I very well may be perdecuted. In fact I have been and will continue to will be. But remember Christ's words..."If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you."

And the ending sentence of the article couldn't ring more true...

"We must therefore recognize moral absolutes and truth absolutes and reality absolutes. And again, we do this by being grounded in divine morality and reality. We do this by being grounded in the truth.

So, let the old and the young get together, learn together, and speak with one mind to the LGBT community. That's the least we can do for these men and women for whom Jesus died."

Why Are So Many Millennial Christians, And Millennials For That Matter, Confused About Homosexuality?
Michael Brown ~ December 14, 2018
How is it that the Bible can be so clear on a particular subject -- in this case, the subject of homosexual practice -- and yet some Christians are not clear on what the Bible says? And why does it seem that millennials in particular are confused about the Bible and homosexuality?

Here are the main reasons, some positive (meaning, the intent might be good, even if the conclusion is wrong) and some negative (meaning, there are no good reasons for the wrong conclusions).

Because They're Kind Humans Too
First, many millennial Christians have friends or family members who identify as gay or lesbian. These friends and loved ones are nice people, friendly people, decent people, hardworking people, loyal people. They are not sexual predators and they seem perfectly normal in other respects. Their relationships seem somewhat like heterosexual relationships, and from what these friends and loved ones say, they were born this way. How can it be a sin to be gay?

Second, some of these millennials grew up in church environments where gays were demonized. This only underscores the contrast between what their parents say and what the young people seem to be experiencing. Why, these millennials wonder, should I believe what my parents say when they seemed to be so biased and even bigoted?

Third, many millennials have a heart for justice. They want to fight against tyranny and oppression. They want everyone to have a level playing field. In particular, they want to stand with people who are treated unfairly, who are rejected, who are stigmatized. And who has been more stigmatized than gays (and others in the LGBT spectrum)?

Fourth, a significant percentage of millennials come from broken homes, so they're not that excited about marriage in general and certainly do not see heterosexual marriage as particularly wonderful. Why shouldn't gays have a shot at it too? Maybe, some millennials think to themselves, they'll do better than my parents did.

Fifth, many millennials equate the gospel with being nice, and it's not nice to hurt people's feelings. If they say that homosexual practice is sinful, without a doubt, they will hurt their gay friends. How could Jesus want them to do that?

Sixth, many millennials (who now call themselves "nones") have been burned by traditional religion. They've seen so much hypocrisy and so little devotion and sincerity that they question "religious" dogma, including traditional teaching on sexuality.

These would be the "positive" reasons behind coming to wrong conclusions about homosexuality.

Truth and Love Must Go Together
In response, I would note the following to each point:

1) There are nice, hardworking, decent Muslims, atheists, Buddhists, and others. Yet, as followers of Jesus, we still believe they need Jesus. As for people being born gay, there remains no reputable scientific evidence that this is true. And even if it was true, Jesus tells us that we need to be born again. All of us are sinful by nature.

2) It's a terrible shame that churches sometimes demonized gays in the past. Let's not make the opposite error of denying what Scripture says about homosexual relationships.

3) It's great to fight for the underdog, but passion for justice can be shortsighted when it forgets about other, even larger issues, such as God's intent for marriage or how LGBT activism is the principle threat to our freedoms of conscience, speech, and religion. Let's not undermine important societal foundations while treating others with love and respect.

4) The solution to broken homes is not to redefine marriage but to rediscover the sacred nature of marriage, which includes lifelong, loving, sacrificial relationships made before God and kept before God.

5) It's wonderful to be nice, but not at the expense of telling the truth. It may sound nice, but it is hardly loving.

6) People in churches may fail, but Jesus remains true and His Word remains unchanging.

'Your Truth,' 'My Truth' and God's Truth
Here are main the "negative" reasons many millennials come to the wrong conclusions about homosexuality.

The first is scriptural ignorance. There is an incredible lack of Bible knowledge in the American Church today, in particular among millennials. We can debate whether this is the fault of their parents, the fault of their churches, their own fault, or simply the result of growing up in a digital, soundbite world.

Whatever the cause, there can be little debate that some of the most fundamental truths are hardly known today and that basic questions about the Bible mystify all too many. Things that were taken for granted in past generations cannot be taken for granted today. We must get back to the Word!

We must therefore recognize moral absolutes and truth absolutes and reality absolutes. And again, we do this by being grounded in divine morality and reality.

The second factor is relativism. These young people have been raised in an environment where everything is relative -- and I don't just mean morality. There is relative truth, as in "your truth" and "my truth." There is even relative reality, as in, "I identify as part human, part parrot." Or, "I identify as black even though my skin is white."

The school systems have bought into this deception and have made it part of their sacred gospel. No wonder those who have been raised in this educational malaise have become so deeply confused. (And on the university level, it's far, far more aggressive and anti-God.)

'Grounded in Divine Morality'
We must therefore recognize moral absolutes and truth absolutes and reality absolutes. And again, we do this by being grounded in divine morality and reality. We do this by being grounded in the truth.

So, let the old and the young get together, learn together, and speak with one mind to the LGBT community. That's the least we can do for these men and women for whom Jesus died.

