Yes, I am a very strong believer in term limits and limited government all around. Why do we need over 4,000 regulations to run the same country that was run 240 years ago with barely over 100? I see today the military budget was recommended for a much improved budget. I pray it makes it through both sides of Congress but I m not very optimistic (yet). I do have one other question that might not be too popular but I for one am very interested in seeing the Fed audited. Wonder why that is not done whenever the President leaves office?

ON ITS surface, the question posited above could for some, to be a daunting one. However, given the underlying tone I feel it relatively important to respond as succinctly and directly as possible.
I have to believe that anyone who seeks the knowledge of another must in his/her own mind have an opinion and since I am quite willing to share my point of view, I feel it incumbent upon the inquirer to share in kind. It is my hope, as I follow-up that this would indeed be the case.
Marcus Tullius Cicero (c. 106-43 B.C.) was the great defender of the Roman republic and a master of oratory. The author of several books on politics, philosophy, and rhetoric, he was the first to speak of natural law as a moral or political law, and was an important influence on our great nation's Founders.
Around 54-51 B.C. he wrote: "true law is right reason, consonant with nature, spread through all people. It is consonant and eternal; it summons to duty by its orders, it deters from crime by its prohibitions. Its orders and prohibitions to good people are never given in vain; but it does not move the wicked by these orders or prohibitions. It is wrong to pass laws obviating this law; it is not permitted to abrogate any of it; it cannot be totally repealed. We cannot be released from this law by the senate or the people, and it needs no exegete or interpreter like Sextus Aelius. There will not be one law at Rome and another at Athens, one now and another later; but all nations at all times will be bound by this one eternal and unchangeable law, and God will be one common Master and General (so to speak) of all people. He is the Author, Expounder and Mover of this law; and the person who does not obey Him will be in exile from himself. Insofar as he scorns his nature as a human being, by this very fact he will pay the greatest penalty, even if he escapes all the other things that are generally recognized as punishments...." (Ref. "On the Commonwealth," in James E.G. Zetel, ed., Cambridge University Press, 1999; 71-72).
So fifty-five delegates from twelve states (Rhode Island declined to participate) traveled to Philadelphia to attend the Constitutional Convention, which began in May 1787. They quickly scrapped the existing Articles of Confederation, and after four long months they concluded their business by adopting a new frame of government. On September 17th, 39 delegates signed what we hold today, the Constitution of the United States of America. It was nine months before the requisite nine-states ratified this Constitution, putting it into effect. The 13th state ratified it in 1790, and subsequently it has been ratified twenty-seven times.
At this point, I would note that pastors and ministers were among the highest educated citizens in the American colonies, and often addressed politics from the pulpit. As a source of reference for my perspective here, I should like to write excerpts from Gad Hitchcock (1718-1803), which was delivered in the presence of General Thomas Gage, the British military governor of the Province of Massachusetts Bay. Basically it decries monarchical rule and celebrates the idea of the consent of the governed, appealing to reason as well as revelation: "....This form of government, in the opinion of subjects and strangers, is happily calculated for the preservation of the Bill of Rights and Liberties of mankind..." "In such a government, rulers have their distinct powers assigned to them by the PEOPLE, who are the ONLY SOURCE of civil authority on earth, with the view of having them exercised for the public advantage, and in proportion as worthy end of their investiture is kept in sight, and prosecuted, the bands of society are strengthened, and its interests promoted...." It goes on to say, "Rulers are under the most sacred ties to consult the good of society....." "For the promotion of this valuable end, they are ORDAINED OF GOD, and clothed with authority by men..."
So in an ideal society, (to my belief), in a state of nature men are equal, exactly on a par in regard to authority; each one is a law to himself, having the law of God, the sole rule of conduct, written on each man's heart. So I further believe that mental endowments, though excellent qualifications for rulers, should use those attributes in the advice, persuasion and to do good proportionate to the degrees of each, yet do not give any antecedent right to the exercise of authority without a moral obligation from the Supreme Author and Finisher.
So in contemplating your question, I could go much deeper into what to me would be far from utopian, but at least ideal in the sense that we must be governed and the rule of law exercised, by stating unequivocally, that America needs only to return to the Founding Father's ideals for a Christian nation and once again, take up the values and principles of the Constitution as set forth under the guidance and grace of Almighty God.
Today, I believe that Christ is standing outside of Washington D.C. knocking. His knocking is good news. We know that Christ is all powerful and can walk through any door so why does He not just enter into the hearts of every man?
The answer is in the Word of God...Fellowship cannot be forced. Communion cannot be commanded. Christ cannot have fellowship with us by breaking down the door. He seeks a deeper fellowship with us than we do with Him.
Let's put God back in the hearts and minds of Congress, the legislature, the Supreme Court, the state Capitals, and the city councils and schools. God Bess America (again)!

