Isn't it the responsibility of a Citizen to be an informed voter on candidates and issues? And isn't it also part of our heritage to be accountable for our actions, or lack of action?

I agree that many/most voters rely on the MSM for information about issues and candidates. It takes work to be a citizen and not just a resident.

[i]People[/] are embarrassing, those with power and influence have more opportunity to be embarrassing than the average person. That being said I agree in principle with your assessment of Obama being representative of the younger generations and not accepting responsibility. But who failed to teach them?

The Canada Free Press article asks some very good questions in that penultimate paragraph. Ones we would be well advised to think on and then contact our Congressmen and Representatives with our views on the answers to those questions.

I would like to know why the Canadian Press seems to have a clearer view of American politics than most Americans do.

IMO snakes is snakes, walkin', crawlin' or ??? They still be snakes. Unfortunately Law doesn't see it quite the same way. But I bet it would work.

I totally understand why both of you are in hiding.

I believe it was Mark Twain (a good friend of mine) who said that calling a tail a leg didn't make it a leg. This was in reply to the question of how many legs a dog had.

I used to live where there were lots of rattlesnakes. I killed them when they intruded into my living space, but I never went hunting them in the wild country. Now I live where there are other kinds of venomous snakes in addition to rattlesnakes. Life has gotten trickier. At least the rattlesnakes had the decency to sound off when you were close to them, so you knew where they were. Other kinds of venomous snakes bite first without warning. I've learned to watch where I put my feet, to tell a "friendly" from an "unfriendly" and to always be prepared to deal with poisonous snakes, whether they crawl or walk.
