the process. I hope everything turns out for you and the rest of the people there. Hang in there, things could be worse.

You can write letters to the editor of your paper. Look for free legal aid, plus, most lawyers offer free initial consultations. All else failing, picket your former digs.

Zeno, I'm sure they didn't just throw you and the others out on the street without proper notice. Zeno, you may be a very young person but, it's not greed. When you own investment property or anything else, you have to turn the money, you have to change and improve your investment to keep up value and return (profit). These people are in the process to increase their profit. All business owners do this. They have to make a profit to survive.
Wait until you own a business and you will see what I'm talking about.

I see you are a survivor, a double edged sword it can be, but I say in this instance "yes!! to your zest for life, for even while you see your glass having slipped a bit from being half full, you are preparing to bring it back to being back to that level again." Not everyone would have your resilience, kudos to you.

one person's greed is another person's desire to get ahead, anyone that want's to advance needs a certain amount of greed in his make-up

Just wondering out loud here, think as long as an individual doesn't cross the line, that you don't harm "another" in attaining success, that it can't be called "greed. If you have "a product" that others desire, having really strived to have that "product", and I don't, because I sat "on my laurels" so to speak, I can't possibly look at you and say "greed" is what it's all about. Your thoughts?

Don't wish to make you mad, but I need to understand if you are talking about those in control (I'm assuming you are) or just liberals in general. I'm a little slow today and wish for you to tell me about "liberals and getting their own."

I consider myself somewhere in the middle. I understand that you (and for that matter) I, think everyone should take responsibility for where "they" are in this life. I know I have and I consider myself "somewhat" liberal. I work my buns off, and cut no slack, when people come to my organic market, whining about "my prices" -- knowing that MOST of mine are as low or lower than Wally World -- and far better quality. However, when a young man, showed up with two little boys, in a rattle trap car that looked held together with baling wire, I instantly decided that I needed to have a sale. Those little boys were positively drooling. All three were rail thin. He first wanted to argue with me that he wasn't "going to take no charity." I replied it wasn't charity, I was having a sale. I then quietly told him that he needed "this time" to let go of his p***e for one moment in time, because he had two little boys who looked just about to faint from hunger.

A woman stops by frequently enough, always with the same excuse...she is living in her car, needs gas money, blah, blah, blah. Well, I wish any of my vehicles were as nice as hers. I helped her once, because I wasn't sure. However, she shows up like clockwork, every three months. I can count on it. Each time, I find a way to politely tell her to ask at the local churches, giving some sources, complete with phone numbers. I notice she now never stops by the minister's home next to my market. I don't tolerate slackers and neither does he.

Are you saying that the liberal establishment steals from the American public so that slackers can coast?

I think the best way I can answer you is to have you go back and read the liberal rants on these posts like Raylan, retnavycwo and a few others

I'm going to go back and "have" a look. I normally don't even look at the rants of Raylan because they are simply offensive, angry key bytes, having no substance, but since you have suggested that I take a look, in all seriousness I will. Just know, and I say this respectfully, that while I in no way wish to have my name and Raylan's in the same sentence, I still don't consider myself a conservative,.
