I dont know about any of you but I truly feel that along with any who are NOT LEGAL USA CITIZENS, that 18yr olds should NOT BE ALLOWED TO VOTE.
Seems to me at 18yrs old, most cant even figure out how to cook, wash, pay bills, without the assistance of mom & dad. They are still wet behind the ears and the last people to make a somewhat intelligent decision in choosing candidates to run for office.
Whats your opinion?

Then we need to raise the minimum age for military service to 21 as well, and not allow non citizens to serve. You cannot seriously allow children to die for you - and deny them a say in the Government that's asking them to do it. You were aware that non citizens are allowed to serve, yes? We're such an honorable Nation, we promised these kids citizenship after their service..........................then deported them.

If they aren't responsible enough to buy and own a gun until they're 21 then they're not responsible enough to vote for the people who make the laws governing gun ownership. Also, if they haven't moved out of mommy and daddy's house and are over 21, they shouldn't be able to vote.

I agree but to be consistent you would also have to raise the marriage age to 21 as well as the age to enter unto a contract.

Another good idea! Let the parents sign for them to wed under 21. They’re acting like flippant children, treat them as such. Illegals do not have the right under any circumstances to vote in our elections. They’re ILLEGAL, law breakers! Get them out of here...post haste.

I was in the Air Force.. very few of us needed a gun and rarely fired on for those who did need one, as for voting I am a democrat, our motto is vote as many times as you can, republicans don't vote even once in an election because they have to work so we dem's can vote many times...thanks

Totally agree, in fact if it were me I would move it to 26 years of age, should have a job and self sufficient as well !!!!!!

And noncitizens, especially illegal aliens, should NOT be serving in our military, be admitted to our legal bar, serve in any law enforcement position, or hold ANY political office at any level.

First, welcome to the board. Always nice to have a new voice. Now, for your proposition--as a nation we had Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump rise to the head of our collective parties so how did either of us make an intelligent decision in choosing candidates? Wouldn't those who are mature enough to make intelligent decisions first have to do so before we attempt to take away the voice of those we deem too immature to have such a privilege? I mean, as I look at those who have become our representatives and leaders; we haven't been making intelligent decisions have we so if that's the parameter for taking away the privilege of voting than perhaps we should take away our voting rights and let our children run things for a while...
