As far as sleep apnea goes, l seem to sleep better and without CPAP in a semi prone position as in my recliner. I'd be interested to know if you've ever tried that and if so your results.

Hi Flash,
Funny, my urologist hasn't mentioned kegel exercises to help me with my control. I'll have to look them up on WebMD, and see if they help me. Quite frankly, I'm sick and tired of wearing Depends. We have a Craftmatic king bed which is split. Actually, it's two twins together so we each have our own controls. I've never tried sleeping like that without my CPAP, in fact, it's time to go for another sleep test. We have one doctor who specializes in sleep disorders in Oklahoma City. He'll probably prescribe a new machine, and I need to change from the full face mask I've been using to a nasal mask that just covers my nose.

I have congestive heart failure so my legs and feet tend to swell, so I keep my feet up at night, I also raise the head, so effectively I'm sleeping in a recliner, although my feet are higher than they would be in a recliner. Sleeping like this keeps my feet from swelling, but I still have to take water pills during the day to help flush the water out of my system. And because that also flushes potassium, I also have to take prescription potassium pills twice a day. It's a never ending cycle.

You must be careful and use the "One-and-a-Half-minute law" which is scientifically proven. By waking up suddenly for one's physiological needs normally, we often hear that someone "was well in good health and died suddenly during the night without reason.

The most likely reason is that when that person woke up to go to the bathroom, he/she got up from bed in a hurry, but the brain needs greater blood flow, for having rested, causing a state of fainting and that is when the stroke happens. It is recommended to learn the "One-and-a-Half-minute law" that can save your life.

When you wake up to go to the bathroom, you must first: Lay for 30 seconds after waking up and then sit up in bed for 30 more seconds lowering your legs quietly and sit like that for another 30 seconds and only then get up to go to the bathroom.

With these steps, the chances are gigantic to survive a sudden stroke, regardless of age..

Prevention is better than healing.

Don,
Since I've had prostate cancer, my warning time for going to the bathroom is measured in seconds, usually 10 to 15. Luckily that only pertains to my waking hours. That's because I'm on CPAP every night for sleep apnea and I haven't had to get up in the middle of the night since 1998 when I started the CPAP. Why, you might ask? It seems that while I'm on the CPAP, I tend to go into REM sleep more often, and when in REM sleep, urine production goes way down, so I dream more and don't have to get up to go to the bathroom. Before that I was getting up at least once every night, but usually twice.

With sleep apnea, your throat collapses when you go to sleep and your muscles relax and you stop breathing. When your brain detects the CO2 buildup in your blood, it wakes you up just long enough to take a loud snoring breath. If you're sleeping with your wife like I was, it will scare the hell out of her. The problem is, you're not awake long enough to remember waking up. When I had my first sleep test, I averaged 57 events per hour, with the longest being 54 seconds. My SAO2 (blood/oxygen) level was down at 75%, it should be 95-96% normally. The constant CO2 levels cause you to wake up with a bad headache in the back of your head. As soon as I started the CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) which is basically just an air stent keeping your airway open, all of the symptoms went away. I wear a mask over my nose that's connected to a hose. The hose is connected to the back of the machine at the water tank which provides humidity so my throat doesn't dry out.

There is a serious disconnect here on this narrative of the "investigation". Who controls an investigation determines how the investigation is done...PERIOD. McCain's father who was the fleet admiral controlled the investigation. McCain was removed from the Forrestal within hours and transferred to his father's ship.

If the 40 witnesses who saw what happened are told that this is a matter of top secret security and they are never to speak about what they saw, most military men are going to take it to their graves, or as happened only talk about it as they are one step away from dying.

The facts are in stone and not debated, it's between the lines that is. There was footage that became classified that really had no need for secrecy except to cover unfortunate facts. If a tragic "accident" occurred there would be no need for secrecy, would there?

