My recollection about Khazars is that they adopted Judaism for political expediency.
The story goes that Khazars became the Ashkenazi Jews.
Interesting that many are atheists--yet, insist that G_d gave them the land that was taken over in Palestine. What G_d is this?
The Khazars were ordered by their king that "abba kadabra" they were Jews. So, I agree it was political expediency, and they became what is known as Ashkenazi Jews. DNA doesn't support their claims.
So, it isn't any wonder that many are atheists. If they say "their" god gave them the land of Israel it wasn't YHVH, so it had to be another god.
Read John 10:33, 34 and Psalm 82. In my King James Bible, Ps 82:1 is translated as the "divine counsel" of God. Other translations may read "congregation of the mighty". I can only comprehend two possibilities; either it's the Father, Son and Holy Spirit or it is the highest ranking angels like Michael and Gabriel. These gods are faithful and true, so it isn't them.
The fallen angels are also considered gods as they too are eternal beings. So, in my mind it would have to be one of the fallen angels. Christian's call him Satan but he has many names (Baal, Lucifer, etc)
Please respond with where you feel I may be in error, but please don't use Rabbinical teachings. Use the Torah, Mikra and KJV as your sources please. I prefer the "written word" versus an interpretation of what the written word says and may be tradition.
As an aside, I have heard that there are Dead Sea Scrolls that have many personal testaments of the patriarchs from Enos to Aaron. If you are able to verify this, I would love to know where I could obtain an English translation for my library. I have also heard that these testaments could resolve differences between Christian and Jewish beliefs.
I hope to hear from you again and hope I've been of some help. If I get some Hebrew words wrong forgive me and correct me. Maybe we can strengthen each other's knowledge and faith, Shalom!
That is unless your Kev trying to fool and lie to honest people who happen to believe everything you're against.
