College student ashamed of her conservative father until he said this…

About to finish her first year of college, a young woman, like so many others her age, considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat who was very much in favor of the redistribution of wealth.
So deeply ashamed of her father for his staunch Republican values, she openly expressed her feelings of resentment toward him. Basing her feelings on the lectures she had participated in, and conversations with her professors, she felt deep down that her father harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should rightfully be his.
One day she decided to challenge him on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the imposition of more government welfare programs. Indicating to her father that her professors and school had to be telling the truth, he simply responded by asking how she was doing in school.
Tacked aback, she haughtily responded that she had a perfect 4.0 GPA, letting him know it was difficult to maintain and insisted that she was taking a very difficult course load and was stuck constantly studying. This kept her from partying like all other students she knew, she didn’t even have time for a boyfriend or any real friends because of her studies.
Her father patiently listened and then asked, “How is your best friend Audrey doing?”
She replied, “Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She’s always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn’t even show up for classes because she’s too hung over.”
Then the wise father asked his daughter, “Why don’t you go to the Dean’s office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.”
Visibly shocked by her father’s suggestion, she angrily fired back, “That wouldn’t be fair! I have worked really hard for my grades! I’ve invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!”
The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, “Welcome to the Republican Party.

Others take away what is not their own, and are always in want.

As you know, it all depends on whose ox is getting gored. I would love to see the commie, extreme environment, anti-gun, tax and spend nitwits get what they propose for everyone else. They profess a love for the stone age and I think they should get what they wish for. What a bunch of hypocritical morons.

First of all, I just heard the facts about the income of the Clinton foundation employee. Women are paid about 70% of the male counterparts. There is also a slight difference in the Trump corporations. Women have a slight edge in income but generally men and women execs are paid the same.

What about the enormous income differential in professional sports? Should all players be paid the same regardless of ability and talent? Should a professional champion boxer be paid the same as a third string quarterback in the NFL or a rookie MLB infielder?

Should your physician be paid the same as a fry cook? The controversy about free college tuition becomes a mute point. Who would want to put in the effort and time to attend college when you will be paid the same as a high school drop-out?

Income equality will create a classless society with everyone being low class. Income equality is not the redistribution of wealth but the redistribution of poverty. Without competition for financial reward there will never be progress.

Your financial rewards and life style should be based on talent, ability, effort, utility and how you apply your individual talents and skills. Regardless of your knowledge and skills you should be rewarded for your accomplishments and contribution to Society.

If we need to increase taxes we should start by slapping a 90% tax on the income of lobbyist

Exxon is pro second amendment, so I buy my fuel from them. I do not purchase from Conoco, Weyerhauser, Levi Strauss and other gun grabbers. Different strokes. And the point about corporations passing along fines, taxes and other costs to customers? That is how capitalism works.

The Second Amendment protects only gun owners, so it is not a right but a privilege for an elite class of people. The Second Amendment is a direct threat to my right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Unrestricted gun ownership? This is a threat on the common good. It is domestic terrorism. The irresponsible proliferation of arms to any citizen to use in any form they feel a need, is an abomination.

Don't you know you're a biggot if you don't like the status quo? More people need to speak the truth if we're to survive the trash we've been fed for the past 7 years.

Oh dear, except for possibly Reagan and Kennedy, the trash has been spewing forth from every administration for over one hundred years. These people are elitist, globalist, central planning, New world order assholes. American citizens along with their Second Amendment rights are the only thing keeping these tyrants from tipping their hand about what they really want to do. Keep your powder dry and study the Constitution and get ready for the fight of your life.

Our choice of words may differ but we see a lot in the same light.

I would put it more like this:

The Constitution is not a static set of rules. It carries the frame work for Us to adapt to the changes when & as needed.

Life has become much more complex. More attention is need to adjust to the new sets of problems.

The role of government will grow in complexity with the growth of life's complexities.

I put it as we need an effective Government that is efficient.

We must retain the basic concept of the role of government to provide for a system that is Fair & Just with Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness for all

What ever size the government has to be to maintain that is the size you will have.

What ever actions toward those ends the Market Place is unable to provide the Government has to.

As individuals we have different problems & Ideals. There
are those that wish to divide Us for their personal gains.

The Fed & the Banking System is needed. It should not be debt based. The system needs to have greater transparency. It is too costly as it is today.

I see nothing wrong with the backing being the trust in the people. We are the backing for it now.

The closer it comes to having the right amount of money in circulation the balance to cover all transactions can be met.

The handling of the system has to be done in a transparent way. A trust in the value of the money has to be maintained.

Perhaps the Fed will have to be bought out.

The basic system is really needed.