Do you find it odd that a businessman would want to expand into the world market?

This is what capitalism is all about. Working to expand your business empire is not illegal. Everybody does not depend on government to feed and. Clothe them. That is mainly the liberal idea of democracy.

Notice that Bob has no "snappy" comment for that?

I agree! Ephesians 1:4 It all goes hand in hand! Actually, I have read many scriptures on this and I can quite easily get to going in my own little circle! The Holy Spirit is our guide at all times! He’s our guide, not our boss! By that I mean that we don’t always listen and take His advice. We are always a sinner, as long as we are breathing! That’s why our Lord had to die for our sins! Right! And that’s why we acknowledge when we know we sinned and ask for forgiveness! And I ask for continual guidance and to not give up on me! I hate it when I know I disappoint Him!

Would you please explain your last sentence. I don’t know if I might disagree or if I don’t understand completely!
🙏🏻 Thank you!

Maranatha!
I agree! Ephesians 1:4 It all goes hand in hand!... (show quote)

Think of it as we are saved and we are being saved. When we become saved, positionally,we are saved is the best way I can think of it (we're "good to go"). But practically, as Paul said, we
still have to "run the race." This night explain it better.

https://www.gotquestions.org/run-the-race-set-before-us.html

Our pastor has used this analogy. In baseball a walk off homer wins the game as soon it's hit. Game over...we win. However, the batter must still run the bases and touch home plate to make it official.

I hope this helps.

Wheaton College Students Bash Pro-Life Speaker for Making Them Feel ‘Unsafe’
Tom Cicotta ~ December 14, 2018
Students at the Evangelical Christian Wheaton College in Illinois said that a guest lecture from a pro-life speaker made them feel “unsafe” while recounting his life story of being a Black American conceived through rape and put up for adoption at birth.

The Wheaton College College Republicans recently invited pro-life speaker Ryan Bomberger to speak on campus. Bomberger travels to campuses to give a lecture entitled “Black Lives Matter: In and Outside the Womb.” Bomberger was conceived through rape and put up for adoption after birth. He speaks about his personal story as a Black American during his campus lectures.

According to a report from Campus Reform, leaders of the student government at Wheaton College published a statement that condemned the speech, arguing that Bomberger made students feel “unsafe” on campus.

[i]As many of you know, a special interest club hosted an event on Wednesday night titled, “Black Lives Matter: In and Outside the Womb”. The speaker of this event, Ryan Bomberger, made several comments at the event that deeply troubled members of our community. His comments, surrounding the topic of race, made many students, staff, and faculty of color feel unheard, underrepresented, and unsafe on our campus.

As Student Government, we are committed to the College’s mission to promoting student programming (at least they're honest ~ mwdegutis) that “pursues unity, embraces ethnic diversity, and practices racial reconciliation so that it will contribute to the education of whole persons”, and therefore, felt it necessary to respond to the offensive rhetoric from the speaker at this event that compromised this mission. We would like to reaffirm that call in our Community Covenant to “pursue unity and embrace ethnic diversity as part of God’s design for humanity and practice racial reconciliation as one of his redemptive purposes in Christ”. As a community, we seek to affirm the worth of all human beings as unique image-bearers of God. We also look to recognize and challenge any situations that may hinder this mission.

Bomberger responded to the statement by arguing that the students only want Blacks to hold certain perspectives.

“It would be a disservice to the students if I, as an African-American, were only allowed to express a particular (and decidedly secular) perspective on culture-shifting issues,” Bomberger wrote in an email statement. “I am a person of color, a clarifying fact which you conveniently left out of your letter of denouncement… For anyone —student, faculty, or staff — to claim that they were ‘unheard’ or ‘underrepresented’ obviously didn’t stay for the 25 minutes of Q&A that followed or the additional 30 minutes that I stayed and responded to more thoughtful questions… Are students at Wheaton taught to fear or taught to think?”

I agree! Jesus practiced tough love! He gives us many chances, but when he gives us that last chance, He’s done! That’s why we must never continue to tell Him no! It may have been the last chance.

We each have the responsibility to control our anger and our vicious tongues. We are blessed with a mind, conscience, and will. The Holy Spirit can advise or council or proad us, but we have the final say, I think ! This is just my opinion! I’m not a theologian! My Daddy taught us to be responsible for our actions! He was adamant! He was the most gentle man I’ve ever known and my greatest teacher, and the toughest cowboy!!! I learned to love and depend on Jesus by him!

You and Rose are living proof of being responsible and using the mind that you were blessed with. You answered

I agree! Jesus practiced tough love! He gives us... (show quote)

TexaCan, yes we are responsible for controlling our anger and vicious tongues but there is absolutely NO WAY we can do it in our own power. We must have a change of heart. And the only way that can happen is through the power of the Holy Spirit. But remember that even though we have that power if we "tap into it," we still have a sinful nature and can stumble. If and when that happens, then we need to confess our sin and ask Jesus' forgiveness, which he gave for all our sins, past, present, and future by what he did for us on the cross. Also remember, when we become saved, we are "good to go" positionally but practically we will be working out our salvation "with fear and trembling" until we're redeemed.
