Ready for that $20 cheeseburger? It's coming. Minimum wage laws were, are, and always will be, a bad idea. By the way, can anyone point out the clause where government is delegated this authority? I can't seem to locate it right now.

So why can't lefty see this? I seen it the first time I heard about a $15 M.W. It took me something like 15 seconds to point it out.

Oh, they see 'it' alright. Those politicians are just currying votes from the stupid. There are more stupid than there are intelligent in the left wing progressive camp.

I wonder what Pudzer made as CEO of CKE Restaurants? He and the rest of you posters of full of it. Why do you think so many more people are on welfare. BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF DECENT LIVING WAGE JOBS! THE US ECONOMY IS COLLAPSING BECAUSE OF CORPORATE GREED AND THE HELP OF THEIR MONKEY POLITICIANS!

Back in 1968, the minimum wage in the United States was $1.60 an hour. That sounds very small, but after you account for inflation a very different picture emerges. Using the inflation calculator that the Bureau of Labor Statistics provides, $1.60 in 1968 is equivalent to $10.90 in 2015 dollars. If you were to work a full-time job at $10.90 an hour for a full year (with two weeks off for vacation), you would make about $23,800 for the year. According to the Social Security Administration, 40.28% of all workers make less than $20,000 a year in America today. So that means that more than 40 percent of all U.S. workers actually make less than what a full-time minimum wage worker made back in 1968. That is how far we have fallen.

Yet, pricks like a multi-million dollar paid CEOs, like Pudzie, argue against raising the minimum to a living wage. And of course had the fucking corporate run federal government kept the minimum raises to keep up with even their phony inflation numbers this would not be such a big deal because we would already be at that level.

of course in today's economy we are witnessing the disappearance of good paying full-time jobs and being replace by low paying part-time jobs. All in the name of corporate greed! In 2013, 76.7 percent of the jobs that were "created" in the U.S. economy have been part-time jobs.

Why have real wages been decling the last 30 years? 3 reasons:

1. Thanks to our corporate monkey politicians American workers have been merged into a global labor pool where they must directly compete for jobs with workers on the other side of the planet that live in countries where it is legal to pay slave labor wages. This has resulted in millions upon millions of good jobs leaving this country. Big greedy corporations can pad their profits by taking a job from an American worker making $15 an hour with benefits and giving it to a worker on the other side of the globe that is willing to work for less than a dollar an hour with no benefits. The monkey politicians could do something about this, but they refuse to do so. Most of them just monkeys for their corporate organ grinders' idea of a one world economic system that will unite the globe. Unfortunately, the U.S. economy is going to continue to lose tens of thousands of businesses and millions upon millions of jobs to this one world economic system.

Secondly, big greedy corporations are replacing as many expensive workers with machines, computers and robots as they possibly can. In other words, even if the minimum were $1.00/hour, if it is more profitable they will use robots. As technology continues to advance at a blistering pace, the need for workers (especially low-skilled workers) will continue to decrease. Unfortunately, the jobs that are being lost to technology are not coming back any time soon.

Thirdly, the overall U.S. economy has been steadily declining for more than a decade due to this globalization. As our economy continues to get weaker, the lack of jobs is going to become a bigger and bigger problem.

Putze is a putz full of shit.

That 'living wage' cry is the cry of the fool. It's BS.

There are some workers who will not, cannot earn a 'living wage'. Period. And they do not deserve being gifted into one. If you worked for a living you would know that. The beginning worker is learning and during that time is not worthy of something called a 'living wage'. That's why everyone with an ounce of common sense knows what "entry-level" job means.

Google it. Google is left wing in their reporting. The leftist sites are raised to the top. You will still see that it has hurt communities that have raised their minimum wage. This isn't space science and the extra money that is paid to workers has to come from somewhere. If the minimum is raised either profits drop or prices increase. This is basic math. A dollar in is a dollar out. The only entity allowed to print money is the government and they are printing as fast as they can.

But that is not what has happened in the US. Do you think over 40% of the working population does not deserve to make a living wage? Why does it take 2 incomes to raise a family? I am not talking about entry level jobs of teenagers. I am talking about adults with families to support. Most big businesses and ALL big corporations are GREEDY and fuck their workers. Walmart is at the top of the list. They sponge off of the taxpayers to subsidize their workers' pay. I have a friend that was a district manager for Walmart over 14 stores in the Oklahoma city area. He made $200.000-$300,000 annually depending on his bonus. He quit because of they way his superiors expected him to treat those under him, which was like useless expendable dirt.

Fuck you, I have worked and made a damn good living and am now comfortably retired. My father had a truck stop when I was a kid in the 60s and always paid his workers more than the minimum wage and gave them incentives to make more, even high school kids that worked part-time during the summers. I was busting truck flats at 13 and my wages were my room and board. I bet you never hauled any hay or busted truck flats. I spent 171/2 years in banking after college and another 25 years self employed. Don't tell me I didn't work for a living, asshole?

How many dollars in and no dollars out to those greedy corporations that have outsourced millions of good paying US job overseas and get by paying slave wages? ALL for bigger profits. That is also basic math. And it is that printing of money that has devalued the dollar to where $7.25/hour is NOT a livable wage!

Isn't an entry level job one that gives you 200,000 a year? LOL Anty one that has held a job for more than a year, knows that as you move up, your pay moves up. The more you can do, the more you are worth. Every driver I know started at around $0.25 a mile. Many like myself, that stayed with it for 30 years, are now making 0.45 a mile. At times that can add up to around $0.02 an hour. Give or take a bit, depending on traffic. So to hear someone cry about $7.90 an hour, or $9.50, is kind of sad.

Well, economy demands workers who actually accomplish deeds. It's HARD, get it? Only the fit survive unless the society members elect (volunteer) to support those incapable of learning and performing needed activities associated with earning a living. There's a term for you- EARNING a LIVING... emphasis on EARNING, get it?

I do not think all workers deserve anything beyond that which they actually earn.

Your friend was placed into a position for which he was unprepared. There are plenty of examples of that and giving up a $300K job because of emotional ties to poor performing underlings? Naw, I don't buy it.

As you relate, YOU have never hired anyone to do anything; I have. You are over your head in trying to understand the world of work, so... what's left to be said? Nothing.