McCain had been under fire for "hot shotting", which was manually injecting fuel in the starting chamber and then igniting it, which blasted a long flame out the back of the plane. It was said that he had blasted an F4 that was behind him in line, and that caused a missile to fire into McCain's plane. Footage showed McCain running from his plane and the fire fighting effort that took place. The fire fighting footage of the accident was used in training for over a year until it was recognized that it led to some rather damning evidence leading up to the fire. The footage used to be available but isn't now.

Had McCain been treated with the same rules any other pilot in the Navy is this may have never happened. He repeatedly got away with this hot shotting stunt where any other pilot would have been taken off as a pilot.

I don't usually like to stir the pot, however, it's obvious you didn't take the time to watch the video I included with my post. Had you watched that video, you would have seen proof that Admiral McCain and his son, John McCain, had absolutely nothing to do with the fire or this investigation.

It was a combination of a failure to observe safety protocols in regards to the Zuni rocket pods carried by the F4's and the fact that the A4 Skyhawks were loaded with old WW II bombs. Why the old bombs, because the Pentagon was running out of munitions and had these old left over bombs which had been delivered to the FORRESTAL the day before.

The safety protocol that was violated, was a decision by the F4 pilots to have their munitions loaders plug the Zuni rocket pods into the F4's electrical system when the pods were hung on the wings. There was still a safety pin with a red flag that would be pulled just prior to launch. The reason for this change, was because it took the launch crew longer to plug in the pod and pull the pins just prior to launch. This step would mean the launch crews could launch planes faster, since all the crew had to do was pull the pin on the pods as the nose wheel was being attached to the catapult.

As for the old bombs, they had been in storage for years and were rusty. Not only that, but they had a shorter cookoff time. In fact their cookoff time was over a minute shorter than the conventional bombs of the time (i.e. the 60's)
Cookoff time is the time it takes the bomb to explode once it's exposed to fire.

Another problem, when the first bomb exploded it killed most of the trained firefighters onboard. From then on, the only firefighters they had, had to rely on what they learned in boot camp about fighting fires. They correctly used foam to try to quell the flames, which was the correct move, but some of then we're also using water, and all that accomplished was to wash away the foam.

So, if choose to, you can see all of this in the video including how the investigator initially determined what started the sequence of events. I'll let you see that for yourself.

The unfortunate fire that occurred on the USS FORRESTAL that a lot of conspiracy theorists have tried to blame on Jonn McCain had absolutely nothing to do with him. In fact he's not even mentioned in this video other than they show his name on a pilots assignment board at the very beginning. The following documentary and investigation is 1:25:00 Long, but you can skip through some of it.

If you start at the 21:30 Mark you can skip most of the conflagration and get to the actual investigation.

I agree, everyone should have to pay a BIG fine and serve time. I think 24-36 months would be sufficient to teach them a lesson and to show the rest of the elites the laws also apply to them. The same thing should be happening to those Senators and Congress people who violate the laws like writing bad checks, dui, tax evasion, sexual harassment, etc. No one should be above the law!!

I saw that video myself and it wasn't that long ago. I believe she was speaking to the crowd and it wasn't a "hot Mic" moment. Seems like it was just a couple of weeks ago, but then at my age time has been flying by so fast it's hard to say. If I happen to run across the video, I'll post the link on here.

Kamala Harris skirts the truth on 2012 settlement for American homeowners: Report
March 13, 2019

Kamala Harris isn’t being truthful about the mortgage crisis settlement she helped negotiate, according to a report by The Intercept.

The Democrat candidate has long touted a $25 billion settlement she helped “win” for homeowners in 2012 as proof that she’s a warrior for the middle class — but the deal she helped negotiate delivered next to nothing for victims while failing to hold the banks accountable.

Indeed, while Harris describes the deal as a success, it failed to help many foreclosure victims actually keep their homes.

Harris misrepresents mortgage settlement:
Harris has long touted her role in negotiating the 2012 nationwide settlement with Bank of America, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and Ally Bank when she was California attorney general as a major success. Harris and 49 other state attorneys general worked out the deal, with the Obama administration leading the charge.

“We went after the five biggest banks in the United States. We won $20 billion together,” Harris told supporters in her campaign kick-off speech in Oakland.

