Wow really nice looking pup but he won't be a pup for long as they grow plenty fast and have a huge appetite and I like the name Mojo too

I know my life was so much simpler before Peaches got big enough to jump the fence around my yard. I have three dogs, one big, mostly Pit male, and a little Heinz 57, but they are both quite friendly. It's no big deal if they get loose.

We have three dogs, two Cane corso Mastiffs around 140 pounds each and one 19 pound Welsh Terrier, who is the ruler of the pack, but only because the Coros let him.

It's kind of funny to watch Bullwinkle bark and talk smack to the neighbor's dogs, when he's got Peaches and JoJo to backstop his scrawny little 40 pound ass.
Peaches is about 65 pounds and JoJo was 82, last I looked. Peaches can still manhandle JoJo, even though he's bigger and mostly pit himself.

I doubt I'll get another Pit Bull. Peaches will probably be my last one. I'm getting a little too old.

Well, did you get him all right, and how did he settle in overnight, did he eat? Has he been crate trained before you got him? Keep us updated.

Got him home, very little whining, thought it may be an issue considering he is 16 wks. He's curious, good ball drive, seems eager to please, very intelligent, readily approaches everyone, Neighbor came over this a.m., barked, stood his ground and assessed he was not a threat and greeted him. I'd say he has good instincts, should be naturally protective of what is his. Put a crate in the bedroom and sleeps well. He watches every move I make and stays near. Likes to be close to me when lounging around. Eats well, goes potty same place in back yard, am pleased!

When I was a kid we had a collie. The old timey kind that had the blunter muzzle, before breeders started trying to give them a pointy terrier muzzle. After that one we had a Dalmation and a Boston Terrier. I've owned a Lab, a Rottweiller, 2 Pit bulls and 2 mostly pits, a couple of Heinz 57s, and believe it or not, a Basset Hound. That Basset was a cool dog. People think it odd that someone like me who has a preference for Pit Bulls and Rotweillers would be fond of Basset Hounds.

After a long and futile search for a quality puppy, I have decided on a long haired German Shepherd. He comes from a breeder near Minneapolis. I have his pic as my avatar but today he comes home. Has a sibling out of the same father in Detroit law enforcement. His handle will be Mojo. Probably some sleepless nights coming but I'm looking forward to it. My thoughts are search and rescue or a therapy dog.

God bless the both of you.

That's funny! We've had a little bit of everything over the years. My wife is partial to Corgis. We've had to put two down over the last couple of years due to old age.
We took in a Cha hua hua once, and the first thing he did was jump up on the arm of the couch, look our Chow in the eye, and tell him who is boss. It was hilarious. I liked that scrappy little bastard. I let him out to pee one nite before bed, and an owl grabbed him, and flew off with him screaming. That was a tough one to take. I should of gone out with him.

Owls live everywhere. The best advice with toy dogs at night is to ALWAYS put them in a covered pen or on a short least so the owls can't get them. That also goes with hawks and eagles in the day time.

That is hard to take. We live In the Adirondacks, lost a 6 month old kitten to an owl and a rabbit to a hawk. Then there are fishers and
while out with my dogs we have encountered bears twice. Once the bear is moving away the dogs are smart enough not to mess with it.
That is why I like them big.

Out here on the Texas prairie, the coyotes are hard on cats. We're looking for a litter of kittens for rodent control now. It seems that everybody wants the progeny of their Un fixed animals want them to go to a utopian place with all of the amenities. I want barn cats.

A barn would be a utopia if you were a cat. People are crazy, we considered adopting a cat from pet smart, the application was
what you might expect if you were adopting a child. We live in the country, where cats can be cats, no pooping in a box in my
kitchen. It really depends on the cat, the smart ones survive, cat we have now is 15.

We live in the country too. A cat has to learn to survive. We have had many good ones, and many funny stories to go along with them. Gopher heads on the porch is a great welcome home from work!
