How to solve multiple problems in one easy step

Problems such as, federal deficits, lack of funding, federal overreach, etc., can be solved in one step............States opt out of paying Federal income taxes, sales and excise taxes. Those monies previously going into the US Treasury, would now go into States coffers, to pay for all the stuff the States need.

The States can pay for it's own education systems, repair and replacement of roads, bridges and other infrastructure, and healthcare, without any Federal funding. Without Federal dollars flowing in, the federal government has no "carrot" to use against the States.

Why would States send money to DC, then beg for some of it to be returned? The idea of making high population States help pay for shit in another State, is anathema to personal accountability. The States don't need to help fund a Federal Army, as they have Armed Forces of their own, to help ensure the security of their State. The Federal government can find alternative sources of income, to pay for it's international meddling. BTW, we'd need to ban the Fed from borrowing money, but then - with no income from the States, it might be impossible for it to borrow anyway.

Instead of whining about what the Federal Government does not pay for, or arguing about what it does, we'd be limiting that emotional whirlpool to our own State. The States are already being required to do more for it's people, so why not just take care of all of it? It just makes sense for the citizens of each State to keep their money IN their State, to pay for stuff for their own people. Let each State handle their own air traffic control, travel security, etc. and we could eliminate the Department of Homeland Security ( what the hell do they do anyway?), the TSA, the DEA, BATF and a few other choice acronyms.

I can't find a Constitutional basis for most of what the federal government does ( or purports to do ), and I sure can't find a legitimate reason for most of the fees and taxes levied by the Federal government. To my mind, the easiest way to ensure a smaller Government................is not to have one. The States took care of their own business before there ever WAS a Federal government, and I'm confident they could do so again...........certainly far more cheaply and efficiently than the monstrosity we're paying for now.

I have been saying this for years. The job of the Federal Govt. is protection of our borders, very little else. Mike

The Federal government has done it's usual piss poor job of protecting our borders. They are more concerned with protecting wetbacks at the expense of US citizens and LEGAL immigrants. Many people don't realize that there are more than one million Mexican citizens waiting in line to become US citizens, and doing it the right way, the legal way. What message does it send when their border jumping fellows get a free pass?
I'll bet I know the answer. The Mexicans who are becoming citizens the legal way will probably vote for conservatives. Dems and RINOs can't have that.

I commend the Mexicans who are trying to come in the right way, but why do we want another million Mexicans in the U.S. ? I don't think we should let any Mexican's in until the illegals go home.

The Federal government should be funded by a per capita tax, where everyone pays the exact same amount. No tax credits and no deductions. Your payment is due January 1st.

Agreed, they also aren't for us but for themselves. How do your become a multi millionaire on $160,000.00 salary? You get elected to either House of Congress.

We need to take a Machine Gun to our elected officials, both sides, as neither side, have our Country's wellbeing in their interest. That is one reason both sides want to dis-arm us. Not happening. Mike

Democrats need to be taxed at twice the rate of the good people. Their policies cause most of our deficits.

Perhaps a solution to the DACA problem might be that they can all go on the immigration rolls, at the end. With all of their qualifications they are sure to gain admittance, in their turn. In the meantime they can return to their country to wait.

In our federal system, there was supposed to be a balance between federal and state power... Suppose to be..~~~As James Madison envisioned it in Federalist No. 51, “the power surrendered by the people” would be “divided between two distinct governments,” creating a balance of power that would enable the “different governments to control each other.”

Under the United States Constitution, the federal government has broad authority in specific enumerated areas, but its power is not unlimited.... Especially when we consider we are the ones thst gave them power.. State government plays a critical role in all those areas that are not left exclusively to the federal government... As a result, state politics are extraordinarily important because states are charged with protecting the welfare, safety and health of their citizens (which is one reason why roughly 95 percent of criminal court cases are handled in state courts)...People live in states. People work in states. People vote in states. People own property in states. People get married and raise families in states. In sum, the vast majority of the laws under which each of us abide are state laws, not federal laws. Unsurprisingly then, as James Madison also explained in Federalist 46, "the first and most natural attachment of the people will be to the governments of their respective States."

At least since the New Deal, however, the balance of power has shifted decisively in favor of federal politics. The expansion of administrative agencies and other federal programs have encroached on state sovereignty, often with little or no resistance from the states themselves... The real first error of our state representatives which basically allowed the Federal shift in power..

But change is occurring in states across the country...Governors and state attorneys general have begun to challenge what they view as the federal government’s overstepping its constitutionally prescribed role... Its about dang time too!! I sm more a States person than Federal so I’m prejudiced...I sincerely believe states taking care of themself knowing their needs and their residents is much more conducive to achievement .....Something the Federal government does not want... Enjoying the power they have extracted they aren't about to give it up.. Especially when you consider who is really in charge and which big boys are pulling the strings..

I love you idea but must say I dont see it going as you suggest.. Federal gvernment grows, they never cut it although Trumps16k firings is a start it needs to be more like 75% reduction..!!! Not just in the middle income workers but from the top first and go down from there..

I think we should close our borders to all illegals for a good 5 years.. Clean up whats here snd only then allow no more than 100,000 annually.... The vetting process will be left to them, either they provide verifiable documents or they don’t enter the country...They must also truly be refugees not just-coming in under that guise..

Are you referring to a flat tax??

Do you recall Herman Cains’ 999 tax plan... Was premature but what he was talking about would have been close to it..

I prefer the flat tax but still thought Cains had merit too....
