Lots of great feedback. Thanks everyone. In light of all the visciousness out there, its great to see all of us talking civilly. And so many great rebuttals, too. Thanks. Regards to all and success as well.

Lets look at the idea of eliminating all money. Having it, working for it, hoarding it or using it asa measure of status.
Lets make EVERYTHING free.
Cars. Housing. Consumer goods. Fuel.
Everything.
No barter. Simply ask for anything and you can have it.
One stipulation: everyone, if able bodied, has to contribute 30 hours a week doing something. This could be the entry to participation.
Think about it. Since no effort attachs to anything, everything becomes a measure of nothing.
Want to drive a Jaguar? Sure. But since their free, where's the status.
Nothing means anything anymore.
In the world of things.
People will start to distinguish themselves through their efforts-building a boat or assembling something or whatever.
But everything will be free.
No crime. NO ELITES. No manipulation.

For a long time, the so called experts had decided that over population created poverty.
It took them a while to learn and deal with the truth.
Poverty creates population.
In a mean state of society, one needs a clan to cling to where all hands work together for their mutual benefit.
No bond is stronger than family, so poverty breeds large families.
When incomes go up, people have smaller families.
That's just the way it is.
You CAN live on love! Eat the babies.

Is it possible that people would create and do what they would want to do?
I think that Jag would take on less meaning if everyone could have one.
There probably wouldn't be too many "status" items around anymore.
People might choose to create significance by building, working, creating for the sake of itself.

Maybe someone who is currently a plumber. Because he/she has to.
But would rather be a boot crafter.

I currently work at a chicken processing plant squeezing the last bit of dropping out of their vent's and I might be willing to trade that job with someone.
Hey I'm just kidding. The only way to cut back on money is barter by trading goods and services .there will always be rich and poor, cause if there aren't any rich then we're all poor.

I'm not a fan of totalitarianism. Un any form. I'm just wondering that if we eliminate any distinction in goods, that people might transcend the illusions which attach to them.
I think there might be less control. Think about the things we do to buy stuff. And so much of it is marketing.
They (corps) always create status and then attach it to some item. They then create a sense of need or desire for that item.
Which is fine and can actually be kinda fun.
Drive through town in a Red Excalibur, for instance. A lotta attention.
But as this occurs in most people, they are using the meaning in things to supplant self exploration and understanding.
An example of this might be thus: I buy a status product because I'm insecure and want some type of identity.
Versus, I buy the status item because it represents a pinnacle of quality and celebrates my achievement.
But, really, how many buy something from a position if strength.
I think what I'm trying to say is that corporation s draw us in, to set us apart from one another. ....and that maybe there might be a better, more fundamental way to experience ourselves and exploit out talents.
