For all Hillary Clinton’s whining since election night, this might have been the worst.

Worse than her insults to American women delivered in India in March. Worse than her knock on white people in September.

But after The New York Times this week published a statement Hillary made while her defeat was still in the making, conservative actor James Woods nailed her with a Twitter post that might have been his best one yet.

Woods was responding to a Time “news analysis” by staff writer Amy Chozick who’d been on the “Hillary beat” since 2013.

The piece was headlined “They Were Never Going to Let Me Be President,” and described one scene when the failed Democrat candidate for president was told by campaign manager Robby Mook — as late Nov. 8 became early Nov. 9 — that her defeat was inevitable.

“I knew it. I knew this would happen to me,” Clinton said, according to Chozick. “They were never going to let me be president.”

Woods wasted no time responding, and even for a past master of Twitter strikes, it was brutal:

Woods tweeted: “You couldn’t beat 1.) a dope-smoking block party organizer. 2) a dandruff ridden old Commie from Vermont. 3) a reality TV host. It’s not ‘they’ who stopped you, Honey Bunny, it’s YOU!”

Even Clinton fans have to admit Woods has some points here.

In 2008, Hillary was the Inevitable One. The Clinton who would regain the White House for herself, her family and the Democrat Party (in that order) after two successive Democrat candidates couldn’t beat George W. Bush.

It didn’t work out that way, because the junior senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, came out of nowhere. A former community organizer with a self-confessed history of heavy marijuana use — and a resume thinner than rolling paper — stole the mantle of destiny from Hillary’s fragile shoulders.

In 2016, she was the Inevitable One again, but had to resort to rigging the Democrat primaries to beat a half-senile socialist Bernie Sanders because so much of Hillary’s own party really can’t stand her.

Then, of course, she lost to Republican candidate Donald Trump in the biggest American political upset since Truman defeated Dewey.

And Hillary’s response? “They were never going to let me be president.”

There were quite a few social media users who thought Woods had a better take on the situation.

"When you call people Depolorables, Taco Salad, unaware citizenry, etc. it shows what a simpleton you are. And NOBODY Likes you."

That last one might have been going a little too far.

Hillary Clinton has been credibly accused of many, many things over the years — from manipulating cattle futures to murder — but being stupid isn’t one of them.

She is, however, clearly capable of blinding herself to the reality that she was a terrible candidate, running for a terrible party, trying to succeed a terrible, terrible president in Barack Obama.

Still, with the the power of the mainstream news media behind her and all of popular culture pulling for her, against a run-of-the-mill Republican, she just might have pulled it off.

Unfortunately for her, but luckily for the country, Donald J. Trump was no run-of-the-mill Republican.

Hillary can spend the rest of her life trying to hunt down the “they” who put a halt to her return to the White House in glory, but as Woods wrote, all she really has to do is look in the mirror.

Yes it is. It isn't everyday you get to dance to a tune that exposes a depraved human species.