Harris pulled California out of the negotiations in 2011 when the deal was for just $20 billion and the banks were asking to be released from legal liabilities, a deal she called inadequate at the time. But the final deal wasn’t much better.

Harris has overstated the relief the deal actually delivered for the millions victimized by predatory lenders. Her state of California got the biggest piece of the $25 billion pie — nearly $20 billion — but the settlement didn’t help victims keep their homes, and what homeowners received in hard cash was, in proportion to the harm they suffered, a pittance.

The settlement included $20 billion in mortgage relief that did not actually help most victims keep their homes. Half of that $20 billion came in the form of short sales, in which homes are sold at less than the outstanding mortgage. This practice is better for homeowners than foreclosure in terms of their credit standing, but nevertheless involves loss of the home.

Another $9.2 billion came in the form of principal forgiveness on first and second mortgages, with more than half going toward second mortgages. But banks hardly paid a price, as most of those second loans were delinquent. And while loan forgiveness might have provided some relief, the settlement granted fewer than 33,000 Californians — and 83,000 Americans across the country — forgiveness on their primary mortgages.

In terms of hard cash, the settlement included $1.5 billion in checks to victims averaging a dismal $1,480, and $3.5 billion to states, money which was never directed to go to homeowners. Then-California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) ended up using most of the state’s $410 million portion of that money for budgetary expenses, and it has never been restored to the relief fund for victims of foreclosure, despite a lawsuit.

Letting big banks off the hook
While misrepresenting what the deal actually delivered for victims, Harris has similarly played up the penalty for the banks. The 50-state task force of which Harris was a part has been faulted for not failing to hold the banks accountable for criminal foreclosure fraud, and Harris played a role in this oversight.

The banks that illegally foreclosed on millions of homes never faced serious penalties. A mortgage fraud “strike force” that Harris formed went after scam artists looking to benefit from the crisis with “foreclosure rescue” schemes, but did not prosecute the banks that created the crisis.

Harris’ office also declined to prosecute Steve Mnuchin’s bank OneWest despite evidence of “widespread misconduct;” Mnuchin violated state foreclosure laws. Harris said that she “followed the facts and the evidence… We pursued it just like any other case. We go and we take a case wherever the facts lead us.”

Financially, the banks paid a meager price, since they were mostly writing off delinquent loans or else “banks could modify loans they serviced on behalf of investors, who took the actual hit. This means that banks paid much of their fine with other people’s money,” according to the Intercept.

Far from punishing the banks and helping homeowners, Harris’ settlement let predatory lenders off the hook for criminal misconduct while doing little to help victims. And while that’s not her fault alone, she is responsible for misrepresenting what she actually “won” for homeowners in her state and across the country.