One would be most wise to evaluate one's own life and compare oneself to what the God of the Bible recommends one to do before casting unethical stones at a pillar of American democracy. When one has thoroughly exposed oneself as publically as those who are willingly stepping out for the cause of freedom and liberty and a free Republic, then, and only then, might one have merit in the arena of criticism. Enough said!!

AMEN to OPP!! I would like to encourage those who would to emulate people like a dear friend I recently lost this past December.
To my way of thinking he was a true American hero and patriot. His name was John Baptist Kotmair, Jr. from Westminster, Maryland.
A funeral is a valued reminder that we too will one day pass as we reflect on a loved one's passing and how finite and short our time on this earth really is. But more than that, it is a time to think about or examine what we are living for and ask ourselves how we have treated each other as well as other serious questions we tend to brush aside in the normal daily grind. But this too, is not what the thrust of my posting.

John's passion was to educate the public concerning our Christian heritage and legacy of a Constitutionally limited government left for Americans by our Founding Fathers. In remembering what the Founders used to pick their leaders I firmly believe we need to analyze that philosophy just a bit. They strictly followed the guidelines of Exodus 18:21. "Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people ABLE MEN, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness"; notice that God put and ABLE MAN before a man that feared God. While having lived a mere 7 decades, I can hardly recall a time when an able man was chosen over a God fearing man down through history. Clearly there have been many God fearing men who have been proven to be simply incompetent at worst, and basically unqualified to lead at best, in any capacity.
Obama was not God fearing, was not a Christian and proved to be totally incompetent. Bill Clinton was not God fearing and was out of our personal power. Jimmy Carter claimed to be a Christian but held Israel in contempt and proved to be...well...misleading. FDR was God fearing but totally incapable of performing his job. And Woodrow Wilson turned out to be almost Anti-American with the segregated military, which labeled him a racist, among other anti-American ideologies.
I could go on and on about our leadership but there are things we need to pay close attention to when we elect someone to serve "We the People". Our Founders designed a system that works if it is worked correctly. "Able men" are men who understand how business works, who understand the needs of a nations people, a person who creates opportunities for growth within the parameters of each person's specific interests. In other words, we should vet each elected official from the local dog catcher to the President of this great United States.
So because of John's zeal and love for his fellow-man and country he was identified as an enemy of the Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service. They attacked him and the Fellowship he created without cause on numerous occasions. In 1981, using a stacked jury, they convicted him of "failure to file" and sentenced him to two years in Federal prison. In 1993 they raided the Fellowship and attempted to shut its doors and put him in prison once again. John and the members of the Fellowship prevailed under the Author of Liberty, God Himself.
So when we evaluate our own lives I suppose one of the most important questions we could asked would be based in what Jesus commanded in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Yes, the evaluated and vetted life is of Christ and worth living indeed.
Most American patriots who knew John Kotmair remember him as one of the strongest voices for his efforts in getting fairness and honesty in the tax assessment for the individual and small businesses. He and his wife Nancy recruited for the Patriot Network as well as their National Patriot Association. In addition to founding Save-A-Patriot Fellowship, he was the founder and fiduciary of Liberty Works Radio Network Fellowship. May he rest in peace!

