You and Sicilianthing seem to be hung up on the police. How about we abolish all police forces, including the FBI. If you have any imagination at all you will recognize that such a situation would be more lawless than the Old West was portrayed as being, in lurid dime novels. No one likes the Police because most of our interactions occur when we are breaking some law. This does not mean that the police are of no benefit at all; we could not exist in a world without people appointed to keep order.
The Police, like our representatives need to be carefully watched for abusive behavior and removed when such is proved. Their positions do not give license to break the very laws they are appointed to uphold. However we still need the Police and the representatives, without them anarchy and mob rule will prevail.