Then why do I make my checks out to the US Treasury when I pay my Federal Income Tax and send it to Cincinnati? I have known IRS agents and worked with them in several states, including Alaska, Wisconsin, and Colorado, both as preparer and collector, have sat with clients in audits and answered questions as to how the returns were prepared, and they were well trained, well educated on tax rules and regulations, and nearly all of them had accounting degrees. I once attended a meeting of tax protesters who stated that since our money is no longer backed by gold, it is not legal tender, therefore none of us makes income to be taxed. They call the money "Ferns"-Federal Reserve Notes. But if that is true, how does anyone purchase anything for themselves or their family? The dollars are legal tender by act of Congress, not by intrinsic value. So, I think I would be careful before buying into some of these scams and lies purported to be news. Tax collection became part of the Constitution in 1913 via the 16th amendment. Prior to that, the revenue act of 1861 was repealed in 1872. Most money was collected via tariffs. The Supreme Court upheld the right of taxation in Brushaber v Union Pacific Railroad. Back in the day when I got my cancelled checks returned, the stamp on the back showed the US Treasury. Black Jack Cadillac still had another plan-- He had slipped the cub a peppermint stick while he was talking with his poppa which the cub was crazy over and wanted another one. As he backed away he made sure his bag of peppermint sticks were in full view. That night when the cub crept into his camp to steal the candy Black Jack put him in a sack and took off to where The executives from Toho pictures were waiting for him. Thump Drag was in hot pursuit. Meanwhile Godzilla had signed on for yet another film. "I've been doing this since 1954 don't you think I deserve a raise?" Godzilla climbed out of the sea with his little son who wanted to go with poppa. When he sat him down the little guy just took off and disappeared. Godzilla shot flames out of his nostrils and charged forward thinking that Thump Drag had his baby.. Thump Drag thought the same thing about him. Thump Drag wrapped his chain around Godzillas' neck---His arms were too short and worthless to pull the chain off so he flipped him forward and slapped Thump Drag with his tail sending him rolling. The action was great. The producers from Toho were beyond thrilled. They called their stock brokers in Tokyo and right away they were bringing in more capital than the last forty movies combined. The fight continued with Godzilla and Thump drag both enraged beyond all imagination. They locked in a death grip and tumbled over a cliff and they looked up and saw their kids in the lookout tower. At that moment they knew that that had been taken for fools. They raced together toward the lookout tower--Godzilla scorching the earth and Thump Drag up rooting trees. The directors of Toho were confused by the sudden turn away from the script but they kept filming because the shots were so incredible. Godzilla and Thump drag reached the lookout tower and their children bounded into their arms. They walked off together with thump drags arm over his best buddy Godzillas shoulders. Cut cut Cut !! A mega fortune was wiped out instantly and the Nikkei stock exchange collapsed that day. New Complaint Alleges Trump Family Defrauded Would-Be Entrepreneurs Through Multi-Level-Marketing Scheme; Plaintiffs Move to Sue Under Pseudonyms
By Michael Keough on October 29, 2018
Posted in SDNY Blog
A complaint filed today alleges that Donald J. Trump, the Trump Organization, and members of the Trump family falsely promoted the multi-level-marketing scheme ACN, reaping millions of dollars in secret payments to promote the scheme that led to would-be entrepreneurs losing millions of dollars. According to the complaint, the members of the purported class invested in the multi-level-marketing scheme by paying fees and purchasing training sessions that would allow them to sell ACN’s products (which included an obsolete “video phone”). ACN events featured prominent Trump endorsements of the scheme, allegedly without revealing that Trump was being compensated for his endorsement or that investing in the scheme came with high risk and was unlikely to result in any return to the investors (with costs at some times exceeding returns by a factor of ten to one).

The complaint includes federal RICO claims as well as state law and common law claims.

The plaintiffs are three individuals (and putative class representatives) who have also just filed a motion to proceed under pseudonyms. Their motion begins:

Even for the most sophisticated and well-resourced adversaries, filing suit to hold the President of the United States accountable for breaking the law is a perilous decision. The current President, Donald J. Trump, has a documented history of wielding his wealth, stature, and Twitter account to attack people whom he perceives to be his enemies, including people who file lawsuits against him. That has been true for decades, and it has remained true since he was elected to a position that affords him the largest bully pulpit on the planet. But the threat to Plaintiffs here now extends far beyond President Trump’s own tweets or rallies. In the current environment, President Trump’s political followers instantly unleash harassment, verbal assaults, cyberattacks, and even death threats against anyone who dares to challenge him—whether politically or in a court of law

A judge has not yet been assigned.

===============================================

If they (the Southern District of New York) finds him guilty of RICO violations they can confiscate ALL of his money and properties as well as that of anyone else involved like Don Jr. and Ivanka and it may even affect Melania. Can you say President Pelosi, or President Clinton immediately after Pelosi! Can you say Revolution!!

Someone mentioned adoption earlier. My grandson and his wife have been trying to adopt a baby for a couple of years now. They don't want one from another country, but one from here. The only problem is, there aren't enough here to go around because they're all being murdered by the abortionists. It's looking more and more like our state is working on a bill to outlaw abortions except in certain circumstances and then only up to the end of the FIRST trimester. I understand there are several states that are doing the same thing. Hopefully, if this comes to pass, there will be more adoptable babies from this country.
