There is no doubt but what most first ladies influence their husbands (the president) as most wives influence their husbands,
First ladies also promote their concerns to promote a better America.

Your opinion is important, so have your vote counted.

Your poll was poorly worded, most first ladies have made zip in terms of contributions to our country. Michelle Obama's school lunch meddling, has left her hated by students all over the country. Barring that accomplishment she was most noted for lousy taste in clothing and expensive vacations. Also for believing she was royalty and being stupid enough to think her husband did anything good for the country.

Most of the other wives were essentially hidden behind the curtain. One, Hillary Clinton, would probably win hands down it it were a contest of who did the most damage during her time as first wife. Betty Ford has her name on drug rehab clinics and programs so I guess she had the most public effect. Nancy Reagan did the most in terms of refurbishing the White House even to replacing the Presidential State Dinner Service at her expense. She left that dinner service as gift to the American People; contrast that with Hillary who tried to steal the furniture.

Melanie hasnt had time to be great yet but suspect she will be on the top before long .Since I'm older I have to say Jackie Kennedy because she just stands out in my mind what a first lady should be and I think Malanie is walking on her path

The same with me. I expect wonderful things from Melania, but it's too soon. My vote went to Nancy Reagan. She was a class act and she made "Ronnie" happy. Also another poster mentioned refurbishing the White House....purchasing and then donating.....noteworthy to say the least.

I don't think Trumps wife has been the first lady long enough to warrant a vote nothing against her just saying

Yes. On the basis of her trip with the President to Israel and the many other things she has done since Barron is out of school. I am a Mother who believes that a mother's first priority belongs to her children. And she loved Camp David. She's beautiful, gracious, always properly attired and properly behaved. I don't doubt that she will be #1 in a couple of years. After, Michael (Michele) she can't fail😌.

I voted for Laura Bush. She tried to instill reading in the younger generation which is badly needed. She was also well dressed and seemed very gracious. I didn't vote for Mrs. Trump because as the others stated she has been their long enough.