This very simple question can be answered equally simply. And given the state and condition of our great nation, we would ALL do well to learn from this obviously misunderstood ideal.
Our President surrounds himself, and even travels with a number of religious advisers and supporters. Though He may not tell us the exact point at which he seeks their guidance and support, we can rest assured he is being coached by our Supreme Leader (God), in his daily activities.
Now to answer that posted question: I respectfully submit that our illustrious President worships every day, as should we all. Clearly, it would serve us well collectively as a Constitutional Republic, to reach out to our Creator equally as frequently, since given our recent history in previous administrations, God's guidance, if sought, was clearly ineffective.
This, of course, is my humble opinion to which we are all entitled!

There are several sources (which by the way many of which have gradually relegated themselves to the dung heap), that are usually ever-present in the Henry homestead.
I will begin with the Dallas-Ft. Worth Newspaper and our local paper.
Second, Fox News always holds a respectable place as a news source.
Third, Generally this little box here called a computer holds titillating and realistic/unrealistic feeds depending on which of the well over 150 e-mails I peruse each day.
Finally, tending to boycott all "mainstream" newsfeeds (i.e., CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC etc.), I belong to a highly informed and greatly diversified group from my Alma- Mater with whom I share a cup (or two), of java about 3 days each week.
**NOTE: I might add, further, that, at the risk of being labeled a kisser-upper, I find sorting the reality from the rhetoric here fun and moderately challenging. However, some days are quite fruitless and some I find better as you are already keenly aware, I am certain. -- Henry

Hmm!! Everything up thread is quite enlightening and in some cases well informed. Essentially, however, though all demonstrate a latent discontent in the established foundational Constitutional history of these great United States of America, and even though much thought has been demonstrated as well, I feel free to speak with great unambiguous authority: It is all collective mental masturbation!
Further, 228 years ago a great man named George issued a proclamation that declared it "the duty of all nations" to acknowledge God's providence, obey His will, be thankful for His blessings, and pray to Him. That's a fact people, the nation's first president called for the American people to "humbly implore His protection and favor" as well as "beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions."
So it is my contribution here, to First seek pardon; Second, in humility seek forgiveness for our nations transgressions as well as our own; Third, let Him guide us into the future as the Founding Fathers so faithfully did, and maybe, just maybe, America will be Great Again for another 228 plus/minus years! Just a quick note on this McCain saga, though it has been eloquently stated and correctly written here, the John McCain credibility and subsequent reputation was less than stellar when he left over 300 Vietnam POW's in Laos and Cambodian and Vietnamese prison camps instead of pursuing an effort to bring them home to the suffering families in America.
This excuse for ambulatory humanity has never had the best interest of this great nation in his black heart. If anything he has his hands in does not edify or enhance John McCain, he will clearly betray everyone else in its demise.

There is nothing short of my personal relationship with my God that I would not do to defend and protect my children and their children from the tyranny and anti-American agendas currently being perpetrated against our Democratically elected President, Donald J. Trump, and the Constitutional government of this great nation.

I too swore an oath many years ago and there was no time limits placed on it. There are pockets of Christian like-thinkers who are prepared and committed to do what ever needs to be done and will absolutely not allow anyone or any group to infringe on our God given American values and principles. Am always intrigued at the loud and distracting protesting being paid for by the Soro's fund when every one of the swamp people become exposed for who they are. Our President is doing what we voted him in office to do, and naturally many of the hypocrites and liars object to being exposed for who they are. If America thought like Jerry Brown, this nations 5 million Muslims would be doubled (or worse) and Sharia Law would replace the Constitution. I for one will spill my blood on American soil and draw my final breath defending our way of life for my progeny. Donald J. Trump is restoring American values to America one swamp critter at a time. I applaud his work, and fall-in behind his very capable leadership in support and defense of our much cherished values of the Constitutional Founding Fathers. Semper Fi, Donald J. Trump.
